Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 2 Just Getting Started

My gaze never wavered, I smiled unwaveringly. "Stop, Kelvin. You don't need to stress yourself. All I need to do is jump. Isn't it fun, huh?.

With a fluid motion, I launched myself off the branch, my body arcing through the air with an unsettling elegance. Time seemed to slow as I plummeted toward the ground, my long hair streaming behind me like a dark cloak.

In a feat of impossible agility, I landed on both feet, my knees absorbing the impact with barely a whisper. The group stared in stunned silence, their faces pale in the moonlight. Kelvin's eyes were wide with horror, his voice barely audible. "Aria... how did you...?"

*****

I smiled widely, my eye glitching in an otherworldly intensity. " It's just physics, Kelvin. Pure physics" I said as I walked up to Conrad with a cold smile

"Oh dear Conrad, Who want to die first?" I asked as I stared at them still smiling weirdly

"Mummy" one of them carried out

" Why're you crying dear, am not gonna kill you, I just need your soul" I muttered calmly for kelvin not to hear

"Oh my...., everyone run!" Conrad shouted as he began to run

They all flared into the wood as they heard my laughter echoing around them

My laughter echoed through the woods, and the group fled in panic. Conrad's shout still lingered in the air, "Oh my... everyone run!" The trees seemed to close in around them, casting long, ominous shadows on the ground.

As they ran, the group began to scatter, their desperate breaths and footsteps echoing through the woods. My voice seemed to come from all directions, "You can't escape me!" Kelvin, however, stayed close to me, unsure of what was happening. "Aria, what's going on?" he called out to me.

My laughter stopped abruptly, and I turned to Kelvin with an unsettling smile. "Don't worry, Kelvin. I'll be right back. I just need to... catch up with the others." My voice was sweet and reassuring, but Kelvin couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

My eyes gleamed with an otherworldly intensity as I leaned in close to Kelvin. "You wait here, okay? I'll be right back." With that, i turned and vanished into the darkness, leaving Kelvin standing alone in the woods.

*******

I'm Arial, the daughter of the last surviving witch. Lately, strange things have been happening to me, and I can barely recognize myself. My mother and I live on Elm Street, where the locals fear us. It's hard for me to make friends, but Kelvin is an exception. Despite his parents' warnings, he's always been willing to defy them and play with me. We'd run around Elm Street, leaving the others envious.

My mother often tells me I'm a very special kid, and that when the time comes, I'll understand. So, I kept her words close to my heart, like a squirrel storing nuts for the winter.

But one fateful day, everything changed. I fell asleep, only to be consumed by a terrible nightmare. In the dream, I was chanting spells, summoning overwhelming powers. My mother noticed strange noises coming from my room and rushed in, her potions in hand. She placed her hands on my head, chanting spells to calm me down.

As I woke up, I found myself chanting dark spells, my voice foreign and menacing. A stranger's mark began to appear on my forehead, and I tried to stop myself, but it was too late. I felt myself lift off the ground, my hands spread wide, spinning in the air. My mother tried to intervene, but she was powerless. She stepped back, watching in astonished silence as I lost control.

Ever since then, my life has never been the same. The experience left me shaken, and I'm struggling to come to terms with the dark power that seems to reside within me. My mother's words now haunt me, and I wonder if this is what she meant by being "special." The fear in my mother's eyes is palpable, and I'm not sure if she knows how to help me.

*5 years later*

As I stepped into my assigned dorm, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. Kelvin and I had worked tirelessly to secure scholarships at Williams College, and now that we were here, I was still reeling from the loss of my mother just a few days ago. Her final words echoed in my mind: "You must not have sex with anyone till you've broken your past life's curse."

I took a deep breath and focused on my new surroundings. Three girls were waiting for their last roommate, who was me. One of them, wearing glasses and exuding an aura of intelligence and humility, waved at me. "Hi, I'm Bella," she said with a warm smile.

Another girl, who was plump and cute with a lollipop in her mouth, chimed in, "I'm Stacy." The third girl, "Oppra" she stood up and approached me, her eyes locking onto mine with an intense gaze. "Something seems off about you," she said, her voice low and mysterious.

I met her gaze, and for a moment, we just stared at each other. The air was thick with tension, and I could sense Bella's discomfort.
