''This is kinda borin ain't it? let's change the terrain''. Dark Togata says as the landscape transforms into a gladiator arena.
Both fighters jump back.
Nothing happens for a while, no wind, no echoes, just the low hum of something ancient watching.
Dark Togata moves first, not a charge, not movement but vanishing out of sight, Togata barely has time react before he feels a force like the feeling of a train hitting him straight in the ribs, he flies backwards but flips and uses the scythe to stop and plants a hand sliding to a stop.
''Fast''. Togata pants ready to charge.
Dark Togata just stands there, standing on a fallen pillar hands in his pockets. ''Oh c'mon you knew I'd be faster''. He teases.
Togata exhales slowly, the crying hums steady, in blink he's gone too.
''Hell yeah baby!''. Dark Togata shouts blitzing as well.
They collide mid-air, scythes forming at the same instant, metal screaming as they lock. The impact sends a shockwave through the space, rattling the ground.
Face to face again. Dark Togata grins.
''See?! We're perfect together!''. Dark Togata says.
Togata twists his wrist, breaking the lock, and knees Dark Togata in the chest. Dark Togata sails back, then laughs as he spins, landing effortlessly. ''Oh that's cold, you always hit harder when you're scared''. Dark Togata teases.
Togata's jaw tightens.
He rushes him.
Strike.
Block.
Reversal.
Every move Dark Togata makes is something Togata recognizes, his habits, shortcuts, instincts he never realized he had. Dark Togata knows where he'll be before he moves there.
Dark Togata ducks a swing and leans in close, whispering. ''You feel that right?! What you could become? I'm you but refined to the damn bone''.
Dark Togata slices forward forcing Togata back, onto the defensive, Dark Togata rushes forward, sending multiple slices Togata's way, all he can do is block, again and again.
Dark Togata swings his scythe like he's playing with a stick twirling it like a bow staff, every twirl has a strike behind it that Togata can barely block, slicing downwards, then left, then right, attack after attack, Togata is forced to block and dodge as much as he can.
''This power, it don't care who you love, just what has to be done''. Dark Togata says as he continues attacking rapidly, pushing Togata back more and more.
''How does someone even attack that fast with this thing!?''. Togata thinks to himself.
Dark Togata takes a swing directly at Togata's neck but it's blocked. Togata locks the both scythe heads together and locks his scythe base into the ground directly vertical.
''Hand to hand combat why don't we?''. Togata says as he tries to punch Dark Togata.
''Nah uh uh, bad habits die hard don't they?''. Dark Togata says as he just re-summons his scythe in his other hand tripping up Togata causing him to fall to the ground the scythe directly to his neck.
''Maybe you're right, you're not me, way weaker....I'm you but perfected''. Dark Togata says staring him down.
''I don't care how many different forms you take Death. You're what happens when I stop choosing to fight against this, I'm not you''. Togata says.
''Eh, at least not yet, guess this ain't the end then, just the first round''. Dark Togata says.
Togata sits on the ground helpless the scythe directly at his neck.
''Don't blink, I'll be waiting''. Dark Togata says as he slices his neck.
Togata jolts awake in his bed panting and sweating as he looks around, Tick is nowhere to be found. He settles his breath as he sits in his bed.
''A vision? Or...Just something to scare me into submission... That was the alien invasion wasn't it?''. Togata asks himself.
He rests his head as he looks up to the ceiling mentally exhausted. ''Either way...I need to get stronger''. Togata says as he gets out of his bed heading to where the team train.
He looks around for the training device they showed him earlier. He notices it placed down and picks the device to scan his eyes. ''I think this is how they wanted to do it''. Togata says to himself.
Just then a dark, tall, cloaked figure appears in front of him. Togata stares unfazed. ''Wrong one''. Togata says as he uses the device again, suddenly the aliens he fought at his house appear.
Togata grabs his makeshift scythe. ''Everything he did was better than me, his movement, his weapon skills, battle IQ, he said I could become like that....''. Togata says as he stares at the holographic aliens.
''Thanks for giving me something to aim for, I'll engrave that fight in my memory...Challenge accepted''. Togata says as he transforms into his usual blue form, one of his lens becoming a ticking clock a mask forming over him.
Meanwhile back in the room Tick floats into the room looking around. ''Young master?''.
Tick floats around. ''YOUNG MASTER!''.
''What the heck Tick why ya screaming so loud?''. Momo says as she comes towards him.
''Well I'm....I'm just looking for the young master....You can go back to sleep Miss Momo''. Tick says.
''Hmm, nah you're acting suspicious, I'll help ya''. Momo says.
''No need! I insist go rest''. Tick says.
''Hmm no''. Momo says.
''Go to sleep!''. Tick says.
''Oh, you are suspicious''. Momo says.
Then they hear sounds coming from the training area.
''What's that?''. Momo says as she walks over.
Tick pulls her back trying to stop her. ''No Miss Momo! You may leave now!''. Tick shouts.
''The hell is wrong with you! Let go!''. Momo says as she uses her power to push him away.
Momo runs towards the area to see Togata training.
''Left, 5x''. Togata says as he flips dodging attacks. He uses the scythe to cut the heads of the aliens.
''Right''. Togata says again as he slices at the enemies in front of him.
''Woah Togata you're like a pro''. Momo says.
Togata falls out of the air surprised. ''Momo..''.
''You and Aira seem to be really good at combat''. Momo says as she walks over to give him a hand to get up.
''Yeah....How did you''. Togata asks.
''Find you? Just woke up and you were making a bunch of noise so...''. Momo explains.
''...I'm sorry about that''. Togata says.
''That's a lot of aliens...Did you fight this many?''. Momo asks.
''Uhhh! No...I merged the aliens you guys fought together....''. Togata says lying.
''Oh that makes sense''. Momo says.
Tick floats down frantically in a hurry as he sees the two. ''Young master!''. Tick says as he sighs from relief.
''Tick,....''. Togata says.
''Ghosty here was tryna stop me from seeing you train, what did you guys agree to keep it a secret?''. Momo asks.
''Uhhh, yes''. Tick and Togata reply looking at each other.
''Ugh, you guys and your big ego's we're a team you don't have to pretend to be strong for us, we're working together you know?''. Momo says.
''Yeah....I'm sorry, just I guess I'm not used to this team stuff''. Togata says.
''Liar''. Momo says.
''What?". Togata asks.
''When you got attacked you sent Tick to tell us to help Okarun, that seems like a team play move to me''. Momo says.
''Thanks''. Togata sighs with a smile as he sits down.
''Well...Now that the jig is up, I'll be leaving you two, have a nice night young master, you as well miss Momo''. Tick says.
''Yeah bye Tick''. Togata says.
''Seeya, plus don't ever try to hide things from me or I'll slam you harder next time''. Momo warns.
''Eh ehm, my apologies, although in my opinion you should work on being more feminine miss Ayase, you are quite brutish''. Tick comments.
''Say that again ya!....''. Momo shouts as she gets up.
Tick floats away quickly. ''Have a nice night!''.
''Grr! You have to keep your ghost in check''. Momo says.
Togata just laughs. ''Yeah I'll try''.
The two sit there looking at the holographic aliens.
''I know we can beat them if we work together''. Momo comments.
''I'm sure of it''. Togata replies.
Momo smiles.
''Now that I think of it I've never gotten to see you fight properly, the last time we were having to work together, you're pretty fast, maybe as fast as Okarun''. Momo says.
''No, I'm not, Okarun's still faster''. Togata says.
''Huh what do you mean?''. Momo asks.
''I mean his speed...It's supernatural, mine is physics based, so it holds me back a little''. Togata explains.
''Like how?''. Momo asks.
''Okarun accelerates instantly I take time to speed up, plus I have a maximum speed my body can handle, so I can only move in short bursts, not to mention my attack power is way less because of newtons second law, Okarun ignores that''. Togata says.
''English please''. Momo says.
Togata laughs. ''I mean force is equal to mass times acceleration so since Okarun accelerates immediately like from zero straight to a hundred sometimes that acceleration contributes to his insane attack power, I can't do that, so when I fought these guys I couldn't even dent them, I had to blow them up''. Togata explains.
''I get it, so that's why you want to use this thingy''. Momo says grabbing his scythe.
''It's a scythe, and yes, I guess otherwise I won't be any help in the battle If I don't learn to use it''. Togata says.
''See how easy that was?''. Momo says.
''What?''. Togata asks.
''You explaining yourself, c'mon dude we're not insane your brain, you have to communicate, so that's why you've been acting weird, you're worried aren't ya?''. Momo teases.
''Yeah...part of it''. Togata says.
''Then again you always act weird''. Momo says.
Togata just laughs. ''Yeah, that's me''.
''Part of it huh? So what else are you worried about?''. Momo says.
Togata thinks trying to see what to say. ''I..Uh...I guess...''.
''No wait, let me guess, your house right? Tick told us it was destroyed''. Momo says.
''Oh yeah...Ugh...That too''. Togata sighs resting his head on the ground.
''It's alright, after we kick alien ass you can come bunk with me at my house, you know you're always welcome''. Momo says.
''Thanks Momo, for everything really I...I''. Togata says stammering.
''Oh c'mon just say you love us, we know''. Momo says.
Togata just laughs.
Momo sits down resting her head as well. ''Oh yeah remember to name your moves by the way''.
''What do you mean like? A special move?''. Togata asks.
''Yeah, it makes it stronger my grandma told me''. Momo says.
''Noted''. Togata replies.
''Plus take this, it's a special communicator, it's cause we won't be able to hear each other because of the fighting so here''. Momo says handing it to him.
''Thanks''. Togata replies taking it.
The two sit there for a bit unmoving.
''So what about you?''. Togata asks.
''What do you mean?''. Momo replies.
''Who cursed you, why does Jiji need to help you sleep?''. Togata asks.
''Oh damn Reiko Kashima''. Momo says.
''Reiko freaking Kashima!?''. Togata exclaims.
''You know her?''. Momo asks chuckling.
''Yeah only one of the most dangerous spirits in the world, and you have her cursing you?''. Togata asks.
''Yeah, I'm important like that''. Momo says trying to act cool.
''Uh huh''. Togata jokes.
''Kicked a special alien dude too''. Momo says proudly.
''Not sure that's something to be proud about but...Hey''. Togata says.
''Yeah?''. Momo replies.
''When we're done with this let's kick her ass too''. Togata jokes.
''I like the sound of that''. Momo says smiling.
