Deadpool's antics weren't entirely useless. At the very least, Hank the Beast was forced to stay behind and repair the Blackbird Jet, which Deadpool had hacked to pieces. They needed a way to get to near Washington to find the mutant who attacked the President; a vehicle was essential. So, Zhou Yi had some alone time with Jean Grey.
As Zhou Yi walked towards Jean Grey, he felt a strange palpitation in his heart. This feeling unconsciously made him shift his gaze towards the sleeping Ororo. Ororo's sleeping form didn't ease his strange feelings; instead, it stirred a sense of guilt.
A woman who knew her lover was being unfaithful could remain silent, only mentioning it slightly. There were only two possibilities: either she loved deeply, or she no longer loved him. Ororo was willing to give her life for him, which proved how deep her love was. But in the same love, Zhou Yi couldn't give himself as completely as she did.
He habitually divided his love into many parts. At first, he thought he would reap the sweetest one. But when all the love sprouted and grew into brilliant fruits, he found that he couldn't choose between them.
He couldn't abandon the others for one fruit; that would be a heavy blow to him and those abandoned. Moreover, the greed from the depths of his heart made him unable to let go. Morality and conscience were defeated in the face of this greed, but they always, from time to time, tugged at his heart.
This tugging always made him feel an impulse to heap all the sins upon himself. If doing so could prevent those he loved from feeling sad, he would do it. But, alas, it couldn't achieve such an effect.
Should I regret loving too much? With such questions and a sense of guilt, Zhou Yi arrived at Jean Grey's door.
Taking a deep breath, he gently knocked on the door.
"Jean, it's me. Can I come in?"
A flurry of movement came from behind the door, and quickly. The door opened, and Jean Grey, dressed in black and with a pale face, stood behind it. She looked at Zhou Yi standing outside the door, a look of surprise on her face.
"Yi, you're finally awake?"
Looking at the faint flush on her pale face, Zhou Yi was slightly shocked. He quickly went up to support Jean's shoulders, and as he expected. Jean's body had become very thin, that feeling of frailty was no different from someone who had just recovered from a long illness.
"Jean, you're sick. No, mutants don't get sick. You're hurt, what happened? Who did this?" His words were urgent and short, revealing the tension in his heart.
Feeling his concern, a bright smile appeared on Jean Grey's face. She held down the large hand on her shoulder, pulling him into the room.
"Don't worry, Yi. There's nothing wrong with my body, I just overused my mental power. I've been recuperating these past few days, and my body is much better now. Sorry I haven't been by your side. You know, with Ororo around, I can't be too obvious."
Jean Grey spoke her heart to Zhou Yi as much as she could. Ever since the Dark Phoenix broke free last time, she found that her will had begun to weaken. The slight distance she had from Zhou Yi was getting smaller and smaller, while at the same time, Zhou Yi's position in her heart became more and more important.
In the days when Scott and the Professor were missing, she found that she hadn't even thought of him once in her dreams. Instead, she had been constantly thinking about the sleeping Zhou Yi. If it wasn't for Ororo standing in front of her, she really wanted to stay by his side, waiting for him to wake up.
To some extent, this was due to the influence of her Inner Persona. But, it also showed that they had begun to merge with each other. Jean Grey had accepted the existence within her body. Although only in some aspects, it also meant a new beginning.
"You don't look like you're okay. Jean, let me take a look, okay?" The scorching temperature traveled from his palm to her body, and for a moment, Jean Grey's heart was filled with warmth. Facing Zhou Yi, she found it increasingly difficult to say no. So, she just nodded obediently.
Jean Grey's room was just as Zhou Yi had imagined. Simple and elegant, the huge bookcase was the most eye-catching piece of furniture in the entire room, and the books filled it, making the whole room full of the smell of books. Secondly, like all other women, the wardrobe occupied the second position. There's a saying that a woman's wardrobe is always missing one piece of clothing, or in other words, a woman never thinks her wardrobe is small. Jean Grey also had a large enough wardrobe. As for how many clothes were inside, Zhou Yi didn't have the mood to explore.
Compared to these two, the bed didn't occupy such an obvious position in the room. In a position close to the window, a simple single bed with a white mattress was placed there. The soft sunlight shone on it, making some black personal items wrapped in the quilt particularly eye-catching.
Jean Grey obviously noticed these as well. She quickly broke free from Zhou Yi's hand, rushed up and pulled the quilt to cover the things underneath tightly. After doing all this, she cautiously turned around and asked.
"Tell me, you didn't see what was underneath, right!"
"I swear I didn't see anything!" Zhou Yi raised his finger and said something against his conscience again. But women love to hear this, and Jean's face immediately showed a look of relief. However, she was still very cautious, and to prevent further probing, she sat directly on the bed. She used her weight to press the quilt down firmly. At the same time, she said very naturally.
"Just sit anywhere, as you can see. I barely have enough space for more people to stay."
"Enough space for the two of us, isn't it?" Zhou Yi smiled and sat directly beside her. He held her hand. "Don't think too much, let me see if I can make you feel better."
With that, golden light streamed out from his body. These streams of light were like falling golden leaves, dancing in this small room. Almost in an instant, they dyed the entire room a translucent golden yellow.
Seeing this scene, Jean Grey's eyes showed deep curiosity. She reached out a hand and gently touched the golden leaves beside her. With a touch, the golden leaves immediately turned into countless fine golden particles, which swarmed into her body along her fingers.
An indescribable sense of satisfaction came from her body. She felt that her body was rapidly recovering, and the old injuries accumulated in battle and the consumed physical strength began to disappear. Her body was changing towards the best state, and soon, she reached a perfect state.
"What is this?" Feeling the changes in her body, Jean Grey couldn't help but ask. Such power was simply amazing, like the glory of heaven, with the power to dispel all pain. It was conceivable that if this power appeared on those devout believers, it could very well be defined as a new saint by the church. But she knew that the man in front of her was a thorough non-believer. In his heart, she was more practical than the so-called God.
"This is the ability I just awakened, I call it the Solar Blessing. It can transform the energy stored in my body into a powerful life force that can be instilled in others, allowing their bodies to return to the healthiest state. It's a bit of a pity that this power is far less useful for myself than it is for others."
Just like Death said when he was resurrected. His life essence had undergone a tremendous change. He was no longer human, but a god, an eternal star. And as a god, he obtained the power of the greatest star, the sun.
This power was one of the powers he obtained. The sun is the father of all growth, using its light to nurture all things, keeping darkness, cold, and sickness away from the life under its radiance. And this power represents the sun's strength, capable of dispelling all negative forces, allowing life to return to its healthiest state. Any life accepted by the sun can do this.
"Solar Blessing, that sounds like a magical name. Are you the high priest of ancient Egypt, the representative of the Sun God Ra on earth?" Hearing the name Zhou Yi came up with, Jean couldn't help but laugh. She immediately thought of Egyptian mythology and the high-ranking priests of the Sun God Ra recorded in ancient texts. With Zhou Yi's ability, he would probably become a true high priest in that era.
"I am the Sun God, do I need someone to represent me?" With a slight lift of his lips, Zhou Yi said half-jokingly. And just as he thought, Jean Grey immediately patted him lightly.
"Come on, if you were the Sun God, you should at least have a giant golden chariot pulled by white horses burning with flames."
God knows where that standard came from. A golden chariot was easy enough, but where would one find white horses burning with flames? So for a moment, Zhou Yi could only stare blankly, looking speechless. He became a god in a daze, not knowing how it happened. Not to mention, he didn't know much about those mythical creatures.
Seeing Zhou Yi speechless, Jean Grey's face revealed a smug smile. Opportunities to make him look like that were rare. But she couldn't bear to make him too embarrassed, so she immediately broke the ice.
"Alright, I'll let you off this time. If there's a next time, it has to be according to my standards. Also, I forgot to ask. What are you here for? Aren't you afraid of Ororo finding out?"
"I let Ororo go rest. She's been under too much stress lately and needs to relax." Zhou Yi shrugged, starting with the easier part.
"I'm sorry, it's my fault." Mentioning Ororo, Jean's expression dimmed a bit. "My mental state is very unstable, and sometimes I suddenly go out of control, hurting the students. So, I can only watch her shoulder everything."
"It's not your fault, Jean. Everything will be alright." Gently comforting her, Zhou Yi stated his purpose. "I will help you solve the current problem, and I've already found a breakthrough. Maybe soon, we can save the Professor."
"Save? You mean something happened to the Professor?" Sensing a problem from Zhou Yi's words, Jean Grey exclaimed directly. She had always thought the Professor had simply left the school suddenly for something important, never considering the possibility of an attack.
Charles's powerful strength had deeply imprinted itself on her mind; she couldn't imagine such a powerful person being attacked and captured. It completely exceeded her imagination.
And when she learned all of this, worry immediately surged into her heart. For her, Professor Charles played the role of a teacher, even a father. Their feelings were deep, completely like real family. When family had problems, how could she not worry?
"Yi, where is the Professor? What happened to him?"
"Don't worry, Jean. The Professor should be fine now. I came to you to borrow your power to find that clue. I promise, we will save the Professor." Holding Jean Grey's hand, Zhou Yi solemnly promised.
