Many cops walk around the house, a two story house that has more than three cars which suggest that this house is a family project. Many people live in it and many are paying for it.
The cars are of many in variety and even a motorcycle is there.
The house is painted majority white, until the roof edgings, that when it's painted red.
There is yellow caution tape surrounding the house. Marking the point of entry and exit. Making it so that no one enters unless they are a cop or of higher ranking.
The cops even evacuate the family members that were inside, many of them crying tears, a few kids hugging the crying family.
The Kids: "Auntie, why are you crying? Why are the cops here?"
Kai and Fran are behind them. They take a look at each other and give a silent acknowledgement.
Something is wrong in this house.
Kai takes the first step toward the caution tape, Fran following close behind him. As he gets closer to the caution to cops that are talking, stop talking and look at the young man.
The two cops don't look that different in age but they are different in color, and they have their name tags on. The Black one is named Roland. The white one is named Clarence.
They both have the standard cop uniform and they are both wearing a hat so there really isn't that much to tell that are different between them beside their skin tone.
Clarence: "Sir you can't step inside this place. An investigation is ongoing."
Clarence holds his hand out with his palm facing Kai as if being a humanoid stop sign.
Kai reaches into his pocket slowly.
Roland and Clarence immediately reach for their service weapon. On high alert, one of the kids catch a glance at them and move around behind the adult.
Kai: "I'm taking out my badge."
They calm but with they still have their hands and their service weapon.
Kai fully pulls out his badge and puts it in front of Clarence's face, along with slightly flashing it at Roland.
Clarence looks over at Roland and they both hold the the yellow tape up for both Kai and Fran to walk under it.
After they are at the door, out of ear shot of Clarence and Roland, Fran moves closer.
Fran: "What did you show them?"
Kai turns back, looking behind him at Fran.
Kai: "The detective badge. It's issued to everyone thats of a high rank. You should have one too mom.. I meant Fran."
Fran: "I'm not sure, I haven't been issued anything like that yet, my boy."
Kai looks at her once more before turning the knob to open the door and slide inside the house. Where faint crying is heard.
Kai: "We'll see to that after this investigation is over."
Fran: "Okay."
With a nod, they go in and start looking around the house.
They entered into the house living room, that has no one inside, but a few cops that say they cant go into the room.
Kai turns and looks over to Fran.
Kai: "Gloves."
Fran reaching into her pockets and pulls out gloves for Kai. Two leather gloves. So that they don't get any finger prints in the way of the investigation of the cops here.
Fran also procures some for herself but different, hers are the regular plastic gloves that you can use once then throw away after use.
Kai begins putting on his gloves.
Kai: "Ill look down here and you go look upstairs if you find anything I want you to call for me."
Fran nods, puts on her gloves and heads upstairs. Step by step dissapearing from Kai's vision.
Kai finishes putting on his gloves and begins with his investigation, heading into the kitchen. After figuring out that being in the Living room is useless.
He looks around the house, passing by many different cops, that are doing one of two things, just talking or actually working. Kai ignores them all, but he does over hear them.
Random Cop: "I heard the Ambulance is coming over to bring the guy to the hospital, Might bring him down to the coroner for inspection."
He exits the kitchen after finding nothing in it. Going now to the downstairs bathroom. He gives it a quick glance, looking around the inside of the white boring decor to see what inside, he doesn't find anything.
He closes the door and heads out of the door.
* * *: "It's here... It's always here..."
A tormented voice said from the bathroom. Kai looked back once before he continued on his path away from the door, dismissive of his surroundings.
Fran: "Kai..."
Kai jumps at the sudden call for his name.
Fran: "Sorry... was it another voice?"
Kai: "Yes... but ill ignore it for now."
Fran: "You sure?"
Kai nods, then takes a deep breath, putting on his same stoic demeanour.
Kai: "Did you find anything?"
Fran: "The victims wife, a note and a body, with a gunshot wound in their head. You find anything?"
Kai nods.
Kai: "The Ambulance is coming soon to take him to the hospital so let's make this quick."
Fran nods then brings Kai to the stairs, up then following straight down into the room where the faint crying was coming from.
The door is closed but when Fran gets there first she stops and looks at Kai.
Fran: "Kai, it's a mess in here, okay, so if you need to... you know vomit, then bathroom is right there."
Fran points to the door right beside him.
Kai: "Okay..."
Fran pushes open the door and inside is a woman on her knees beside the bed as she cries into the sheets.
A big man in the sheets with a bullet in his head and a gun in his hand. He doesn't have a shirt on him but there is blood sticking to his head as it pools around to his neck. An eye open as one pops out of his head.
Surprisingly there's no cops that are in here to continue with the investigation. They fully believe it's a suicide.
Fran: "That's the wife of the victim. And the note is on the nightstand just be careful it's a bit messy right now."
The rooms ceiling has blood splattered on it, splashed into a controlled area that is full of viscera and disgusting chunks of brain matter.
The bed also has a body on it that is spilling blood, but has soon stopped because all the fluids from his head flowed out already.
Kai: "Talk to the woman. I'll look around the room."
Fran nods and walks over to the woman cutting in front of Kai.
Fran: "Ma'am can you come with me please."
She puts on a calm and pitying voice.
Slowly tucking her hands under the woman's arms and lifting slowly for her to get up. Slowly, the lady follows through and Fran puts one of the lady's arms over herself and guides her outside.
Fran: "Ma'am im going to ask..."
The words die out as they walk down the stairs. Leaving both Kai in the room by himself with a dead body.
* * *: "The thing was following me... I could feel it."
Kai heard another disembodied voice, but continues to ignore it.
Kai, goes around the side of the bed toward the nightstand where there is a note, but blood is splattered on it, obscuring majority of it.
The room began to stink, but Kai just ignored it. As he begin to lean down and read the note without moving it from it's place on the nightstand.
* Honey, I'm sorry but i can't do it. I can feel it breathing on my neck. I can feel it wanting to jump out from behind the dark areas of the house. I tried and turn the lights brighter but then it's voice just felt like it was going to come into my head and break it in half. Time and Time again I was going to hide under the blanket, but i got afraid of what could happen if I stayed to long in...."
The note is cut off from the bloody area, but it gets the feeling off. The victim was being followed, or haunted. Something between the two but Kai was unable to figure out which it was between the two.
Sirens are heard outside so that's Kai's que to leave the place.
He opens the door and walks out, the crying becoming clear again.
He goes straight to the stairs ignore all the other rooms believing that it wasn't needed to try and follow the investigation.
He walks down the stairs. Turns left to find Fran still investigating the wife.
Kai: "Mo-- Fran let's go."
Fran looks behind her to Kai as he takes steps down the stair case and to the ground level.
Fran: "Thank you Ma'am. I'm sorry for your lose."
Fran puts the notepad in her suit and walks with Kai as they both head to the exit. The door slams open as two paramedics enter the house with a trolley.
Both paramedics: "Sorry."
Both Kai and Fran get out of their way and exit the house.
Walking past Clarence and Roland and under the yellow tape.
Kai: "What do you have?"
He looks a Fran as they get closer to a car they drove there with.
Fran: "The wife said something interesting... Something about her husband seeing a wiggly man before he went and killed himself."
Kai stops and looks at her.
Kai: "What do you mean?"
Fran stops as well.
Fran: "At work the other day, maybe yesterday. Stone, the man's name, saw something like a very pale, white wiggling man that was wave in the field that both him and a co-worker was suppose to be bush cutting and when he got closer to the man his vision blacked out and he found himself lying on the ground with Salem, his co-worker, holding him down."
Kai tilts his head surprised at it.
Kai: "Anything else?"
Fran nods.
Fran: "When he came home he freaked out. Locked the door then ran upstairs. Like physically ran. He seemed genuinely afraid."
Kai: "Okay... Guess we'll see what freaked him out, and let's find this Salem."
