Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Uchiha Obito is a fool

Ling left the training ground and returned to the Village, as there was no food at home, she had to eat out.

Due to the approaching war, the atmosphere in the Village was somewhat tense, and there were far fewer Ninja jumping around on the rooftops.

Perhaps it was because the Third Hokage was good at packaging, the fire will he tampered with became his will, and now there were no complaints about the war in the Village.

"Obito, don't run so fast! Be careful not to bump into an old lady."

Rin Nohara looked at the fast-running Obito and could only remind Obito loudly to be careful.

"Don't worry, Rin, haha, this mission is my credit, I caught this cat before that stinky Kakashi, let's see if he still dares to look down on me."

Uchiha Obito held the black cat in his hand, running and spinning three times in place, letting out a hearty laugh, as if he saw Kakashi's deflated look.

"Watch out! Obito! You're going to crash!" Rin Nohara looked in horror at the overconfident Obito, who lost his sense of direction after spinning and crashed directly into an old lady holding a basket of fruit.

"Oh dear!"

Obito was afraid of hurting the old lady, so he had to forcefully twist his waist, only grazing the old lady's fruit basket.

Although he successfully avoided hitting the old lady, he sent the cat and the fruit flying into the sky together. Obito also twisted his waist and fell directly to the ground, watching the fruit fall towards him.

Ling watched this scene from the side. Looking at the fruit thrown high into the air, Ling slightly bent her legs, shattered the ground, jumped into the air, quickly grabbed the fruit basket, caught all the fruit in the basket, and then embraced the flailing cat in the air with one hand.

A perfect landing prevented the fruit from being smashed and the cat from being injured.

"Wow, what an amazing little sister."

Rin Nohara quickly ran over, helped Obito up, and immediately praised Ling's smooth movements.

"Yo, it's Ling. Do you still recognize me? I'm Uchiha Obito, who lives not far from your house."

Uchiha was thick-skinned and recognized Ling at a glance, but he didn't know about Irming Yagyu's death and still greeted her in the same way as before.

"I know, the Uchiha family's dead last, Obito-哥 who is always late. But you should apologize to the old lady first."

Ling looked at Obito's clueless expression speechless, thinking that the Obito who shouted about creating a world with Rin was better, but then again, what the heck.

"Ah, I'm sorry, Grandma, I accidentally bumped into you, Sumimasu!"

Obito reacted when he heard Ling's words and quickly bowed to the old lady to apologize.

"It's alright, little Obito, just don't be so reckless in the future."

This old lady knew Obito; he had once helped her cross the street, and although she didn't need to cross the street, she knew he was a kind child who was eager to help others, so she smiled kindly.

"Here, Grandma, your fruit." Ling returned the fruit basket in her hand to the old lady.

"Thank you, little girl, you're such a good child, haha."

The old lady took the fruit basket and immediately prepared to leave, as she still had to rush back to cook.

"Grandma, let me carry it for you, I'll walk you home!"

Obito, warm-hearted, prepared to take the fruit basket and walk the old lady home.

"Obito, Sensei and Kakashi are still waiting for us to gather, can you hurry up?"

Rin was a bit helpless but still allowed Obito to walk the old lady home. She knew Obito was a good person.

Watching Obito help the old lady walk away, Rin and Ling both sighed at the same time and looked at each other.

"Rin-姐姐, your little cat, here it is." Ling handed out the purring black cat in her arms.

Leaving the warm and safe embrace, the black cat stopped purring, stared with wide, bewildered eyes, looked around, only then saw Ling's figure, and immediately pawed, wanting to return to Ling's embrace.

Rin looked helplessly at the constantly squirming kitten in her hand. This cat was particularly mischievous, often running out to play and not knowing its way home.

The day before yesterday, this little black cat ran out again and didn't come home all day. The cat owner then released this D-rank mission to find the cat, which the Minato Team received.

Because Obito and Kakashi made a bet on who would find the cat first, the loser would treat everyone to a meal, which is why Obito was so enthusiastic.

"Are you called Ling? I heard Obito call you that. Thank you for helping us catch the kitten. If it runs away again, it will be hard to catch."

Rin tried various methods to make the black cat, which was squirming to get back into Ling's arms, behave, but it wasn't very effective, so she looked at Ling for help.

"Mm, let me hold the kitten. I'll go with you to return the cat."

Ling had a cat-attracting constitution; whether in her previous life or now, cats always liked to stick to Ling, and Ling was also an experienced cat whisperer.

"Oh, alright, thank you, Ling."

Rin Nohara quickly handed the black cat, which was about to wave its claws, into Ling's hands and then let out a long sigh of relief.

Ling held the well-behaved kitten and casually scratched its chin a few times. The kitten immediately let out a comfortable purr, nudged its head, found a relatively soft spot, and closed its eyes to sleep.

"Ling, you're amazing! The kitten immediately became well-behaved. Can you teach me? I like kittens, but kittens don't like me."

Rin looked enviously at the cute kitten purring in Ling's arms. What girl wouldn't like a cute kitten?

"Okay, let's talk as we walk. Kittens don't like sharp sounds and complex smells..."

Ling, holding the kitten, walked with Rin towards the mission hall on the first floor of the Hokage Building, where Minato Namikaze and Kakashi were waiting for Obito and Rin to arrive.

Because Kakashi and Obito searched separately, and Kakashi's side didn't find it, it was naturally caught by Obito.

Kakashi was now staring with dead fish eyes, somewhat annoyed, at the bustling street.

"Kakashi, Minato-Sensei, we caught the kitten."

The first moment Rin saw Kakashi and Minato, she waved loudly and greeted them.

"Rin, where's Obito? Who is this little girl?"

Minato looked at Ling, who was running over, but didn't see Obito. After looking around, he only found Ling holding the kitten.

"It's like this... Later, I asked Ling to help me carry the kitten back."

Rin briefly explained the process and then introduced Ling to Kakashi and Minato.

"Ling, your father is Irming Yagyu-先輩, right? I heard the unfortunate news about him. If you need help, you can come to me. My name is Minato Namikaze, and Irming Yagyu-先輩 used to take good care of me."

Minato said to Ling seriously. His golden medium-length hair made Ling feel that Minato truly deserved to be called the Little Sun; even without smiling, he was already somewhat dazzling.

Minato recognized Ling; after all, he had seen the scrolls of everyone who died in this conflict along with Irming Yagyu.

Minato didn't lie to Ling; Irming Yagyu had indeed helped Minato before, though it was a small favor.

"Irming Yagyu? He seems to be my father's friend."

When Kakashi's father committed suicide, Irming Yagyu had visited Kakashi.

Kakashi knew that the Yagyu family, like the Hatake family, were once samurai families, and both excelled in Ninjato arts.
