Chapter 16 - Freedom

Teressa sat rigid in the dim carriage, her back pressed against the wooden seat as if it could swallow her whole. The wheels bumped over the rough road, each jolt sending a fresh wave of nausea through her.

Darius sat too close, his thigh brushing hers. As his face was also close, his breath felt hot and sour on her neck. His fingers tangled in her hair, stroking it slowly, like he owned every strand. She clenched her teeth so hard her jaw ached, staring straight ahead at the opposite wall. 'Don't look at him. Don't give him the satisfaction.'

Inside, her mind was a storm. Fear clawed at her chest, making it hard to breathe. This couldn't be real, dragged from her own home like some common thief, treated like property. Her husband dead, Julius is also alone and sick, the mansion in enemy hands. And now this beast is touching her, his hand sliding lower, fingers grazing her shoulder. Tears burned her eyes, but she acted tough. She wouldn't cry in front of him. Not yet.

Darius leaned in, his lips curling into a sleazy smile. His eyes roamed her face, then down her body, hungry and bold.

"Gods, you're even more beautiful up close," he murmured close to her ear, his voice thick with lust. "That pale skin, those full lips... I've jerked off thinking about you more times than I can count. And now here you are, all mine. I want to fuck you right now, Teressa. Rip that dress off and pound you until you scream my name. Feel those tits bouncing while I fill you up. Bet you've never had it rough like I can give."

Her stomach twisted, bile rising. She turned her head away, but he grabbed her chin roughly, forcing her to look at him. His face was flushed, eyes dark with desire, a bulge already pressing against his pants.

"Don't play shy. I know you want it. That husband of yours was a fat slob, couldn't satisfy a woman like you. But me? I'll make you beg for more. Tonight, in my bed, I'll tie you down and take you every way I want. Slow at first, then hard until you're sore and dripping. Hehe, look forward to it."

Teressa's heart raced, terror mixing with rage. She wanted to spit in his face, claw his eyes out, but his hands were strong, gripping on her wrist as if trying to make sure she doesn't get to escape even with this strong knight guards around them riding horses beside their carriage.

"You're disgusting," she whispered through gritted teeth, her voice trembling despite her efforts. "I will make sure, you'll burn for this."

He laughed, deep and mocking, his hand sliding down to cup her breast through her dress. She flinched, body going stiff as stone. "Oh, I'll burn alright, in you. Hahaha. Can't wait to see that pretty face twisted in pleasure. Or pain. Either works for me."

The carriage door swung open suddenly, letting in a rush of cool air. Alaric climbed in, his face stern, eyes flicking over the scene. He sat across from them, crossing his arms. "Darius, control yourself. We're on the main trade route. Merchants everywhere. If one of them spots the countess in here before we spread the news of her husband's 'tragic accident' ourselves, the whole plan falls apart. Royal family might get involved. We are already on their target list. Lets not give them any excuse for sending an high ranking MAGE behind us to investigate us. We had a hard time getting rid of the last one, remember? At least wait until we're home. Then you can do whatever you want with her."

Darius groaned, pulling his hand away but not before giving her breast a final squeeze. His face twisted in frustration, lips pursed like a child was denied his favourite toy. "Come on, brother. Just a quick one? She's right here, ripe and ready."

Alaric's expression hardened, brows furrowing. "No. Be smart for once. We waited years for this. Don't screw it up now."

Darius leaned back, sulking from this, but his eyes still glued to Teressa. He licked his lips, a perverted grin creeping back. "Fine. But tonight...heh, tonight's gonna be special. I'll strip you slow, make you watch in the mirror while I take you. Pound that tight ass until you can't walk. You'll love it, Teressa. Beg for my cock like the whore you are."

Teressa's face burned with shame and fury. She clenched her fists in her lap, nails digging into her palms until they bled. Hearing Alarac saying they won't take her right now had made her relieved a little. But How could she be relieved? When they are planning how they will ravish her tonight infont of her. These men were monsters.

Her mind flashed to Julius, alone and weak. To the mansion, which must have become a prison now with the watchful eyes of Marquess family.

But her mind couldn't be relaxed enough for her to even think about other things now, with the pig named Darius was staring at her like she was meat.

The carriage rattled on, the brothers falling into quiet talk about dividing the estate. Teressa stared out the small window, trees blurring by, her tears silent. How had her life come to this?

Back at the mansion, chaos still hung in the air like smoke. The Denares soldiers left behind barked orders as they stormed through the halls, locking doors and posting guards at every corner.

Carla, Teressa's personal maid, had witnessed everything, from the moment her lady was dragged away screaming to the helpless silence that followed. No one dared to move. No one dared to help.

Her heart pounded as she ran through the corridors, her skirt clutched in trembling hands, breath coming in sharp, panicked bursts. Tears streaked her face.

Teressa needed help.

Julius was too sick to even stand.

The butler was old, shaking, powerless.

'There has to be a way… There has to be something we can do… How can this be happening?!'

Carla's mind raced, and before she even realized where her feet were taking her, she found herself standing in front of the basement entrance at the far corner of the mansion. She stared at the door, confused.

'Why here? Why did I come here…?'

If someone had told her a few days ago that she would willingly come down here—come to him, she would have called them insane. Although Eon was more friendly and kindhearted than other elevs, but he was far from a reliable person for someone to rely on him with this kind of urgent matter. But now it is ….…

Now everything was different.

Eon had become something else, something strange and frightening, yet oddly reliable, as if he had become a better version of himself all of a sudden.

Now he had become a man wrapped in mystery, a man who moved with purpose she couldn't understand. A man who might, impossibly, hold an answer to the nightmare unfolding around them.

Carla wiped her face with the back of her shaking hand.

She didn't know if Eon could save Teressa.

She didn't know if he would even try.

But right now, he was the only person in this entire cursed mansion who might be able to do something.

And that was enough to make her reach for the basement door.

She reached the basement stairs, breaths coming in gasps. Thankfully the entrance of the basement was still guarded by count families guard.

Although they were blocked the way, arms crossed, faces hard, carla didn't worry much as she knew the perfect way to handle them.

"Where do you think you're going?" one snarled, hand on his sword hilt.

Carla stopped, chest heaving. She swallowed hard, forcing a glare. "Move. I need to see the slaves. The countess sent me."

The guards unaware of the commotion upstairs replied. "Countess? Why would she sent you here? She never sent you here, why the sudden change?!"

Her eyes widened in fake anger, then narrowed. "Do you think she tells me about everything she does?i need to go inside right now. Or should I tell madam teressa how you stopped me. She'll have your heads, you know. Or worse, she'll let the young master play with you. hmff"

The guards shifted, faces twitching. There was nobody in this house who didn't knew about Julius's reputation, the boy's twisted games. One glanced at the other, unsure. "Fine. But make it quick. And no funny business."

Carla pushed past, her heart racing. Down the dark stairs, the air grew cold and damp. Elves watched her from their cells, eyes wide. She ignored them, heading straight for the deepest part, where Eon was locked.

Eon sat in the shadows, chains heavy on his wrists and ankles. But he wasn't surprised when Carla's footsteps echoed closer.

For days, while the house was locked down, he had worked in secret. Using his alchemy skill, he had made various types of potions. Where did he got the ingredients you ask?

That is not a major issue for Eons current abilities, as he can willinly get out and in the cell whenever he wishes.

He made many potions with the ingredients he found from the house storage room. Strength boosters. Pain blockers. And sense enhancers, one drop in his ear, and sounds from upstairs came clear as day. He heard the horns, the shouts, Teressa's screams. He knew she was taken. So guessing why carla had came down here was too easy for him.

Carla reached the bars, face flushed, eyes red from crying. "Eon! Please, you have to help! They took her, the Denares brothers. Dragged her away like an animal. Julius is too weak. No one else will fight. You're…. Your the only one to whom I can turn to for this. Please, save her!"

Eon looked up, face calm, no fear in his silver eyes. He stood slow, chains clinking. Before Carla could say more, he focused his matter manipulation skill. "BREAK," he whispered.

The chains groaned, metal bending like clay. They snapped off his wrists and ankles, falling to the floor with a clang. Carla's mouth dropped open, eyes huge.

"How... how did you..."

Eon stepped to the cell door. It was locked tight, iron bars thick as arms. He touched it, whispered, "OPEN." The lock twisted, metal reshaping, and the door swung free.

He walked out into the hall. Two guards from the house, loyal to Teressa, but confused now, saw him and drew swords. "Hey! Stop! You're not supposed to...…"

Eon didn't even look worried. His face stayed relaxed, like this was just a walk in the garden. "BIND," he said casually.

Earth from the floor rose up like ropes, wrapping around the guards' legs. They froze, stuck solid, faces twisting in shock and fear. "What the hell? Magic? But you're a slave!"

Eon just walked past them, not even glancing back. "Stay there."

Carla followed, eyes wide. "Eon... you're...how can you use so precise magic with so simple chant's?! From what I know, not even a Wizard can use as simple chant's for this kind of magic."

He didn't answer, just kept moving calm and easy. Up the stairs, more guards. But this time they were unfortunately Denares men this, they saw him and charged. Swords raised, faces angry.

"Get back in your hole, elf!"

Eon raised a hand. "WALL."

Air thickened into a solid barrier, slamming the guards back. They hit the ground hard, groaning, faces pale with surprise. Eon stepped over them like they were nothing.

He reached the elf cells. Elsa looked up from her corner, face tired but hopeful. "Eon? What's happening?"

"Come with me," he said, voice steady. He touched her chains. "BREAK."

They fell off crumbling to pieces. Elsa rubbed her wrists, eyes filling with a little surprise. "Thank you..."

He nodded, face soft for a second. "We're leaving. All of us."

In the main hallway corridor, the Denares supervisor, a skinny man with a sharp face, was ordering servants for tearing down a painting of the count. When he saw Eon approching him, he looked at the guards behinds him and ordered them. "An elf loose? guards, kill him!"

Five soldiers rushed. Eon didn't flinch. His expression stayed chill, like this was boring. "BLADE."

Water from a nearby bucket sharpened into a thin edge, slicing through the air. Instantly with a SWISH sound it did it's job.

It cut clean, left behind the guards heads rolling.

The supervisor's smirk turned to horror, eyes bulging.

"You... what are you?"

Eon walked up, face blank. "YOUR DOOM."

A quick "BLADE" chant and the man was gone, blood pooling.

Carla gasped, hand over her mouth. "Eon... you killed them all!"

He looked at her, eyes calm. "Had to. Now the keys."

After killing them, he gestured for the other elves to come out in to the main hall way.

They went to Julius's room. The boy sat in bed, face pale, eyes wide when Eon walked in.

Seeing Eon, he got stunned for a second, but right after he screamed out,"You... elf. What do you want?"

Eon stood tall, voice even. "The keys to the slave collars. Give them."

Julius frowned, confused. "Huh. what are talking about?! Why whould I?"

Eon leaned in a little, face serious. "Because only I can save your mother now. The Denares took her, right? You want her back or not? Then first get me the key to the slave collar."

Julius's eyes filled with confusion and desperation. But he refuses to hand over the keys.

He looked at carla who was beside the elf. She gave him a look, it was saying it's ok to give him the key.

Just as julius was struggling to decide if he should give him the key or not, the old butler came in. "give him that key, young master. He might just be the last hope for rescuing lady countess before those vile creatures do something to her. Every moment counts now."

Hearing the old butler Hans saying it made Julius give him the key finally, as in his mind the old butler could never betray their family. He had been their butler for 3 decades after all.

Eon took them from julius's hand and nodded. "Stay here."

Eon took the key outside the room, where many elves were waiting for him. He unlocked every collar.

Everyone started to cry, they hugged each other, faces lighting up with hope for the first time in years. Verra held Loreth close, tears streaming. "Free... we're free." bright smile was enveloping her face.

Elsa touched Eon's arm, eyes shining. "Thank you."

After enjoying the elves freedom with eyefull, He pulled out his bag of potions. In the days alone, he had made more. Better ones. The old healing potion just sped recovery. Now, with extra bits from herbs and dirt, he added nutrients. It healed for real, closed flesh wounds almost instantly, built strength. Although it was a great find, but as he was short of ingredients, plus his skill level was low, so he couldn't make the potions very OP. they just heals minor injury, gave a little stamina back and only some strength boost.

He handed them the potions. "Drink. It will make you strong."

The elves drank, faces changing. Thier overall Color came back. Muscles filled out a little. Eyes got sharp. Verra stood a inch taller, flexing her hand. "I feel... like I could fight right thi moment."

Elsa nodded, face determined. "We all do."

Some elves were murmuring to themselves, 'unbelivable'.

Eon looked at them, his own face serious but calm. "Good. Because we're going after the Denares. They have an army. We'll need one too, if we want to stand a chance."

Some elves said, ' it should not be their proble. They were just a while ago slaves to them. And Eon now wants them to fight for these nobles? Absolutely not.' some were even sayin, 'what gives him the right to order then around?'

Before Elsa could voice her words, Eon stopped her." because I have just now gave you freedom. And if I want I can also snatch it away. But obviously I won't do that. I will just remind you, although you have been freed, how do you think you will survive from now on in this human kingdom? No elves will be able to live in peace inside a human territory, fully knowing they can be made slave again. Forget about crossing the border, as I don't even have to explain the chances of getting hunted down by border patrols. Only by having a noble family backing us can we have a proper life now. So what I am offering you is not just freedom, it is a new beginning. Which won't come for free ofcourse. First we have to save them for them to owe us."

Hearing Eons speech, The elves cheered quiet, their faces now filled with hope and determination. Carla watched, eyes wide. "You're really doing this?"

Eon nodded. "For freedom. For all of us." he roared strong. As the whole elves group also roared back, "For Freedom. For all of us." their shout echoed around the corridor in waves.

As they were shouting this Eon's mind was racing with a little worry, 'The Denares were strong. Marquesses with soldiers and gold. This would be hard. But with my magic, potions, and these elves... maybe it will be just enough. Hopefully' he sighed long.
