The tension from the mysterious eyes in the sky had passed.
For now.
Kael had simply looked upward once and said:
Later.
And somehow.
everything returned to normal.
Again.
No one questioned how.
At this point everyone inside the Veyris Empire had accepted a universal truth:
If Kael Veyris says later, reality itself waits.
Night arrived.
Across the Empire, glowing lanterns filled the skies.
Floating bridges connected crystal islands while music echoed through the heavens.
Tonight was the Starfall Moon Festival, a celebration held whenever cosmic stars aligned above the Empire.
Families walked through glowing streets.
Dragons flew overhead.
Stands lined the roads with food and games.
Golden lights drifted through the air like fireflies.
Kael Veyris walked with his family.
Beside him were Ignisia, Lilith, Morrigan and Crysalith Frostveil.
Further behind, many others followed.
Kaelignis suddenly pointed at a food stand.
Dad!
Dad!
Dad!
Look!
Lyra immediately ran over.
The sign read:
Galaxy Dragon Spiral Cakes
Kaelignis looked amazed.
I don't know what that is.
But I need it.
Nearby, Veyloria quietly stared at a tiny dragon plush hanging from another stand.
Kael noticed.
Without saying anything.
he walked over and got it.
Veyloria blinked.
Looked at the plush.
Looked at Kael.
Then quietly hugged his arm.
...Thank you.
Nearby.
Lyra pointed dramatically.
DAD'S POWER ACTIVATED AGAIN.
Umbrythra tilted her head.
Which power?
Lyra spoke seriously.
The Makes-Everyone-Happy ability.
Elyrion nodded.
Evidence continues increasing.
Kael looked at all of them.
...
Then suddenly.
far above the festival.
one lantern stopped moving.
Then another.
Then another.
The lanterns slowly formed symbols in the sky.
Ancient symbols.
The same symbols from Hidden Resonance.
Everyone looked upward.
Kaelignis blinked.
Dad...
Did the sky just write something?
Kael looked up quietly.
His expression became still.
Above them.
the lanterns finished moving.
Only four words remained.
It Has Started
The wind stopped.
