The Veyris Empire had finally begun to feel "normal" again.
Which, in Kael's Empire, usually meant something extraordinary was about to happen.
Inside the Imperial Gardens.
Kael Veyris stood beneath the familiar glow of the Universe Tree, whose leaves still shimmered faintly after recent events.
But then.
the wind stopped.
Not slowly.
Not naturally.
As if something had commanded it to pause.
The Universe Tree itself reacted.
Its branches trembled slightly.
Light bent inward.
Reality shifted in recognition.
And then.
a second presence answered.
A massive tear of emerald-gold light opened above the gardens.
From it descended a being unlike anything else.
Ashvattha
She was ancient.
Older than kingdoms.
Older than timelines.
Over 900 billion years in existence.
and yet, compared to the Universe Tree, she carried the energy of something still "young."
Her form was breathtaking.
Her long flowing hair moved like cascading vines mixed with starlight deep emerald at the roots fading into gold, ivory, and faint celestial blue at the tips.
Her eyes glowed green-gold, like sunlight passing through sacred forest leaves.
Her skin shimmered with luminous ivory tones, traced faintly with golden-green vein patterns like living roots beneath glass.
From her head rose a radiant canopy-like halo of branching vines and celestial wood, blooming softly with shifting flowers and faint star-like motes that appeared and vanished with each breath.
Her gown flowed like layered leaf-silk, bark-like crystal patterns, and golden vine embroidery, moving as though the forest itself was breathing through her.
Silence filled the Empire.
Even Wukong didn't speak.
For once.
Sun Wukong whispered:
Okay… that's not a tree anymore.
That's a divine ecosystem.
Ashvattha stepped forward slowly.
Every step caused faint flowers to bloom in the air behind her.
She looked directly at Kael.
So this is the Emperor who binds worlds without chains…
Kael studied her calmly.
And you are not the Universe Tree.
Ashvattha smiled softly.
No.
I am her sister.
Older roots.
Different growth.
A pause.
And I came because I was curious.
Kael tilted his head slightly.
About what?
Ashvattha looked around the Empire.
At the floating continents.
The living skies.
The intertwined realms.
About the man who turns impossible beings into something that resembles… home.
Silence followed.
From behind a marble pillar.
four daughters peeked out again.
Kaelignis Veyris whispered:
Dad's getting interviewed by trees now.
Elyrion Veythera wrote:
Classification: Divine Flora Council Member.
Lyra's Kaelry blinked.
Do trees flirt with Dad too?
Veyloria Kaelthera sighed.
I'm not even surprised anymore.
Ashvattha stepped closer.
Her voice softened slightly.
I have watched the Universe Tree grow.
She is proud… but inexperienced.
A faint pause.
Then.
she looked at Kael more directly.
But I find something interesting here.
Kael responded.
What?
Ashvattha hesitated.
For the first time.
a faint red tint appeared on her calm, divine expression.
A… strange thought.
She looked away slightly.
Then spoke again.
If I remain here…
would your Empire accept me as I am?
Not as a tree.
Not as a concept.
But as myself.
Silence.
Then Kael answered simply.
Yes.
Another pause.
Ashvattha blinked.
No conditions?
Kael shook his head.
No conditions.
Her expression softened further.
And the faint blush deepened slightly.
Then… I may stay.
A quiet beat.
And perhaps…
She looked away again.
…become something like the others.
That last sentence came softer.
Almost unheard.
Behind her.
the Universe Tree rustled gently, as if reacting to its sister's words.
From the side.
Ignisia whispered:
Wait.
Did the tree just blush?
Umbryssia smirked.
We are officially collecting emotionally unstable divine entities.
Lilith sighed.
This Empire needs a warning label.
Nyx added softly:
Too late.
Kael looked between Ashvattha and the horizon.
The Empire remained calm.
Alive.
Endlessly expanding.
And for the first time.
two world trees stood in the same reality…
not as forces of nature…
but as witnesses to something they didn't fully understand.
Home.
