Chapter 941 - Before the First Beginning

Night fell over the Veyris Eternal Empire.

The palace was quiet.

Kael Veyris stood alone upon the highest balcony.

Above him...

Endless stars illuminated countless realities.

Behind him...

His family laughed within the palace.

For a moment...

The Architect of Existence closed his eyes.

Then...

He disappeared.

Not by teleportation.

Not by speed.

He simply returned...

To the place that remembered him.

Beyond the verse.

Beyond every narrative.

Beyond every framework.

Beyond concepts.

Beyond existence.

There was only...

Nothing.

Not darkness.

Not emptiness.

True Nothingness.

A state where there was no space.

No time.

No life.

No death.

No dimensions.

No imagination.

No laws.

No systems.

No stories.

No beginning.

No ending.

Even the word nothing did not yet exist.

From that impossible state...

A single presence remained.

Not born.

Not created.

Not awakened.

It simply was.

The Primordial Nothingness.

Kael Veyris's true form.

It possessed no face.

No name.

No identity.

No body.

Because bodies had not yet been imagined.

No light reached it.

No shadow followed it.

Nothing could describe it.

Everything that would one day exist...

Would only exist because this primordial state chose to create.

Its first thought echoed where thoughts did not yet exist.

"...I am alone."

From that thought...

Possibility was born.

The idea of creation appeared.

Not because it was necessary.

But because loneliness wished to become companionship.

The Primordial Nothingness smiled.

There was no face.

Yet the smile existed.

It imagined.

The first origin.

The first concept.

The first law.

The first flame.

The first drop of water.

The first breath.

The first soul.

The first dragon.

The first god.

The first demon.

The first angel.

The first tree.

The first universe.

Then...

Countless more followed.

Narratives.

Frameworks.

Infinite realities.

Endless possibilities.

Everything that existed...

And everything beyond existence...

Flowed from that single choice.

Yet...

The Primordial Nothingness never desired worship.

It never sought a throne.

It never demanded faith.

Instead...

It created one final thing.

A man.

Kael Veyris.

A life that could walk among creation.

A husband.

A father.

A friend.

An Emperor.

A life capable of experiencing the world it had imagined.

Within the palace...

Kael suddenly opened his eyes.

He returned from the memory.

Soft footsteps approached.

It was Veyloria.

"Father?"

Kael smiled gently.

"You should be asleep."

She laughed.

"I was looking for you."

She looked at the endless stars.

"What were you thinking about?"

Kael remained silent for a long moment.

Then he answered softly.

"I was remembering a time before there were stars."

Veyloria looked at him curiously.

"Was it lonely?"

Kael looked toward the palace, where the voices of his wives, daughters, and friends could still be heard.

"Yes."

"But not anymore."

Veyloria smiled and gently hugged her father.

"You'll never be alone again."

Kael returned the embrace.

"I know."

Far beyond all realities...

The Primordial Nothingness remained eternal.

But now...

It no longer gazed upon endless silence.

It watched a family.

And for the first time since before the first beginning...

The oldest existence in all creation understood something greater than infinite power.

It understood...

Home.
