After a week, they finally found a good rhythm in taking care of Azura together. Her fathers took turns staying by her side in the pond because she still could not fully breathe on land yet.
At night, Roxanna would place Azura inside the Cradle of Tides so they could watch over her more easily while making sure she could still breathe safely through the night.
"It feels like something is wrong," Roxanna said quietly while feeding Azura in the pond.
Beside her, Azul gently stroked their daughter's tiny head. "Honestly, I don't really understand this either. Deep down, I feel like I wasn't born like Azura, but at the same time, I can't trust my fish memories."
There were still too many things missing from his memories, and that empty gap still remained. For a moment, the two of them fell silent, lost in their own thoughts.
But then the silence broke when Azura suddenly choked.
"Cough… cough…"
Roxanna quickly pulled her daughter away from her chest and gently patted her back.
