Chapter 112 - A Gamer's Etiquette

"Not bad. Although there are still quite a few parts you haven't truly memorized, with your current level, passing the history subject shouldn't be too difficult."

In Kiana's room, after spending some time verifying the results of the girl's study over the past few days, Evan revealed a gratified expression.

Although she usually appeared lazy and slothful, perhaps stimulated by Kallen's presence, or perhaps genuinely not wanting to let everyone else walk ahead while she was left far behind, Kiana had indeed been hardworking these past few days. Her efforts had not been in vain; at this moment, her historical knowledge had reached a relatively normal level.

Even if Kiana couldn't score enough points on the extra credit question given by Teacher Welt, passing the exam wasn't impossible anymore.

It was truly something to celebrate.

"So—the exam isn't until the day after tomorrow. Can I take a good rest tomorrow? I've been reading, reading, and reading these past few days; my eyes are going blurry!"

Hearing Kiana's words, Evan reached out and flicked her forehead.

"Wanting to rest before the exam even starts? I suspect if I let you loose now, by the time tomorrow passes, you'll have forgotten everything you just read. So please continue to work hard for one more day, Kiana."

"If this goes on, I might actually die."

Kiana's solemn expression made Evan smile helplessly.

"Then how can I save you?"

"Keep me company while I study tomorrow, okay? These past few days, Bronya only knows how to play games, Mei runs out to practice with her tachi whenever she's not cooking, and Himeko only cares about eating snacks and watching TV at home, occasionally laughing out loud and disturbing me. I'm almost dying of anger!"

There is no harm without comparison.

Kiana herself was studying hard, while Bronya and Himeko were enjoying entertainment under the same roof. The only other person working hard, Raiden Mei, was out training, leaving Kiana unable to feel the sense of companionship.

Being able to persist for so many days was actually surprising enough for Kiana.

"I don't have a problem with it, but how am I supposed to keep you company while you study? Won't I just disturb you if I'm by your side?"

"Since I don't need to learn new things tomorrow anyway, it won't count as disturbing. If you don't keep me company, I feel like I won't be able to perform at my normal level on the exam day."

Kiana was acting spoiled in her own way. This period had indeed been quite torturous for her.

Evan thought for a moment and didn't refuse. Although he had pretty much mastered the knowledge a student needed to know, since Theresa had given him ample trust, Evan needed to make some arrangements for St. Freya Academy's future. Even though he already had some relatively detailed plans, it wouldn't hurt to understand the situation of the academy and the Far East more deeply.

So, reading books with Kiana then would be fine.

Evan nodded, accepting the girl's request, which caused the previously worried Kiana to quickly smile.

"Alright, I promise you. You keep reading; I have some business with Bronya."

Kiana, who was smiling just a moment ago, suddenly stood up.

"Why are you going to find her?!"

Although Kiana and Bronya were willing to do many things for each other in critical moments, they never lacked bickering in daily life.

Hearing suddenly that Evan was going to find Bronya, Kiana felt a sense of betrayal.

Evan had never expected that after establishing an intimate relationship with Himeko, he wasn't "Nice Boat-ed" by Raiden Mei because of Himeko, but instead faced a fierce reaction from Kiana because he was looking for Bronya now.

"...I'm looking for her for serious business. I need Bronya's computer skills to help organize some data. If you can help me, then I don't have to find her."

Now Kiana was speechless. Although she wasn't a complete idiot who couldn't operate a computer at all, compared to Bronya's computer skills, they were truly not on the same level.

Evan rubbed Kiana's head as a final comfort, then turned and left.

In Bronya's room, the petite girl was sitting at her desk operating the computer, playing that game called Honkai God Domain (a play on Sword Art Online/Genshin style naming).

Because the Sword of Damocles known as the 3rd Eruption had been hanging over his head before, Evan hadn't really touched the games of this world and didn't know the specific content of this Honkai God Domain that Bronya loved. However, he could see several character frames on the side of the interface. His rich gaming experience told Evan that Bronya was currently teaming up with others to raid a dungeon that looked quite difficult.

One hated being disturbed the most when playing games, especially when teaming up with others.

As a qualified gamer, Evan had experienced being disturbed several times while teaming up for competitive games or raiding high-difficulty dungeons in RPGs.

That displeasure was still fresh in his memory even now.

So, Evan didn't make a sound. He stood aside and watched Bronya until she finished the raid. After all, he wasn't looking for Bronya for something incredibly urgent.

About ten minutes passed.

"Thank you."

The girl, who had been staring at the computer screen the whole time—only saying "Come in" when Evan knocked without turning her head—now exhaled softly. After saying goodbye to her teammates and exiting the party, she turned to look at Evan, thanking him in a voice that lacked fluctuation but definitely held gratitude.

"I used to be a gamer too, so I understand the situation just now. You don't need to thank me. By the way, are you done with the game? If not, you can continue."

"Mhm. Today's daily quests are completed. Is there something you need?"

Bronya hadn't expected that Evan, who had trained insanely before and was undoubtedly the type to be strict with himself, was actually a gaming enthusiast too. She was even more surprised that he didn't find her gaming objectionable and had considerately waited by the side.

One had to know that Mama Cocolia had complained about her "losing ambition by playing with toys" before.

While thoughts flowed through Bronya's mind, Evan spoke.

"I want to ask you to compile a historical archive from the 15th century to the present. Even a simple timeline of major events is fine. Can you do it?"

"No problem. Leave it to Bronya."
