Chapter 46 - Community Shield Championship

Lin Hao said, "I've really never seen anyone with such poor defense. The thing is, you've been practicing for so long, you should have improved a bit by now!"

"Come on, to the right!" Lin Hao said as he demonstrated the movement, just like a soccer coach teaching a child who had just learned to play.

"Why don't you believe me? I told you it was on the right!" Lin Hao broke through on the right and dribbled back diagonally. Wijnaldum, who was helping to cover, came over, and Lin Hao flicked the ball back with his right foot. Wijnaldum followed up, and Lin Hao had to touch the ball again, directly dribbling down the wing and passing it back from the byline.

Van Dijk's positioning was flawless; he intercepted the ball, launched a long ball forward, and looked for Salah on the right flank.

Three minutes later, Lin Hao faced Arnold again and said the same thing, "To the right!"

Lin Hao flicked the ball to the right, Arnold followed, Lin Hao spiked, Arnold followed again, Lin Hao flicked again, the continuous changes of direction caused Arnold to lose his balance again and was beaten by Lin Hao.

Lin Hao continued his sarcasm, "I told you to stay on the right, why can't you stand firm in your own convictions!"

Lin Hao dribbled past Arnold, drawing the defense, and then passed the ball back to Xhaka in the half-space. Xhaka made a diagonal pass at a 45-degree angle, and Saka volleyed it in at the far post.

At such close range, Alisson made a heroic save.

That was a truly incredible save.

The corner kick was taken, and Arsenal marked it as Trent Alexander-Arnold's shot, since Lin Hao had been playing well lately.

Lin Hao received the ball and faced Arnold. As soon as he got the ball, he said, "To the right!"

Arnold followed up, Lin Hao changed direction, cut inside from Arnold's left side, and delivered a cross pass. "What do you believe in what I say?"

However, the pass was cleared. Logically, if they kept breaking through and sending out passes, either Liverpool would send someone to cover and defend alongside Arnold to see if they could stop him.

Otherwise, it would only be a matter of time before Arsenal scores.

But ironically, Liverpool didn't send anyone to help Arnold in this match. Lin Hao was tired of dribbling past Arnold, and he dribbled past Arnold more than 20 times in one game, while Arnold successfully defended against him zero times.

But no goals were scored. That's football for you; anything can happen.

In the 85th minute, Lin Hao received the ball and stood in front of Arnold. Arnold's eyes were bloodshot; he was clearly furious and desperate.

Lin Hao then uttered the two words "Arnold" that sounded like a nightmare.

"right!"

"You son of a bitch!" Arnold couldn't take it anymore and didn't move. Lin Hao passed him, grabbed Lin Hao's collar, and flipped him over. Lin Hao landed on his back and slammed to the ground, then curled up in pain.

The referee immediately ran over, pulled out a yellow card, and handed it to Arnold.

Arnold continued pointing at Lin Hao and yelling, "So what if you can get past me? So what if you can get past me? The score is still 1-0. Didn't you say that with me around, Liverpool is destined to be 0-1 down?"

Lin Hao lay on the ground and smiled disdainfully, "Your behavior is just like trying to compete with others, and then losing and starting to make up other excuses!"

"We still have a few minutes left to decide whether we lose or not, but you're 100% guaranteed to lose!"

"Besides, the game isn't over yet, is it? What if your foul causes you to concede a goal?"

"Then you're just bragging!"

Lin Hao and Saka stood on either side of the free kick, one on each foot, and huddled together. Lin Hao whispered a few words to Saka.

Saka then took the lead with a run-up, feinted, and Lin Hao immediately followed up with a shot. The ball drew a perfect arc, and Alisson moved quickly to try to save it, but it was too late. The ball went in with a beautiful, curved shot.

Lin Hao and Saka jumped up excitedly, bumped chests, and after landing, they made the celebration gesture they had agreed on beforehand. They stood facing each other, right hand to right hand, arms bent, biceps against biceps, a powerful celebration gesture.

When the ball went in, Arnold was utterly devastated and collapsed to the ground.

Actually, Arnold's tolerance is already very high. If other full-backs were beaten like that, they would have been broken long ago. Maybe he's just used to being beaten.

It would be difficult for others to pass through so many times.

The goal scored after the 85th minute was almost a last-minute equalizer.

But to everyone's surprise, in the 90th minute, Lin Hao faced Arnold on the left wing. This time, he didn't call for the right wing, but instead controlled the ball tightly and moved forward little by little. Arnold retreated little by little, maintaining a good distance to deal with Lin Hao's sudden start.

Arnold suddenly realized he seemed to have entered a restricted area. He had a bad feeling, and sure enough, Lin Hao shouted, "Right side!"

Arnold instinctively went to the right, but Lin Hao didn't even go to the right or change direction. He shouted "right," but went to the left.

Liverpool fans were in disbelief. It was one thing for Arnold to get beaten, but for Lin Hao, who didn't even use a feint and still got beaten.

Lin Hao cut inside from Arnold's left flank. Facing Joe Gomez's defense, Lin Hao didn't try to dribble past him. Instead, he quickly passed the ball from his left foot to his right and shot directly with his right foot.

Lin Hao lost his balance and made a desperate low shot. The ball was so fast that it passed under Alisson before he even hit the ground and went into the goal. 2-1, a goal in the 90th minute, a winning goal.

Lin Hao ran to the sidelines, shaking off his teammates who tried to hug him. He reached the sidelines, stood in front of the camera, and made a "1" gesture.

This was a bit of a veiled question; Lin Hao meant, "Did I ask you for a single extra penny?"

Lin Hao was responding to the questions that his salary was more than just his wages.

Two minutes later, the referee blew the whistle, and in the Community Shield match before the start of the season, Arsenal won the Community Shield by scoring two goals in the last five minutes through Lin Hao.

Arsenal lift the trophy.

Lin Hao concluded by saying to Arnold, "It's okay. After a few more times, he'll slap you back. Maybe then people will say you're a real man, wondering how you can be so bad and still keep challenging yourself!"

Lin Hao is really ruthless. If he says that, will Arnold still dare to challenge him next time?

Seeing that he was definitely outmatched, and that another challenge would only result in defeat, Lin Hao said he would give up. It seemed as if not challenging meant he had lost even the spirit of never giving up despite repeated defeats.

Salah stepped forward, separating the two men. "Don't bully our Crown Prince. I'll come next time, dare you?"

Lin Hao looked at Salah and said, "Salah, I'm not trying to increase hatred. Everyone who challenges me looks down on me. You saw how Arnold provoked me!"

"I know, but his embarrassment is Liverpool's problem, and you've only fueled the hatred!"

Lin Hao laughed and nodded, "Then let's go!"

So what if the whole football world is full of enemies!
