Chapter 1 - First Blood

In this world, some desire money, some desire fame… and some desire to rule. Thoughts and people may differ, desires may vary, but there is one thing that never changes: Power.

Power is the only way to achieve one's wishes.

350 years ago, the great Dark Age began. From a place called the Realm of Chaos, hordes of monsters flooded into the world and turned it into hell. The world's population suffered a massive slaughter. As a result, some individuals were blessed with mysterious abilities called Gifts, and hunters were born. Thanks to them, the world order we know was formed. History was not destroyed—only pulled back, waiting.

"Voices are coming from everywhere… Feels like my head is about to collapse, hehe… But it doesn't matter. One last match. Just one… Then the grand prize is mine. Huh… Let's go."

"— Hey Yhazem, good luck, kid."

When I turned around, I was surprised for a moment. Seeing old Shroud and the others made me smile, and I added:

"— Hahaha, you should say that to the other guy, old man. Because today's winner is me."

When I stepped into the arena, he was there.

Towering… Two meters tall, 130 kilos, black-haired tyrant—the man known as Asura, Lucky Nowr.

I knew him. I had spent a whole week preparing specifically against his ability.

When he saw me, he stepped forward.

1, 2, 3, 4 steps… Then we stood face-to-face. Only 30 centimeters between us. Next to him, I looked tiny. He lowered his head and stared at me with crimson eyes. He could have killed me right there, but I endured it—no matter how suffocating it was.

After a full minute of silence, he spoke:

"— Interesting… Very interesting. Even with my killing instinct, you're still standing."

He removed his earpiece and dropped it to the ground. Then added:

"— Hey, who exactly are you?"

I took a deep breath and shouted:

"— I'm the one who will defeat you and become the tournament champion! My name is Yhazem! Yhazem of the Red Phoenix club! Today, I'm the one who's going to crush you.
