"Misha Arelia, a fair-skinned, beautiful, curvy, and agile girl, has worked for four years at Maverick Group as the CEO's secretary. She started working at the age of twenty.
Misha lives alone in Sydney, separated from her parents to seek her fortune. With her abilities, she is able to compete with many other applicants. In fact, she received a scholarship from her office to continue her education.
That morning, as usual, Misha was waiting for the bus at the bus stop. She was ready to jostle with other passengers, a habit she had developed over the past four years.
"Late waking up?" Sora asked, suddenly standing next to her.
"Yes. My body feels very tired. I worked overtime until one last night."
"Have you eaten?"
"Not yet. What do you want to eat this early?" Misha glanced at the watch on her wrist.
The bus arrived a few minutes later. They both immediately got on and stood until they arrived at the office bus stop.
Arriving at the bus stop, they headed to the locker room to put on their work clothes. As usual, the room was full of employees getting ready before starting work.
Misha finished first. She went to her desk, opened emails, printed documents, and prepared to take them to the CEO's room.
"A lot of work today," she muttered softly.
Soon, a voice she knew well was heard from behind her.
"Misha, come to my room."
Arion Maverick, the CEO of her workplace.
"Yes, Sir."
Misha followed Arion, carrying a pile of files.
"These are the files that need to be signed, Sir. And at ten o'clock, there will be a meeting with Mr. Nairo on the fourth floor."
"Hm."
Arion was always cold to his staff, except to Misha. Four years of working together had made them quite understand each other's characters.
"I got an invitation for Saturday. Accompany me," Arion said without turning around.
"Yes, Sir."
"Use this to buy a dress, shoes, and a bag." Arion handed over his card.
That habit is what made Misha accumulate many luxury goods. Arion often took her to various events, both office and family events. For him, Misha was quite reliable.
"How long do I have to keep following this man? Why doesn't he just find a companion?" Misha complained inwardly.
She opened her cellphone, read the event theme, and contacted her favorite boutique.
Not long after that, Mira from accounting came.
"This is a file from accounting, Miss Misha."
"Thank you, Mira."
"Arion is getting more handsome lately," Mira whispered, smiling amused.
Misha shook her head. "Don't be too loud. Someone might hear."
After checking the file, Misha went into Arion's room.
"Excuse me, Sir. I have checked the file from accounting. There is no cost swelling."
"Okay. Tell Nairo to bring the file. I will decide today. You don't need to attend the meeting. Finish yesterday's planning."
"Yes, Sir."
Misha contacted Mr. Nairo, then went back to work on completing the planning for the new branch office in Melbourne.
At 12:15, she still hadn't eaten. She was used to waiting for Arion to return before leaving her desk.
Arion had a secretary and three other assistants, but only Misha did he trust completely.
"Eat." Arion put a food box on Misha's desk, then left without waiting for an answer.
Misha sighed softly, then took her food to the pantry.
"Got lunch from the boss again," said her colleague.
"Because I was late for a break."
"Eat quickly. Your boss will be angry again."
Misha chuckled.
Soon, Kaizer appeared. "Misha, eating here again?"
"Yes. Given food by Mr. Arion."
"So sad. Your boss is too hard."
"Not really. He bought the food."
Kaizer just mumbled, but his attention was clear.
"Want me to take you home later? I'm passing by your boarding house area."
"No need. I have to pick up Boss's order after work."
"Working at night?"
"It should have been this afternoon. But Boss is still in a meeting. So I'll just take it later."
"Want me to take you?"
"No need. The office driver will also send it."
Kaizer was about to continue speaking, but Misha was already standing.
"Sorry. The boss is calling me."
Misha returned to Arion's room.
"Excuse me, sir. Is there anything I can help with?"
"Prepare yourself. Come with me to the branch office. There's a problem there. Contact the accounting department to follow."
"Yes, sir."
Misha took her laptop and contacted the driver, as well as the accounting department. They went down and went straight to the car. She opened the door for Arion before sitting in the front seat.
Upon arriving at the branch office, Misha helped Arion until the problem was resolved. The clock showed 22:00 when they came out.
"We're going back now," Arion said. But the security guard stopped them.
"Sorry, sir. The road is closed due to a landslide."
"Is there an alternative road?"
"There isn't another option, Sir. The others are completely flooded."
"Misha, secure a place to stay."
"Yes, Sir."
Within five minutes, Misha found the only available accommodation: a modest guest house close to the office.
"The closest place is this guest house, Sir. At least you'll have somewhere to rest."
"Let's head there."
As they made their way, the rain poured heavily. Misha was frightened but kept quiet.
Once they reached the guest house, Misha stepped out into the rain to arrange for a room.
"Three rooms, please," Misha requested.
"Apologies, but we only have two available," the clerk replied.
Misha quickly realized what that meant: if they took a room, Harris would have to sleep in the car.
"Alright, we'll take just two."
She led Arion to his room, then handed one key to Harris.
"Here's your room key, Sir. Could I borrow the car key? I left something inside."
"I'll get it for you. It's pouring out there."
"No need, Sir. It's just some personal items."
Misha grabbed an umbrella, headed for the car, and succumbed to exhaustion, falling asleep inside.
When Arion returned after retrieving his cellphone, he was taken aback to find Misha there. After confirming the rooms were indeed full, it dawned on him that she had made a sacrifice for Harris's comfort.
Without saying much, Arion picked Misha up and carried her to his room. The receptionist opened the door, and Arion laid her down gently, making sure to keep his distance as he noticed her peaceful state. He settled on the side of the bed, placing a pillow in between them as a barrier.
The next morning, Misha woke up yawning, feeling refreshed until she spotted the ceiling above her and suddenly sat up.
"Wait, didn't I sleep in the car last night?"
Turning her head, she noticed Arion still fast asleep.
Misha covered her mouth in shock. She quickly went to the bathroom, splashed some water on her face, and arranged for a helicopter pick-up.
"Good morning, Sir," she greeted when Arion finally awoke.
"Mm-hmm."
"I'm sorry, Sir. I think I might have a habit of sleepwalking."
Arion stared at her for a moment. "I carried you here."
Misha looked down, feeling embarrassed. "Sorry about that, Sir."
"You could've just told me there were only two rooms. I wouldn't have minded sharing a bed."
As he made his way to the bathroom, Misha was left with a whirlwind of thoughts.
"Do I really come off as someone who needs to share a bed?" she muttered, feeling annoyed.
Before long, the helicopter arrived, and the three of them, Arion, Misha, and Harris prepared to head back to Sydney.
