Regardless of being able to use magic I haven't gotten the ability to train. After a month of gaining my powers I haven't gotten any sort of training. My mother is a gifted Energy mage and since there aren't any other mages in town we weren't able to find anybody suitable. Living along the very southern region of Valencia isn't the best due to the small dosage of people. Plus the fact that besides Wayward and a few other small towns lining the border there are only two cities before reaching the Valletta Range which is nearly impossible to cross.
All of this results in absolutely zero chance of me getting proper training with magic unless I depart for Valletta to attend the Valletta Magical Society. They're the ones who wrote most of the books I've been reading in the library and hold a small school-like program. They are also the most prominent magic guild in all of Valencia.
While I have asked about it there are a few hiccups in getting there, the first is they only accept reasonable adept mages who are at least Eredict ranked in my specific magic type. Second, the journey there is extremely unreasonable since unless I cross the Valletta Range, known as Dragon Hell which isn't happening which means I have to go around it which will take me two years to get there rather than half a year. Third! They only accept people who are aged fourteen or higher, I am currently aged six. Finally! Money. It costs a lot to take your son all the way to Valletta located in the western region of Valencia from the most southern region. As well as paying for basically a tuition for all my training.
This all combined makes it highly unlikely but my mother had something to say about money and acceptance. My only chance at becoming a proper wizard. Obviously the main reason I want to learn magic is because I want to pull lots of hot girls and start my own harem. Magic seems like the best way to get that.
Mother: While taking you there is off the cards until you are at least twelve I used to be a member of the Valletta Magical Society and a high ranking one at that. If you can prove to me you're serious about being a powerful wizard I will get some books about Liquid magic and if you can reach Eredict before your twelfth birthday I will personally have you sent there free of charge.
Father: Honey? Are you sure about this?
Mother: If he wants to be a mage I think he should have the chance. Remember that I ran away from home to pursue magic. I want our son to have that chance I never had.
Father: Hm, fine if you insist. But I also want him to learn swordsmanship before he can go, at least the basics.
Mother: Then that's our plan. You must learn both Eredict Liquid magic and basic swordsmanship.
In the present
The books arrived yesterday so it's time to start practicing. I need to find a good spot to train at, it needs to be far away but not too far from my house. I should go exploring to find a good spot then. I headed out straight after breakfast and began exploring past my house.
Since it can't be too far, anywhere near the village is a no go, it's at least a ten minute walk from our house to there. Behind my house was mostly just grass fields spanning off as far as the eye could see but just a small walk away another hill about the same height as the one my house rested on.
The hill was much smaller than my house but it was empty and easy to practice near. With long fields surrounding it to launch my attacks onto. Settling down on the hill, books in my hand and a small cup of water in the other I began.
Since I haven't done water magic yet I doubt I could do advanced magic like diluting my mana with the water in my body to make copious amounts of water so I was going to practice with this cup.
The book described producing it like feeling the tingly feeling that could be felt rather faintly around my body and trying to pull it into my hand before releasing it through my palm into the water and then using my hand to manipulate it.
I stood up, eyeing the cup and holding my breath. Trying to sense a faint tingling feeling but unlike the book it was not in fact a light feeling rather when I focused on it, the feeling was overwhelming as if it was going to take over my body. Clenching my right hand I tried to force the feeling into my hand. To no avail.
I returned that day and laid in my bed. Why didn't it work? Do I just need to practice more? That must be it. I returned to the hill with my books and cup of water for the next month slowly trying to master water control. Until one day.
I once again made my descent down my hill before arriving at the training hill and sitting down. I would spend the first bit trying to feel for the feeling which I learnt was my mana. Until I could finally grasp it and tried to push it into my hand. It felt like it got closer with every attempt after the last thirty days until today.
My mana finally circulated to my hand! I aimed it at the water and propelled it out as it absorbed into the water. While my mana was invisible and didn't make a physical reaction to being applied into the water I could tell when it had entered. I lifted my hand up as the water in the cup arose and followed. I slowly aimed it towards the end of the hill and shot my hand forward. Propelling more mana into the water as it fired forward. It shot about ten metres forward before landing on the side of the hill, splashing out everywhere.
I did it! I finally used magic for the first time! Holy crap!
