Fu City. The streets were exceptionally crowded these past few days, with pedestrian traffic comparable to a top-tier city, all thanks to Kaito's speech at Fulin Pokémon High School.
Kaito, wearing his celebrity two-piece set—a baseball cap and sunglasses—walked leisurely through the streets, unnoticed, fully realizing the extent of his influence. The huge number of visitors was single-handedly boosting the city's economy.
The main gate of Fulin Pokémon High School was completely blocked by a sea of people. Kaito arrived at a deserted dead-end alley outside the school.
"It's quite strange. In the past, I always walked into school, but this is the first time trying this way of entering."
Kaito was then enveloped by dazzling Psychic Power. Teleport! Suddenly, his figure vanished, reappearing in a deserted corner inside the school.
He went upstairs to the principal's office. The principal worriedly asked Teacher Huang, Kaito's homeroom teacher, if Master Kaito had arrived.
"No need, Teacher, I'm already here," Kaito's voice came from outside the door.
The Alma Mater Speech
It was noon. The large training ground of Fulin Pokémon High School was completely filled with people. Kaito emerged from a side passage, his simple white T-shirt looking striking.
Almost instantaneously, a fervent cheer erupted from the audience. Kaito glanced around briefly, feeling as if he were at a concert.
The system notified: Identity Quest: Give a speech at your alma mater after achieving success... Quest Reward: 5000 Fame Points, Title (Young and Accomplished).
Kaito stood before the microphone, signaling for quiet. "Welcome everyone to my alma mater, Fulin Pokémon High School. I believe you all know me. My name is Kaito, and my nickname is Master."
Kaito recounted his journey. His speech was quite successful, stirring the emotions of many people.
"My speech ends here. Next, there will be another activity. If you are willing, you can participate."
The system notified: Quest Completed: Give a speech at your alma mater after achieving success. Quest Reward: 5000 Fame Points, Title (Young and Accomplished).
Kaito continued: "Next, I will invite a member of the audience onto the stage to have a battle with me. This will be my first on-screen battle."
The images on the screens began to change, finally settling on a very excited, pretty face: Long Yuling!
Kaito was stunned. Long Yuling?! He realized there had been some manipulation to ensure a strong opponent.
Long Yuling looked delighted and quickly stood up. The audience erupted in fervent cheers. This was destined to be a highly anticipated battle!
The First On-Screen Battle
Kaito collected his thoughts. An opponent who is Long Yuling versus an ordinary Gym Leader—he would gain much more Fame Points.
The system notified: Identity Quest: Defeat Long Yuling. Quest Content: As a Trainer, you need to defeat the favored daughter of heaven in everyone's eyes. Quest Reward: Random Secret Treasure.
Kaito and Long Yuling stood on opposite sides. "This is our first true battle, isn't it?"
"Yes, I've been battling you in games before, and finally, I have the chance to battle offline! Please don't hold back!" Burning fighting spirit blazed in her eyes.
Kaito silently compared her to Nemona from the games—both battle enthusiasts, but Long Yuling was more attractive and possessed the aura of a seasoned general.
The next moment, both simultaneously threw out their Poké Balls.
Kaito sent out Gardevoir.
Long Yuling sent out Garchomp!
Garchomp's profile: Name: Garchomp, Name: None, Ability: Rough Skin, Type: Dragon-type, Ground-type, Level: Lv. 67 (Quasi-Elite Four-tier), Individual Values: All 31, Skills: Dragon Pulse, Fire Blast, Dragon Rush, Earthquake..., Egg Moves: Outrage, Twister, Potential: Champion-tier.
Kaito quickly assessed the situation. He chose Gardevoir to slay the Dragon.
"Taunt!" Kaito shouted.
"Swords Dance!" Long Yuling's command was half a beat slower.
A mass of black gas spread from Gardevoir's body. Garchomp had just begun to use Swords Dance when Taunt landed, preventing it from continuing. Kaito's prediction was successful!
Kaito quickly commanded: "Psychic Terrain!"
A pink energy rippled across the field, increasing the power of Psychic-type moves and granting immunity to priority moves.
Long Yuling quickly shouted: "Dragon Claw!" "Since you won't let us power up, we'll just attack directly!"
Dragon Claw roared in, carrying terrifying power. But the problem was: Gardevoir is Fairy-type.
Without the slightest hesitation, Kaito loudy commanded: "Teleport to dodge." He conveyed the second command telepathically: "Psychic!"
Gardevoir vanished, and Garchomp struck empty air. Garchomp quickly turned, seeing Gardevoir behind it, gathering powerful Psychic energy for a single strike.
Long Yuling gazed at Garchomp, gritting her teeth, but a deep look of excitement appeared on her face. This kind of evenly matched battle, where I have to rack my brains to come up with countermeasures!
"Dragon Rush, let's go all out against him!" She had to take a different approach!
Kaito has successfully nullified Long Yuling's setup and forced a desperate move! Will Garchomp's Dragon Rush be enough to break through Gardevoir's Fairy-type defense and Psychic speed?
