Chapter 188 - Chapter 188 Kneeling and Pleading

"long live the storm!"

"Long live the liberator!"

"Lannister dogs, surrender quickly."

"Surrender quickly, Lannister dogs, the Kingslayer is dead!"

Bronze Yohn ordered his Vale cavalry to set fire to the painstakingly constructed siege towers in the Lannister western camp. The flames roared, and tongues of fire spread.

The entire area outside Riverrun seemed to be ablaze, truly a Field of Fire.

The soldiers and civilians in the city lined the sandstone walls, shouting Lord Gendry's name, shouting "long live the storm!" and "Savior of Riverrun." On every bastion, the banner of House Tully flew: a silver trout leaping, against a wavy red and blue background.

Lord Tytos Blackwood led the defenders out of Riverrun, and with attacks from two sides, the Lannister western camp completely collapsed, their Longspear formations annihilated. Both the Lannister northern and western camps were shattered.

"Ser Edmure." Lord Tytos first rescued Edmure, who had been imprisoned for a long time. Ser Edmure Tully was a burly young man with auburn hair and a fiery red beard, but now his breastplate was covered in scratches and dents from the war, and his red and blue cloak was stained with blood and dust.

"Who has come? Is it my sister Catelyn and my nephew Robb?" Edmure rubbed his eyes, still somewhat dazed. He looked utterly exhausted and haggard from a series of battles and stress, with a bandage still wrapped around a wound on his neck.

Edmure didn't know what had happened, only that the shouts of battle had reached the sky, followed by the rout of Lannister soldiers. He had thought it was the northern army launching an attack.

"It's not your nephew, Lord Edmure, it's—well, you'll know when you see him?" Lord Tytos brought Ser Edmure to meet the reinforcements and the liberator.

Lord Gendry waited quietly below Riverrun, beside the ruins of the burnt western camp's siege tower. Lord Tytos led the captive Edmure to pay respects to him first.

Lord Gendry dismounted his black steed, stood there, watching the fierce flames, and listening to the warriors' cheers.

The feeling of victory was so sweet. He wanted to win, to win better, more gloriously, and more thoroughly. If war did not serve politics, then it was meaningless.

I am the warrior, I am the storm, I am the power.

Ser Barristan and red-haired Anguy stood beside Lord Gendry, with Goldcloaks behind him. Also beside Lord Gendry were Bronze Yohn, Grafton of the Vale, Redfort, Lord Jason of Seaguard, Ser Boggs of the Claw Peninsula, and Lord Jak, among others.

Lord Tytos recognized Lord Gendry at a glance, the tall warrior in black scale plate armor and a golden cloak, who had removed his helmet to reveal a face of triumph and a slight smile. He was like a fierce storm, possessing the strength of a thousand men. His figure was agile and strong, taller than everyone else, and he stood in the most prominent position.

Lord Gendry's physique and appearance strongly showed the characteristics of House Baratheon, a strong lineage. His clear blue eyes, smooth, straight short hair, and masculine physique. Lord Gendry's appearance was as handsome as the King in his youth, and he was even slightly taller.
