Shisshin and San'ise weren't actually Kurenai's teammates after graduating as ninjas. Kurenai's real teammates had already died on the battlefield of the Third Shinobi World War!
However, for the Chunin Exams, teams had to consist of three people, so Kurenai teamed up with Shisshin and San'ise, who only had two members!
Shisshin and San'ise were originally on a team together, but their other member died on the battlefield. They weren't the same age as Kurenai either; they were the same age as Kakashi, a year younger than Kurenai!
San'ise was a little kid with cool black hair, and a hint of arrogance on his face. Clearly, he was very confident about being able to become a Chunin this time!
He also had a Tachi on his back, so it looked like he was a master swordsman!
Shisshin wasn't bad-looking either, with his rare blue hair and a faint, ethereal aura even at a young age!
Kurenai's beauty went without saying; she possessed a charming aura that made both San'ise and Shisshin glance at her repeatedly. However, they were only admiring her beauty; they didn't have any other thoughts. After all, they had just met, and she was their senior. Her strength was likely superior to theirs, so they wouldn't dare to have any thoughts of that nature!

On a tree trunk not far from Kurenai and her team, three shadowy figures silently appeared. One of them looked at the three and said!
"Indeed, this team is clearly stronger than the ones we killed before. They probably all possess Chunin-level combat power. We must be careful!"
Another of the three shadowy figures calmly looked at them and spoke in a low voice!
"Yes! Let's set up a trap first! We must eliminate those three Konoha brats!"
The last shadow spoke as well, his tone filled with intense bloodlust!
The three shadows looked at each other, then scattered in three different directions with a whoosh!
"Shisshin, San'ise, be careful, I felt killing intent just now!"
Kurenai, who was just about to leave, suddenly sensed a hidden killing intent. Her delicate body trembled slightly, and then she pretended to be nonchalant as she whispered to San'ise and the other.
"Where?"
San'ise and Shisshin were both startled when they heard this, but quickly calmed down. They also pretended not to notice, and quietly asked Kurenai, but their eyes held a hint of respect when they looked at her. Indeed, this senior was much stronger than them!
"Let's go, we're going to the Central Tower now!"
Kurenai glanced towards the Central Tower and moved forward, speaking calmly in a low voice.
"I don't know, but it seems we're being watched, and the other party isn't weak!"
Her voice was very soft, only Shisshin and San'ise could hear her.
"Haha! We'll definitely be the first team to reach the Central Tower!"
Shisshin laughed heartily as he followed Kurenai, and San'ise also followed with a proud expression.

Kurenai's low voice sounded again. Neither San'ise nor Shisshin replied, they simply followed Kurenai.

The kunai and shuriken around them quickly arrived in front of Kurenai and the others, but they were all blocked by the three of them, and the sound of metal clashing rang out continuously!

As Kurenai and the others blocked the Kunai and Shuriken, a strange noise echoed above them. Startled, they looked up, their expressions changing instantly!
Nine thick, cone-shaped wooden stakes were hurtling down towards them. They were too late to dodge, and they couldn't possibly perform hand seals for a Ninjutsu in time!
"Konoha-Style: Flying Leaf Dance!"
In this moment of crisis, a determined look flashed in San'ise's eyes as he acted, using the Konoha-Style swordsmanship!
Kurenai and Shisshin only saw a flash of white light, and the cone-shaped tips of all nine wooden stakes were sliced off!
Their speed was also slowed down, so they were no longer a threat. Kurenai leaped and kicked away all the stakes!
"San'ise, are you alright?"
After landing, Kurenai asked San'ise in a low voice, her expression grave. San'ise's face was pale; it was clear that the Konoha-Style: Flying Leaf Dance he had just used had exceeded his body's limits, and his chakra had been completely depleted!
This made Kurenai's heart sink. She hadn't expected the enemy's trap to be so powerful. They had lost a combatant before the enemy had even appeared!
Then, Kurenai's pupils constricted. She raised her head, and a figure appeared in front of her. With a glance, Kurenai realized they were surrounded by three enemies!
"You're not participants in the Chunin Exam?"
Seeing the enemies' attire, Kurenai exclaimed in surprise, her eyes filled with more wariness. The enemies weren't examinees, so they couldn't even hand over the Heaven and Earth Scroll in exchange for leaving!
"Heh heh, of course, we're not examinees. We're here to slaughter all of you examinees!"
The figure in front of Kurenai let out a strange laugh!
"Not a single one of you died in our trap, and we only lost one member's combat strength. I have to give you credit for that! But today, you're all destined to die here! Blame yourselves for being Konoha ninjas!"
"Attack!"
