Chapter 85 - Chapter 85 Mr. Gar's Preview

When Klein saw Mr. Garr come to his door, he knew that the other party must already know about the commission he had received.

He stated bluntly, "I have no intention of handing over the investigation results to that employer. In fact, I took on this commission out of curiosity about you, but so far I haven't found any useful information."

Odis smiled and said, "Detective, being overly curious isn't always a good thing."

Then he stood up and said, "I think Asiburn will send someone to cancel the commission tomorrow. I'm sorry to have caused you to lose a business deal."

Klein realized that Mr. Garr was about to take action: "It's alright, the deposit won't be refunded to him."

He smiled slightly; he had already received a £10 deposit.

Odis went to the window and looked at the fog that was thickening again outside. He suddenly said, "In this kind of weather, it's easy for a fire to start. I heard that the Asiburn family's fire-fighting equipment has been outdated for a long time."

Klein paused for a moment: it was foggy outside, not dry weather.

He said, "I hope no innocent people will lose their lives in the fire."

"Probably not." Odis turned her gaze away from the window and gave Klein a deep look. "It's getting late, so we'll take our leave now. I'll write to you if I need anything in the future."

Klein smiled and said, "I look forward to your patronage."

Watching Mr. Gard get into the luxurious carriage, Klein sighed, thinking to himself: Mr. Gard sensed I meant no harm, so he warned me by "foreshadowing" that the Asiburn house would catch fire tonight. Heh, looks like the Backlund fire department will be quite busy tonight.

Thinking of this, he smiled and shook his head: Why doesn't Mr. Garr consider bribing me with money? I'm easy to talk to when it comes to gold pounds.

...

On the return journey in the carriage, Odis instructed Mandy: "If Asiburn sends someone to find you tomorrow, do not see him."

"Wait until he comes to you on his own before you see him."

"If his gift has impressed you, then this matter is settled, but you should still keep a close eye on this lord from now on."

If Asiburn still had any designs on the "Nanmu Ballroom," Odis would have no choice but to eliminate it completely.

However, he was generally unwilling to go that far, since killing a lord in Backlund would cause a huge sensation.

Mandy nodded and said, "I will keep it within limits."

Odis simply grunted in response and said nothing more.

He first took a carriage to the "Nanmu Dance Hall," and then used a teleportation array to return to the herbal medicine shop.

In the backyard of the herbalist's shop, Odis began selecting extraordinary weapons, which he planned to use himself that night.

Previously, similar tasks were always entrusted to extraordinary mercenaries, but after Odis's advancement, he also gained considerable combat power, so he decided to set a fire himself.

Odis was well aware of the bodyguard strength of the Asiburn family. This millionaire had hired more than a dozen bodyguards, including one Sequence 8 and two Sequence 9 extraordinary individuals.

With the element of surprise and the aid of extraordinary weapons, Odis was quite confident.

The weapons that "Leader" and "Lelouch" had used before were obviously not suitable for "Mr. Gal. So he chose a rifle and a sword, took out his stock of four "supernatural incendiary bombs", and made six new ones himself.

After completing all these preparations, Odis, as usual, sold medicine at the front desk.

As usual, Odis told his servant, Kena, to leave first, and that he had something to do the next morning, asking the servant to process some herbs that needed to be prepared.

Odis rested for a while, locked the door, and took a carriage home.

He didn't know whether "Mechanical Heart" would symbolically monitor him after the Kapin case, so after arriving home, he pretended to read a book for a while, drank a cup of hot water, and then went back to his bedroom to turn off the lights and go to sleep.

After drawing the curtains, Odis quickly arranged her bed before quietly going to the basement.

Odis first disguised himself. Of course, he couldn't use the identities he had already "created" to commit arson. He put on a beard, wore a long-brimmed baseball cap, and pulled the brim down very low.

Although this appearance looks somewhat suspicious, it doesn't really reveal Odis's true appearance.

Next, Odis put on a dark knight's outfit and a loose gray coat. Finally, using the spatial magic circle connected to the "Wilderness of Knowledge," he took out the extraordinary weapon he had prepared beforehand and carried it in a long cloth bag.

There are also two "teleportation arrays" in the basement of No. 77 Hailin Avenue.

One of the magic circles led to his rented hideout in the dilapidated apartment building, and this was the first time the magic circle had been used.

The other magic circle was originally set to 176 River Bend Avenue, but Odis recently planned to secretly establish a new base, so the magic circle has not yet been marked with a target.

After checking his belongings again, Odis left home through the teleportation array and quietly jumped out of the window of his apartment building. Under the cover of night, he quickly walked through three or four streets before taking a taxi to the street where Asiburn was located.

This street is home to many wealthy people and officials, has bright streetlights, and police patrol it extensively.

To avoid attracting the attention of the patrol officers, Odis used the alleys in the streets to evade the occasional patrol officers.

Upon arriving at the wall of the Asiburn family's house, Odis did not immediately rush in. Instead, after observing the surrounding terrain, he went to the villa to the left of the Asiburn family's house.

Odis already knew about the surrounding area. The family that owned the villa had recently gone on vacation to Dixi Bay, and many of their servants had gone with them. Now, only the butler and a few servants were left to look after the villa.

Odis easily slipped past the steward and servants and quietly sneaked into the courtyard.

The two courtyards were adjacent to each other. When they reached the middle of the courtyard, Odis threw a "supernatural incendiary bomb" into the Asiburn family's courtyard.

The incendiary bomb contains a highly flammable liquid rich in spiritual energy and has a spiritually activated fuse that, when triggered, uses air pressure to cause the incendiary bomb to burst open.

Whew~

Within a few meters of where the incendiary bomb landed, intense flames two to three meters high ignited, instantly setting everything in that area ablaze, and the fire quickly intensified.

Four or five seconds later, the spiritual energy was exhausted, and the "whooshing" sound, like that of a blower, disappeared.

But by this time the flames had spread to a range of five or six meters, and all the plants within that range were ignited.

Asiburn's bodyguards were the first to discover the fire, shouting for help as they ran to get water hoses.

The sudden outbreak of fire startled the servants of the Asiburn household, who, still half-asleep, rushed out in their pajamas to fight the blaze.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

People in the surrounding courtyards also woke up, and the vicious dogs kept in captivity barked incessantly. When the butler and servants saw that the neighbor's house was on fire, they rushed over to help put it out, and for a time, the surrounding villas were plunged into chaos.

Odis had already taken advantage of this opportunity to sneak into the Asiburn family's yard from the back of the villa.

While everyone was busy putting out the fire, Odis threw a "supernatural incendiary bomb" into the first-floor lobby, and the first floor immediately burst into flames.

The bodyguards who remained in the villa had already spotted Odis. Some immediately went to protect their employer, some rushed towards Odis to stop her, and others went to get their shotguns.

Odis did not linger in the fight. He nimbly climbed to the second floor using the windowsill and then dropped a "supernatural incendiary bomb" from there.

As he was going up to the third floor, two bodyguards tried to stop him on the stairs, but the incident happened so suddenly that they didn't have time to bring their weapons.

Seeing that Odis was alone and not very strong, the two bodyguards rushed down and punched the arsonist.

Odis strode forward and, with lightning speed, grabbed one of the bodyguards' arms, pulling him along with the force of his punch, while simultaneously tripping him, causing the bodyguard to fall heavily to the ground.

Then, Odis suddenly moved close to another bodyguard and, taking advantage of the other's inability to retaliate, punched him in the armpit, knocking him down.

Odis did not linger in the fight, and quickly went up to the third floor, where he also threw down a "supernatural incendiary bomb".

The villa was only three stories high. Odis didn't even bother looking for Asiburn. Instead, he quickly went up the stairs to the roof and locked the door to the roof from the outside.

The bodyguards following him, fearing an ambush, dared not easily step forward to kick down the door.

As the fire inside the villa grew larger, they coughed from the fumes as they helped their employers and family escape, and no one kept an eye on the arsonist anymore.

On the rooftop, Odis crouched down, opened his cloth bag, and took out a rifle. The scope of this rifle was very large, even thicker than a normal telescope.

Odis calmly inserted a golden bullet, then chambered the chamber and glanced into the yard.

The "super incendiary bomb" quickly made the fire inside the building uncontrollable, and with no hope of putting it out, the butler began directing the servants to salvage valuable furniture, artwork, and other valuables.

The Asiburn family, under the cover of bodyguards, coughed as they made their way into the yard without incident.

When Odis saw the two bodyguards in the yard leading dogs to protect their employer, he decisively opened fire and killed the vicious dog.

The bullets on his rifle were nothing special; what was special was the scope, which used magic circles and spiritual materials to provide Odis with certain guidance.

It has a similar intelligent aiming function to the ones used in old video games, allowing this rifle to hit targets 100% of the time within 300 meters.

The two bodyguards holding the dog immediately realized that a bullet had killed the vicious dog. They jumped into the flower bed, hiding behind the flowers and plants while searching for their target and shouting, "Gunman! Gunman!"

The gunshot and the shout caused everyone in the courtyard to scream and run for their lives. Just as Asiburn was about to escape, Odis fired another shot at the ground in front of him.

Asiburn ran back quickly, but Odis on the rooftop calmly fired another shot, which hit the ground in front of Asiburn again.

Suddenly a bodyguard shouted, "On the roof!"

Asiburn looked up at the rooftop, and when he saw Odis holding a gun, he raised his hands and knelt down on the ground with a thud in Odis's direction.

He pleaded, shouting, "I can give you all my money! Please spare me and my family."

On the rooftop, Odis smiled slightly. At this moment, killing Asiburn would be too good for him.
