Brad was so frightened that the hairs on his body stood on end.
Odis looked up and said, "This fellow has been hanging up there for a while now. Look, he's almost turned into a dried-up corpse."
Brad was almost in tears: Whether he turned into a dried-up corpse or not is none of my business!
"Let's hurry," Odis urged again. "We must reach that village before Eleanor catches up with us."
After saying that, he turned and left without waiting for Brad.
Brad quickly followed, noticing many more corpses in the woods, hanging there swaying precariously as if on swings, adorned by something that looked like black hair.
Brad no longer felt tired. He was afraid that Odis would leave him there, so he used all his strength and potential to try to keep up with the people in front of him.
"It seems you didn't do a proper inspection before buying this castle," said Odis, who was walking ahead. "Some of the people hanging above us are over a decade old, while others haven't even started to rot yet."
"People should be going missing around here all the time."
Brad was too weak to speak, and while he was surprised, he tried his best to keep up with the figure in front of him.
After walking for another half hour, just when Brad was about to give up, the view suddenly opened up before them, and they arrived at the cemetery that Odis had visited during the day.
Odis was slightly taken aback: "Huh, you actually came out like this."
He had originally planned to wander around inside a few times. Although the hanging corpses inside made him feel a chill, it was a good way to stall for time.
Brad, sweating profusely, sat on the ground, panting heavily for a while, before looking at the surrounding graves and asking, "Where is this?"
Odis smiled and said, "Miss Eleanor's house."
Brad swallowed hard and suddenly felt a chill down his spine; he was no longer hot at all.
Odis warmly invited, "Come, come, say hello to Eleanor's family. Perhaps you can even find Eleanor's grave among the tombstones."
Brad was so frightened that he trembled all over, and his face turned deathly pale.
At that moment, a piercing creaking sound suddenly came from the cemetery, as if a series of damaged doors were being opened, or as if some wooden object was being lifted up.
Then, from behind each grave, one hand after another emerged; some were nothing but bones, while others were covered in rotting flesh.
Judging from their appearance, they must often crawl out of their graves, and each of them knew the way well, quickly standing beside their own graves.
Odis reached into his backpack: "Look how friendly they are, they came out to greet us!"
He smiled and said, "No need to be so polite. Go back and lie down; that's the best way to treat a guest."
Brad felt his legs trembling, and a warm sensation in his crotch caused liquid to flow down to his feet.
Then, there were strange noises in the woods. By the moonlight, Brad saw that the corpses on the trees were slowly crawling down and closing in on them.
After the initial shock, Brad felt less terrified; at worst, he'd just die here.
"My grave is not here." Eleanor emerged from the woods, followed by the castle's steward, head sergeant, and other servants.
Eleanor said coldly, "Many people wanted me dead, but in the end I survived and built graves for those who wanted me dead."
Odis looked around at the corpses and the ghosts that Brad couldn't see, emitting a faint white light; they were completely surrounded.
However, Odis remained calm. The fact that Eleanor had appeared here meant that the official Extraordinary's support was coming soon. She planned to leave after dealing with Odis and the others, or go and deal with the official Extraordinary again.
So Odis said, "If I'm not mistaken, you were the one who set the fire in your village twenty years ago, weren't you?"
"Yes!" Eleanor said frankly, "They say I've sold my soul to the evil god and they want me dead!"
She laughed and said, "These people are ridiculous. When I was little, they were the ones who kept talking about finding ways to become stronger."
"When I found a god who could make people stronger, they said that he was an evil god."
"There was no other way, so I had to sacrifice them to the gods, so that they would all die in agony."
"Then, I built a cemetery here and buried them all in it, so that even in death they would still be under my control and could never escape!"
Odis frowned and said, "You are an Extraordinary being of the 'Witch' pathway, and you seem to be a Sequence 6, but this pathway doesn't have the ability to control corpses and the undead, does it?"
Eleanor smiled and said, "This extraordinary world has many, many secrets, more complex and more bizarre than you can imagine."
She paused and then said, "There's no point in wasting any more time. It will take a long time for your companions to find you, while I'm confident I can take care of you in a minute."
"Wait a minute," Odis said. "I have another question. Why haven't you killed Brad yet?"
"Let me guess, are you trying to use him to attract more people here?"
When Brad heard Odis suddenly mention him, he felt a surge of strength return to him, and he got up and drew the dagger he had prepared beforehand.
"That's right." Eleanor smiled and said, "He has been sending servants here for more than a year, which is why I have been able to control such a large force."
"However, he himself was unaware of this. Although the pendant on his body protected some of his sanity, he was always in a state of being 'bewitched' by me. Only when he was a little more sober would he think of saving himself."
Brad rubbed his head: "I...I killed so many people? And I didn't even realize it."
As he spoke, he held the dagger still and swiftly stabbed at Odis's lower back.
Odis, however, seemed to have eyes in the back of his head. He suddenly grabbed Brad's wrist and shook him violently, causing the dagger to fall to the ground.
Then, Odis pushed Brad down without even glancing at him: "I've always felt there was something wrong with him, but now that his sneak attack has failed, your 'charm' ability is over."
Brad stood there, seemingly trying to recall what he had just done.
Eleanor smiled and said, "I don't know how powerful your witchcraft is, but you are certainly quite clever."
Few can escape being betrayed by their own comrades.
However, Odis's cleverness was no longer of any use. With a wave of her hand, Eleanor summoned the surrounding corpses and undead to swarm towards Odis.
"I need to correct some of your earlier ideas," Odis said, taking a red axe from his bag. "I think the official extraordinary beings should be able to find us soon."
As he said this, he threw the "fire bomb" in his hand toward the altar.
Elena smiled slightly, pointed her finger, and a skeleton jumped up and caught the axe.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
Boom!
A violent explosion rang out, knocking down a pile of corpses. The skeleton that caught the axe was blown to pieces, and many other corpses were set ablaze. However, they felt no pain; their bodies were engulfed in flames as they silently continued forward.
The blank-faced undead were also affected by the explosion, lying there in disarray, creating a gap in the encirclement.
The explosion snapped Brad back to his senses, and the will to survive gave him strength again. He seized the opportunity and ran toward the gap in the encirclement.
The official extraordinary individuals in the distance must have noticed this as well.
But Odis did not rush towards the gap; instead, he charged towards Eleanor, raising his hand: "Imprison!"
Eleanor was also startled by the explosion. She had seen explosions before, but never one so violent.
The key point is that the explosion came from an axe, which is quite unexpected.
When Eleanor came to her senses, she was surrounded by thick liquid and was "imprisoned".
Odis rushed closer: "Death!"
He stretched out his fist and slammed it hard into Eleanor's left shoulder, severely deforming it.
The death of a "Punishment Knight" cannot be avoided with a substitute.
But Eleanor suddenly smiled, grabbing Odis's fist with her uninjured right hand: "If I were just an extraordinary being, I might very well die at your hands today!"
She glanced at the head servant in the castle, who immediately became lifeless and collapsed to the ground.
Enolin's injuries miraculously healed!
Odis's eyes widened; he had never seen such an extraordinary ability before, but he remained calm: "Exile!"
The newly recovered Elolin was pushed away by a tremendous force, and in the blink of an eye, she was far, far away from Odis.
Odis turned and ran toward the gap in the encirclement of corpses and undead, but the gap was already being closed again.
Odis then pulled out a "fire bomb," threw it, and hid behind a tomb.
Boom!
The shockwave from the explosion made Odis's ears ring, and he scrambled forward, escaping through the gap.
After leaving the encirclement, Odis had only run a few steps when he saw Brad standing there blankly, staring in the direction of the altar.
Odis stepped forward, sprinkled a handful of "flying powder," and lifted Brad up by the back of his collar.
As she took flight, Odis threw another "fire bomb" toward the altar. Throughout the entire ordeal, Odis dared not look at the symbols on the altar.
Even so, after Odis threw the "fire bomb" in that direction, he suddenly felt extremely guilty, as if he had done something terribly wrong.
Boom!
The loud explosion brought Odis back to his senses. He saw the thatched hut burning and collapsing, and the altar destroyed.
Odis had just breathed a sigh of relief when she suddenly felt a force pulling her and Brad down.
Having escaped her "exile" status, Enolin now possessed more spider silk. Like a venomous spider waiting in its web, she pulled Odis and Brad closer and closer to her.
