Chapter 218 - Chapter 217 Extravagant "Justice"

Emlyn, the "Moon," momentarily forgot to refute, because he himself knew little about the history the "Hermit" spoke of.

Emlyn knew more about the history of the Quaternary Period and did know that the "Blood Moon Queen" was once the Empress of the Ternsost Empire.

However, he was unaware of the other historical information mentioned by the "hermit".

Emlyn then wanted to offer his usual rebuttal, but the "hermit's" logic was so strong that he couldn't find a point to refute it.

Klein, the "Fool" at the head of the bronze table, exclaimed: "The 'Hermit' is the truly learned one. Because he knows so much, he can provide a logical and historical explanation for any problem he faces."

Alger the Hanged Man was astonished to discover that during the Fourth Age, the "Queen" of the vampires was the Empress of the Ternsost Empire.

Although he had heard that the vampires had also participated in the "War of the Four Emperors", he did not expect that they participated through marriage or political cooperation.

"Justice" Audrey and "Magician" Fors also realized that they seemed to have just heard some very high-level information.

The debate suddenly stopped because "the moon" was pondering how to refute it, and the hall fell silent.

After a few seconds, Alger interrupted the discussion on this issue: "I know how vampires can increase their strength."

Emlyn's attention was immediately diverted: "Um, Mr. 'Hanged Man,' what kind of reward do you need? I can exchange it for some lost history known to the vampires."

Alger smiled and said, "No, we are all members of the Tarot Club, and this kind of information exchange is free."

Klein thought to himself: It's just that the information exchange is free.

He knew perfectly well that what was free was often the most expensive.

"Thank you for your kindness." Emlyn made a preliminary judgment in his mind: What a generous and noble person.

Alger continued, "Vampires can also take potions to advance in rank, but they must be the correct kind."

Emlyn rejected this approach: "But the main ingredients of those potions are from my own kind!"

"I think it depends on your purpose and motivation," Alger said with a smile.

Odis thought to himself, "The 'Down with the Political Commissar' is about to start his deception mode."

"For example, I have a clue about the extraordinary characteristics left behind by a vampire baron. He died in a sudden conflict and didn't have time to find a successor," Alger said.

"And you can use a magic potion to receive this legacy and prevent the vampire's power from being lost."

This item belonged to a great pirate whom Alger knew, but because there was little demand for such extraordinary properties on the high seas, he was never able to sell it.

"Inherit the legacy through potions, so that the power of the vampires will not be lost…" Emlyn repeated the words of the "Hanged Man," feeling that what the man said made a lot of sense.

So he changed his question to, "What price will be paid?"

Odis slowly nodded: You're so easy to fool!

Alger chuckled, "Between 4,000 and 5,000 pounds, but I'll have to find the owner of that extraordinary item to know the exact price."

Emlyn was somewhat taken aback: "5000 pounds?"

He thought to himself: With such a large sum of money, I can bring home several dolls that I've been eyeing for a long time, and I can even get several sets of clothes for all of them!

The experienced Alger did not urge him, and smiled casually, "I know this is a difficult decision. You can take your time to think about it. There's no rush."

"Okay." Emlyn breathed a sigh of relief.

Audrey, who also saw through the Hanged Man's scheme, smiled slightly, but she was no longer a naive girl who had just come into contact with the extraordinary, so of course she wouldn't offer any warnings.

Then Audrey initiated a new deal: "'The Hermit', I have found the 'Eyes of the Spirit Bird' for you."

Odis didn't expect to hear back so quickly: "How much?"

This made him reflect: as members of the Tarot Club became "traitors" to various secret organizations... cough cough, they became members of secret organizations, and their channels not only became wider but also more sophisticated.

"2300 pounds," Audrey said. "Or in exchange for a magical item of similar value."

"There's a discount if you trade with magical items; you only need magical items worth about 2,000 pounds."

She didn't raise the price; that's the price the "Psychological Alchemy Society" offered.

Odis thought to herself: It's a bit expensive, but at least the "Psychological Alchemy Society" accepts barter for magical items.

This is, after all, an organization that only emerged in the last one or two hundred years and has very little accumulation in terms of sealed artifacts.

Odis was originally very wealthy; for some time, his savings had been hovering around £14,000.

If he had only wanted to be an adventurer, he would still be very wealthy.

But he thought that since he had already traveled through time, he should at least be a captain.

Odis did want to seize a ship, but he looked down on ordinary pirate ships, and it was difficult to seize the ships of major pirates.

Moreover, he really wanted to build a ship that he could live comfortably in, so he had to build it himself.

Since we're going to build it, we can't skimp on the money, especially since it's a matter of life and death at sea.

As a result, once the ship was built, we were back to square one.

He did have about £1,500 in savings, but it wasn't enough to last long. He had already exchanged £200 of it for Fairkin, and currently only £1,312.12 sulphurs were available for use.

He also owes the "mysterious queen" £3,000, but he's not in a hurry to pay it back.

After thinking for a moment, Odis said, "I am willing to offer a magical item equivalent to Sequence 7 in the hope of completing this transaction."

Alger glanced at the "Hermit": This guy is very wealthy! I had previously guessed that the organization behind him was having him sell magical items through the Tarot Society's channels, but now it seems that they are his own, otherwise he would not have taken them out to trade the extraordinary materials he needed without asking permission.

Fors had already forgotten how many times the "Hermit" had sold magical items. She always felt that this gentleman had a lot of magical items and would trade one or two whenever he was short of money.

Audrey asked, "Mr. Hermit, what are the abilities and effects of that item?"

"That magical item corresponds to the 'Weapon Master' path of the 'Warrior' class," Odis explained. "Its shape is a silver sword."

"The ability is: as long as you use or wear this weapon, you will have a wealth of experience in combat and weapon use. For example, even if you have never been in contact with firearms before, after wearing this magical item, you will be very knowledgeable about any firearm and have the level of a sniper."

"The negative effects are: if you wear this weapon for more than 30 minutes in total, regardless of whether there is any combat, you will feel sore all over your body, easily get tired, and your spirituality will be in a relatively low state for the next 24 hours."

That was something Odis seized from the fighting arena on King's Road. He hadn't made a move on it until now. Lelouch's account had been deactivated a long time ago, and the official Extraordinary Ones were no longer investigating the case. Making a move on this magical item was no longer dangerous.

Even if the "Psychological Alchemy Society" knew that this was a sealed artifact that Lelouch had seized in the fighting arena, they wouldn't be foolish enough to hand it over to the military.

Finally, Odis concluded, "The negative effect isn't too great, and the abilities are all very practical."

Especially those extraordinary individuals with the "audience" pathway who are below the "hypnotist" level and not very good at combat need such magical items.

After carefully noting it down, Audrey said, "I will ask the seller if they are willing to make the deal, and I will give you an answer by tomorrow at the latest."

"Hmm." Odis nodded.

Audrey then asked the crowd, "Ladies and gentlemen, is there any news of the fruit of the Elder Tree or the blood of the Mirror Dragon?"

"Yes." Emlyn responded without hesitation.

He had previously made a fortune procuring extraordinary materials for a certain great detective, so he always paid close attention to similar information during vampire gatherings.

Before Miss Justice could ask any further questions, he continued, "The fruit of the Elder Tree is priced between 600 and 700 pounds, and the blood of the Mirror Dragon is no more than 100 pounds. I don't remember the exact price."

He gave the seller the original price as he was told, then added, "But you'll have to pay me an extra £100. You know, I have to take risks and spend my time."

"Deal!" As soon as the other party finished speaking, Audrey happily accepted the price.

Just as she had predicted, her financial situation improved dramatically after the New Year. She not only gained control over her share of the assets, but also received a certain amount of dividends every month.

At the same time, she received gifts of jewelry, horses, and famous paintings, with a total value exceeding £20,000.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

As for cash, it wasn't much, only around £5,000, but it was enough for her to complete her promotion and trade some things she liked.

Furthermore, Count Hall's statement that Audrey's contributions to the previous events concerning the "Witch Cult" and the "Aurora Society" led him to reimburse her for any expenses related to mysticism.

Emlyn agreed at first, then asked with some doubt, "How do we complete the transaction?"

Audrey explained with a smile, "Through a sacrifice to Mr. Fool."

Then, with Mr. Fool's permission, she gave a more detailed explanation.

Emlyn was stunned; this kind of transaction was beyond his imagination.

After completing the transaction, Odis asked, "Does anyone have any clues about the 'complete crystal of the Tree of Alaman'? I also need a flower from the Tree of Alaman."

"I have a lead," Emlyn continued. "The crystals are 2,200 pounds, the flowers are 300 pounds, and you will have to pay me 300 pounds as a reward."

He still resented Odis for speaking up for the "sun," so he demanded more money.

Odis smiled helplessly. Another 2800 pounds!

He said, "Give me some time so I can raise the funds."

Emlyn wasn't in a hurry: "No problem."

Then Odis said, "I'm selling an extraordinary property, the Sequence 7 'Briber' from the 'Lawyer' pathway, for £1200."

This was also seized during the crackdown on the 3N Party last year. It had been sitting in the "Knowledge Wilderness" for a long time, and now he plans to dispose of these "stockpiles".

Fors opened his mouth: Another extraordinary trait. When will I be able to accumulate such a talent?

Audrey also noticed: Did Mr. Hermit acquire it from somewhere else through a trade, or was it his own spoils? If it was his spoils, then it means he has killed at least one Sequence 7.

Emlyn also remarked, "Could this 'Hermit' be the leader of some extraordinary organization? He's already sold two items that are equivalent to Sequence 7 today."

Alger, who had connections in this area, said, "I'll keep an eye out for you."

This method is unique in that it's neither highly sought after nor obscure; it just takes some time to find a buyer.

Klein, behind the gray fog, remarked: "The Tarot Club's functions for trading resources and intelligence are becoming increasingly sophisticated."

After everyone had completed their transactions, Alger said to "The Hermit," "Mr. Hermit, I would like to trade with you for information about the 'Wind Angel.'"

"No problem," Odis said. "Still 800 pounds."

"I want to join the deal," Audrey said, raising her hand slightly. "And I also want to trade information about the 'Cherarchs' and 'Pure White Angels'."

Now that she has plenty of money, Audrey wants to complete the deal regarding the "King of Angels" in one go.

Alger was taken aback. He had originally planned to initiate this transaction, using a few hundred pounds to resolve the doubts in his mind.

Based on previous trading habits, other members will definitely join the trade, and in the end, he won't actually spend much money.

But Miss Justice's request for a deal suddenly disrupted his plans.

Audrey was prepared, saying, "I can pay £1,200 on my own."

Alger breathed a sigh of relief. The other members shared the remaining half, and when divided among them, it wasn't much left.

Fors asked first, "Can I include three chapters from 'Spiritual Encounters' in the deal?"

As the main person in charge of the transaction, Audrey nodded: "Okay!"

Having read two chapters, Audrey was eager to see the later chapters.

Klein, sitting at the head of the bronze table, thought to himself: You've finally decided to trade all the chapters of "Spiritual Encounters" to "Justice."

Odis asked Derrick, who was standing nearby, "Do you want to join the deal? I can use the debt from the previous Extraordinary Materials to pay this fee for you again."

"Little Sun" immediately replied, "Yes!"

That was a deal involving the "King of Angels," an important subordinate of the "Ancient Sun God," so he was naturally very interested.

Odis nodded: "I'll pay 300 pounds for you, then we'll be even."

After "Little Sun" thanked him again, Alger immediately said, "I will also join the deal by contributing 300 pounds."

Audrey readily agreed, "Okay!"

Then she said to "Moon": "Mr. Moon, I suggest you also contribute 200 pounds to join the deal. This information is truly amazing."

She made this suggestion entirely out of consideration for the new members, not wanting them to be neglected on their first party.

Emlyn initially wanted to refuse, but then it occurred to him: I could listen to his information and then consult a vampire knowledgeable in history to see if it was true. If not, then I would have a way to refute the "Hermit."

So he immediately said, "I'll join too."

"The World" reiterated, "I'm incorporating some occult knowledge into this transaction."

Audrey immediately agreed, and after agreeing on a price, the transaction officially began.
