Chapter 16 - The System

.

"I'm sorry to say this ma'am but your son may never be able to use magic externally. It seems that the bridge between his bio-field and his soul is refusing to merge. Naturally this is the process determine our magic art."

An older man in an open lab coat explained to a women who was dresse rather fancily. The said boy in question watched his mother face drop in a horrid expression. The doctor took a quick glance over at the young boy in a sorrowful expression.

.

"Mom look! I discovered a new element."

A young Kuro exclaimed in unfiltered child joy. He dashed down a flight of stairs with careful movement, carrying a handheld laptop and a small glowing device.

"Now, you know how Dad has been trying to create a theory that could integrate magic into scientific data?."

Kuro exclaimed in uncontrollable joy, entering the living room that his mother occupied. The said women had turned her head towards her son, a subtle sorrowful frown flashing across her face for a few seconds, gone unnoticed by Kuro.

"Yeah, he's told me a few things about it like how it was impossible to create data from something that's beyond nature."

The mother proclaimed with a subtle raise of her eyebrows at the glowing device her son held. Her first thought was that it was radioactive but she quickly dismissed that idea.

"Well now it isn't impossible! I managed to discover a new particle that exist in a higher spatial dimension. It alters spacetime in such a subtle way that it can interact with physical reality without causing any anomaly, like a phantom particle."

Kuro explained in a tone of absolute excitement at a new discovery that could merge science and magic into one unified field. This was met with a nod from his mother who simply sat and listened, waiting for him to continue.

"Okay so this phantom particle that interacts with our reality is actually created by magic itself. What scientist and magic users fail to realize is that this phantom particle, is the mediator of magical essence. So these interactions carry magical essence to the material universe and allows us to use magic and interact with concepts"

Kuro concluded with a wide smile, his golden eyes shining with bright and innocent joy. Then Kuro clicked his laptop and a few seconds later, the glowing device began to emit a shimmering mist.

"The basic properties of the particle can change from magical to scientific. This means the law of conservation is rendered obsolete. This literally introduces a whole new field of study."

Kuro explained with knowledge a kid his age shouldn't have. This shocked his mother greatly and silence filled the room as she processed the information.

"Kuro, do you understand what you've just discovered?"

.

"Dr. Nasaki , while we don't question, your contributions to the development of our society. We have been questioning your...billion-dollar investments towards your research regarding this 'Phantom' particle that doesn't exist. We have determined you are no longer fit for this project, and we are moving you to the bio-magi department."

An older gentlemen exclaimed to the aforementioned doctor, staring into the man's golden eyes that were stained with dark circles from sleep deprivation.

"I see...very well"

The doctor replied with no other words being said amongst them. He simply turned his back to them and walked away, leaving the door opened as he left as a sign of subtle disrespect.

"I still vote we eliminate him and his family, they know too much"

.

"I'm home."

Jiyo Nasaki exclaimed with a tone of defeat, an exhausted sigh escaping his lips as he stumbled towards his and his wife room. Suddenly, Jiyo was stopped in the middle of his tracks by Kuro who hugged him tight. This made Jiyo's face twist in an exhausted smile, hugging his son back.

"I found it dad! I found the phantom particle!"

Kuro exclaimed with uncontained joy and ignorance to the situation regarding his father. These words immediately brought Jiyo to tears, his energy rejuvenating upon the declaration of the newfound particle.

"Let me see, son."

Jiyo exclaimed with eager, following Kuro to the glowing device that sat upon the table. Jiyo facial expression twisted into shock at witnessing the excess energy spill out into small bursts of packets at the speed of light, creating the physical illusion of smoking wisps exuding from the glowing device.

"It's amazing Kuro! show me the notes son"

Jiyo praised with a round of applause, earning the affection of Kuro considerably. With loving ignorance, Kuro gave his father the blueprints of the device with a wide smile.

"Sorry Kid."

Jiyo exclaimed with a subtle grim expression and before Kuro could react or ask anything, his vision went dark and his body collapsed to the ground in front of Jiyo, who's arm was outstretched and his hand tightened into a fist.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SON-"

.

"I'll be brief in my explanation regarding the power system that governs my reality. First Law: The Conservation of Magic. This means that magic cannot be created nor destroyed but transformed into different types of energies, or in this case magic type. Second Law: Q-Magi Conversion. This means that magic influences physical reality on the quantum scale and abides by an entirely different physics with combination of yours, the viewer."

"These two laws that govern my reality is truth, thus for each storyline branching from the main reality, pieces of each different storyline physics merges into the new branching storyline. Within this current reality, science and magic is one of the same and branches into a concept known as the metaphysical. Only after an individual has achieved perfect control of their magic can they access this realm of understanding and influence a portion of reality."

"Though there is a third law if you have not noticed. The law of Abstract Consciousness. By following the laws of consciousness within your (the viewer) reality, I (the author) influence this reality and give my abstract ideas consciousness and semi-free will under the guise of ascendency"

"There are seven fundamental concepts that govern the storyline multiverse. Space, time, magic, chaos, order, death, & life. Unbeknownst to each individual being introduced or already introduced, they govern one specific conceptual law. I'll let you in on a little secret too, Kuro's forced evolution gave him two conceptual magic types. I'll give you his secondary one. It is the ability to alter causality within the confines of reality (storyline)"

"Thus, gave birth to a new concept. The concept of change."

.

The Present

.

"Enough Miya, you can't overcome my physicality"

Iya exclaimed with a tone of expressed sadness at his sister behavior, avoiding a triple jab in a quick succession, jumping over a leg sweep, and blocking a kick to the side of the head that forced him to skid backwards.

"And who decided that?"

Miya asked with a threatening tone, her words sharp and cold in reflection to her attitude. Each strike honed with precise strength that tore away the very ground from intense pressure. The planet they warred on was barren with no sign of life, allowing for the two of them to release a bit more of their suppressed power.

"Pure Soul Art #1: Dimensional Prison Fold"

Miya then suddenly used Iya as a platform to gain distance by leaping off of his body. Behind her was a trailing wisp of translucent ethereal white energy and as she landed with grace, her finger tapped against the very space itself in a ripple-like effect.

The effect was instant and rapidly began to expand out in a two-dimensional wave within the confines of the third dimensional construct they resided in. This omnidirectional wave phased through organic matter with no alterations.

The 'phantom' particles that were tunneling between the quantum gaps of the multilayered dimensional barrier were forced into physical reality. This resulted in a phenomenon that subtly altered the structure of the fourth dimensional barrier, also known as the birthplace of stories, to higher dimensional entities.

Similar to a light switch being turned on and electrical currents running through the wires to the bulb in a near instant, Miya body was covered in an otherworldly energy. The sheer pressure emitting from the energy itself had tilted the very axis of the planet, shifting its orbital trajectory around a dying star.

Then it happened. The sky darkened with grey clouds and multitudes of silver chains began shooting across the entirety of the atmospheric surface, wrapping around the literal planet and its two surrounding moons.

Iya eyes narrowed sharply at the activation of Miya's soul art, knowing that this specific soul art was meant to contain even a multiversal structure. Thus, he blitzed forward at a speed that surpassed the speed of light. Distance was rendered meaningless when it came to his spatial coordinates and time was but a mere concept.

Despite this unfathomable speed, Iya stopped mere inches away from Miya due to multiple chains restricting certain parts of his body. Iya had then gritted his teeth in frustration at the one technique meant to counter his absolute physical strength.

"Fine. Don't say I didn't warn you"

Iya exclaimed as his body was slowly pulled towards the center of the planet's surface. His ultrarealistic azure-colored eyes flared with intensity, crackling with otherworldly electricity.
