Chapter 3 - The... Will.

She totally changed in that military uniform, she totally changed from the woman she was back on Earth.

A laid-down woman who worked hard to reach her goals, a woman who had no family left, a woman who had almost no friends existent… and all of the sudden she is an Empress of an Empire deemed to fall.

What am I even doing… I was crashing out and now… I'm ready to address those who want to take my head, like if nothing happened… it's a fucking game.

[System: It is no longer a game but the reality, and you have already realized it, you have been in your room for seven days asking God questions why he did this to you. You have now come to the realization the only way to survive is to play the game or more like be real and act real.]

Uh, don't ever try to comfort me again, you are an AI.]

[System: It doesn't change the fact that you have been miserable for the last seven days.]

Fuck you, what should I have done when I woke up? Ohh it's nothing I'm in just a gamethat's about an Empress who everybody wants to kill, an Empress who needs to build an Empire moreover keep it up, oh twenty million people under my rule, and if they rebel I'm fucked, ohh I was a fucking pet shop manager, I don't know shit about technology, police, army or anything, I just played the game when I was bored… fuck you.

[System: You can be angry but that doesn't change anything, emotions worth nothing in a situation that you are in. They want to overthrow you, then publicly execute you, in front of your people.]

Thanks for reminding me.

[System: No problem.]

Well it's all true and what exactly happened. Daisy's been in the same room for seven days, she has been in the game for seven days and all she did was shouting and being emotionally unstable, though it was understandable as everybody would be… but one thing she wasn't shocked or terrorized…

She was furious by the fact that she bought her first house and even passed her driver's license test and then boom she was in the game… and she worked so hard to get those things, she failed three times on the driving test but the fourth time she worked it out and got it… and then she woke up in the game she played when she was bored.

She wasn't happy about it that's for sure, but for her luck the game doesn't start right away but she was in the tutorial zone for that seven days, like a thing to understand what is happening, to get comfortable with the System and what it's capable of doing, to get information of what is happening, it was a beginner guide to the game which she didn't listen to but shut the System off every time, but the seven days have passed and now the game has started with its full strength.

"Uhm Daisy, we should go." Albert said as he didn't understand why she was staring at the mirror making faces and sometimes even whispering to herself.

Though he knew one thing. When people see her in this outfit shit going to happen.

"Yeah we should and fuck them up so get ready with your sword." Daisy said as she turned and opened the door in front of her but what she didn't expect was what was waiting for her.

For some kind of reason… well not really she just didn't listen to the System nor what Albert said, she thought everybody is against her like if she didn't even play the game or totally ignored the plot of it, she got overly surprised when at least thirty Imperial Executioners waited for her standing in a row on the two sides of the hallway, not just that but the personal butler of her and even the maids were there and bending down in respect as she walked out.

Which actually meant one more important thing.

"Everybody heard it right?" Daisy asked as she smiled a bit about her outrage and that a wooden door probably didn't stop the sound coming through.

"We did, your Majesty." The butler, Finn, said as he was still bent down showing her the respect.

"I asked…" She raised her voice. "Everybody heard it right?"

Silence for a bit as Finn finally raised his body facing her. "We did hear everything… D-Daisy."

"Good then let's go." She said as she started walking down the hallway… but she walked in a way.

The Imperial General uniform was a sign of the amount of power in her hand, a sign of a deadly aura as her hand was on the hilt of the sword, her posture was straight and every step was loud, echoing through the hallway.

Her aura commanded respect. Her being commanded respect.

Not just that, but suddenly her memories from the game came back, and she instantly knew where to go… to the grand meeting room, decorated with finely carved wood, the best marble sculptures, and a large window where the sunlight poured through.

System help me. I don't remember the story of the game, who is against me exactly and who is by my side.

[System: The servants of the Imperial palace, the Imperial Executioners as well as the military are on your side as your father was great to them. Out of the twenty noble houses eight with you and the others are on the opposing side or thinking about it, all the counselors are too against you, the majority of the military leadership too, the only remaining on your side is the two Imperial Generals who your father chose. Basically you are in a situation which you would describe as "fucked".]

Ohh, that's very calming from you… she smiled and walked toward the doors. But the biggest dangers are the three kingdoms, yeah?"

[System: Exactly for several reasons. ]

[The three kingdoms are the ones that have the biggest port.]

[They are rich in coal, gold, and silver.]

[With the port they can make alliances and ship soldiers, and last they have already started gathering mercenaries which means they can surpass more than double of your military power, but it can go larger if they make alliances with other kingdoms.]

Fucked is… a very light word for this.

[System: You are deemed to die.]

Ohh… thanks.

[System: You're welcome.]

"What is the plan?" Albert stepped next to her pulling her out of her thoughts once again.

"Uhm… there is no plan." She said this while smiling at him, but it did anything but reassure Albert, and what followed just made it much worse.

She turned around looking at the escort she got, the bodyguard, the maids and Finn the butler, they all looked worried about her, about the future of the Empire and she didn't help them with her word that for sure.

"Albert, you know every servant in the palace, yeah?" She asked as looked into his eyes.

"I do."

"Good, then my last order to y'all and everybody who loyally serves me is that if things go terribly wrong then go and loot the treasury and live a quiet but luxurious life."

Nothing… as she said it just silence fell in, even their breath became quiet as they stared at her with their eyes wide open.

[System: Congratulations, you successfully increased loyalty and trust among your servants.]

Hmm… so it worked, I am a genius. She smiled as turned back facing the door and the two soldiers on the side.

"Open it." She said… but nothing, the door stayed closed as they didn't move an inch. "I said o–"

"We… will die for you, your Majesty." One of the guards on the side suddenly whispered as his eyes were glued to the floor, his right hand shaking a bit as he reached out for the handle and as he opened the door.

Their gazes met for a moment, just a second, but in that second, she understood something that made her chest tighten. For her, it was a game, maybe she can respawn and start over but for them… for them, it was everything.

Life itself. Their end and still, even knowing this, their loyalty did not waver.

When they said they would die for her, they truly meant it. Not because they had nothing to lose, not because they were fearless, but because even in their fear, even when they had families, lives, or dreams beyond this moment, their devotion to her was stronger than all of it.

Their own will, their own safety, their own lives they set all that aside. What mattered was protecting her, defending her, keeping her alive, even if it meant losing themselves.

And in that instant, she felt the weight of it, the terrible truth of what it meant to be someone others would give everything for.

She found her own meaning… her own will.

The will to live as the greatest Empress and the beginning of her journey was behind that door.
