The D-Wheel engines roared on the track as Yusaku's fingers flew across his Duel Disk.
"Activate the effect of [Vision Resonator], and chain the effect of [Synchron Resonator]!"
"First, [Synchron Resonator]'s effect!"
Yusaku shouted.
"When this card is sent from the field to the GY, I can target 1 'Resonator' monster in my GY other than this card and add it to my hand!
I choose [Vision Resonator] in my GY and add it to my hand."
After adding the searched card, Yusaku continued without pause.
"Next, with [Vision Resonator]'s effect, I add the Continuous Spell that lists 'Red Dragon Archfiend' in its text, [Crimson Gaia], from my Deck to my hand!"
Once he'd tucked that card into his hand, Yusaku drew another card out and flipped it up.
"I activate the effect of [Red Lotus King - Flame Crime] in my hand. If I control a Fiend Tuner, then during either player's Main Phase I can Special Summon this card from my hand.
Come forth, [Red Lotus King - Flame Crime]!"
Boom!
The ground of the circuit split open along a line of molten cracks. Wreathed in magma-like flames, the Red Lotus King leapt up from the fissure, its Level 3 Fiend body wrapped in inextinguishable fire.

Yusaku drifted through the turn in a flashy slide as he called out:
"When this card is Special Summoned, it inflicts damage to your opponent equal to the number of different Attributes among FIRE monsters you control × 400!"
As his words fell, the Red Lotus King cloaked in flames let out a roar, jaws yawning wide as a torrent of fire shot forth like a cannon shell, blasting straight through Kazuki's body.
Kazuki grunted, and the LP display on his Duel Disk changed.
[Kazuki, LP 8000 → 7600]
"Next, I activate the effect of [Bystial Magnamhut] in my hand."
Yusaku slid the card into his Duel Disk, then revealed a card in his GY.
"I target 1 LIGHT or DARK monster in either GY. If your opponent controls a monster, I can activate this during their turn as well. I banish that monster, and then Special Summon this card from my hand!
I choose the DARK monster I sent to the GY at the start, [Chaos Witch], to banish. Come forth, [Bystial Magnamhut]!"
As his words fell, the card in Yusaku's GY turned into a streak of light and flew into the banished zone. The next moment, a massive mechanical dragon shrouded in dark-purple energy tore open a dimensional rift and emerged with a roar, the metallic lines along its scales gleaming with icy light.

"First, [Chaos Witch]'s effect!"
Yusaku's voice suddenly rose.
"When this card is banished from the hand or GY, I can activate its effect to Special Summon 2 'White Beast Tokens' (Fairy / Tuner / LIGHT / Level 2 / ATK 500 / DEF 1000) to my field.
I Special Summon 2 [White Beast Tokens]!"
Two shafts of pure, sacred light struck the ground, resolving into two tokens gripping long spears as they lightly landed on the field.

"Next is [Bystial Magnamhut]'s effect. Since this card was Special Summoned, during this End Phase I'll be able to add 1 Dragon monster other than itself from my Deck or GY to my hand."
Yusaku raised his arm.
"Synchro Summon! Reveal yourself, [Scarred Dragon Archfiend]!"
In an instant, the monsters turned into streams of light that shot up toward the sky above the field.

"Synchro Summon! Level 10, [Bystial Dis Pater]!!!"
As his shout fell, a colossal dragon wrapped in countless gigantic black hands slowly crawled out from a dimensional rift, every one of those hands radiating a terrifying aura.

"This moment!" Yusaku shouted. "The effect of [Scarred Dragon Archfiend] in my GY can activate!
When this card is sent from the Monster Zone to the GY, I can send 1 'Red Dragon Archfiend' from my Extra Deck to the GY as Synchro Material, then Special Summon 1 [Red Dragon Archfiend] from my GY, and I can also destroy all Attack Position monsters your opponent controls!"
"Synchro Summon, a second [Red Rising Dragon]!!!"
As he spoke, a second [Red Rising Dragon] descended onto the field.

Watching the monsters appear on the field, Kazuki frowned slightly. He was getting more and more lost following Yusaku's lines of play.
As soon as the new Red Rising Dragon hit the field, Yusaku called out:
"Next I activate [Red Rising Dragon]'s effect again, to Special Summon the [Soul Resonator] that was just sent to the GY as Synchro Material back to the field…"
"At this moment I also chain the effect of [Red Lotus King - Flame Crime], which was likewise sent to the GY as Synchro Material!" Yusaku declared.
"When this card is sent to the GY as Synchro Material, I can send 1 Normal Trap from my Deck to the GY. I send the Trap [Break the Destiny] from my Deck to the GY!"
"???"
"What!?"
"[Break the Destiny]?"
Hearing him, Kazuki couldn't help but freeze.
[Break the Destiny]… just from the name alone it sounded like it had absolutely nothing to do with a Red Dragon Archfiend deck.
He wasn't the only one. The dojo students and players watching were just as stunned.
"Isn't [Break the Destiny] a HERO card? What's it doing in a [Red Dragon Archfiend] deck?!" a player with the handle "Big Thunder" blurted.
On the field, Yusaku had no idea that simply sending a card to the GY had caused such an uproar.
But even if he'd known, he wouldn't have bothered to explain. The [Red Dragon Archfiend] deck he'd built was fundamentally different from the norm.
They'd naturally understand that soon enough.
His actions did not slow.
"Next, [Red Rising Dragon]'s effect lets me Special Summon [Soul Resonator] from the GY!"

"I activate the effect of [Break the Destiny] that I just sent to the GY!"
"I can banish this card from my GY to add 1 Spell/Trap from my Deck to my hand that specifically lists 'Destiny HERO - Plasma' or a 'Destiny HERO' monster in its text, except [Break the Destiny].
I add the Continuous Spell [D - Force] from my Deck to my hand!"
The players around the arena froze.
"[D - Force]? Isn't that Aster's card?"
"Don't tell me he's planning to summon [Destiny HERO - Plasma] in a [Red Dragon Archfiend] deck?"
While they were still trying to figure it out, Yusaku's voice rang out again.
"Next, I tune [Red Rising Dragon] with the Level 3 [Soul Resonator] on the field!"
"The heartbeat of the king echoes in my ears. Dragon of crimson flame buried deep within the earth, awaken from your slumber and wipe away all that stands in my path!
Rise! [Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss]!!!"
As his chant fell, [Red Rising Dragon] and [Soul Resonator] became twin pillars of brilliant light that shot up into the center of the field.
"Roar—!!"
With a sky-shaking roar, a demonic dragon clad in red scales burst forth from the light of Synchro, beating its wings as hellfire blazed around its talons.

After bringing out this monster, Yusaku looked toward Kazuki.
"[Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss] is the monster your junior Fujiwara lost to me with. Same goes for the [Bystial Dis Pater] I Synchro Summoned earlier.
You really never thought about winning them back?"
Kazuki: "???"
Fujiwara: "???"
Hearing that, Kazuki snorted.
"My junior only lost because he let his guard down. Name your terms."
Yusaku smiled slightly.
"Straightforward. I like people who talk that cleanly. Then I'll add one more Deck on top. If you lose, you give me two Decks.
I'll trust that you people from the Upper City aren't going to try to brush me off with some random throwaway build, right?"
"[Speedroid], huh?" Yusaku smiled faintly. "Works for me."
He then drew out a card and revealed it.
"You've used [Vision Resonator]'s effect before, haven't you? I know perfectly well that card has a 'hard once per turn' restriction."
"You sure you didn't miscount?" Kazuki shot him a look.
"From the very start I never used [Vision Resonator]'s Special Summon effect. The [Vision Resonator] I brought out earlier was Special Summoned by [Crimson Resonator]'s effect."
Kazuki paused, thought back over the entire sequence, then gave a cold snort and fell silent.
Yusaku flipped a card in his GY face-up.
"I activate the effect of [Bystial Lubellion]. Once per turn, I can Special Summon it from the GY by tributing 1 Level 6 or higher DARK Dragon monster on my field.
I tribute [Red Dragon Archfiend] on the field and Special Summon it!"

"[Bystial Lubellion]'s effect activates. During my Main Phase, I can place 1 'Branded' Continuous Spell or Continuous Trap directly from my Deck face-up on my field."
As his words fell, a card popped up from the top of his Deck. Yusaku showed it, then slid it onto his Spell & Trap Zone.
"I choose the Continuous Spell [Branded Regained], and place it face-up on my field!"
The next second, a face-up Spell Card appeared behind him.
"Then I activate the Continuous Spell [D - Force]!" Yusaku revealed the card in his hand.
"As this card is activated, I can add 1 [Destiny HERO - Plasma] from my Deck or GY to my hand as part of its effect resolution."
Kazuki frowned.
"[Destiny HERO - Plasma]?"
