Dropping off Meiomi was easier than I thought it would be, but I had much to attribute to the fact that we somehow lived in the same building. She lived on the fourth floor which, while a bit far from my 18th floor, was nothing to really sweat about. We could have been living way further away from each other!
As for leaving her alone with that inheritance ring... I could only hope that nothing went wrong or at least everything that could go wrong only went wrong a little bit. I seriously doubted that her accepting that inheritance—whatever was in it—would be attention-grabbing for now. The initial binding was simple, so I'm sure the initial gift or skill she received would be just as plain.
Now, after a quick warm shower, I laid on my black leather couch which still smelled like lavender, looking at the bluish-gold system screen.

'N-No way?!' I shot up from the couch in disbelief, heart pounding against my ribs. For a second, I just stared at the glowing text, half not believing at all what I was reading. My luck today was just too good!

'Oh my god?!' I fist-pumped the air and jumped with so much excitement that I was glad Elena nor Meiomi saw me now. I brushed over it earlier, but the Five Elemental King's inheritance was a Special Grade or S-grade inheritance. This grade was a part of how things were identified and categorized in this world.
From the weakest to strongest, the grades were as follows: E-grade, D-grade, C-grade, B-grade, A-grade, S-grade, EX-grade, and Divine-grade. Divine-grade, according to the knowledge I've received, was something only seen in the Age of the Gods, but my knowledge didn't go in-depth in that era. It just briefly mentioned it, instead most of my knowledge was about the modern era, otherwise known as the Era of Unification—the unification part referring to the combination of both magic and science.
Putting this aside, I immediately pulled out the four-colored ring with four distinctly imprinted designs. The golden side, which was the top of the ring, held a sun. The bottom of the ring was silver with an imprint of a full moon. The right side of the ring was imprinted with nothing but black color, while the left side was nothing but white.

The ring lit up similarly to how the Five-Elemental King's inheritance lit up. It flew onto my right hand's middle finger, finding its place and adjusting its size. The colors slowly dimmed out, and I could now feel a new connection in my very existence. It didn't take a genius to know that this other connection was the very ring on my finger.

'Let's check it out!' My eyes lit up even more, and I didn't even bother sitting back down. I just stood in the middle of my apartment with my eyes stuck on the bluish-gold screen.

No pain, no gain as they say. I did want to explore this world after all, and even the ones beyond. To do that, I didn't think being scared of pain was the right way to go about it!

"C-Cough!?" I fell to my knees instantly, with a mouthful of blood following suit. The pain was instantaneous—the feeling of being stabbed with thousands of burning needles from the outside and inside my body felt like thousands of ants crawling, trying to overtake me!
I held strong though.
Despite the disastrous pain, I didn't let it distract me or cause me to blank! If I couldn't handle this, then it wasn't worth trying to explore this new vast world!
Losing track of time, I just stayed kneeling on the floor with blood leaking from my mouth. A puddle formed under me, but most of it had dried up, except for the little drops leaving now. The pain had long since numbed, but the soreness hadn't. This was why I didn't dare stand up—I wanted to ensure I didn't cause myself an injury.
Thankfully, I finally received a notification from the system completing my evolution.

"Ugh." I nearly puked, but still, I accepted. Information flooded my mind, which was better than something else hurting my already sore body. The absorption of knowledge was smoother and quicker, only taking seconds.
'That's it?'
I couldn't believe how easy using these two refinement arts was. All I had to do was absorb the four elements to temper my body or soul depending on what I was cultivating. The best part was that the arts stated that these four elements were all-encompassing, meaning that no matter where I was, I could cultivate these arts! Another part was that the higher my comprehension of the laws of these elements, the quicker I could cultivate it.
Now, one can probably guess the cherry on top...
I received the exact pill that would help with all this!
A golden pill manifested in my palm. Finally finding the courage to sit on the floor and lean back on the couch, I swallowed the pill. My mind... no, my very soul entered a strange state. I found myself in a four-colored space similar to the ring. The four colors, unlike the ring, danced in a mesmerizing dance, and as I watched, at some point, I lost myself in this hypnotic dance, forgetting about time itself!
