After Narlie was dressed, Jeremiah escorted her down from the outhouse into the main house knowing exactly what his daughter is capable of.
If he even for a minute took his eyes off her, she would surely make a break for it and that would definitely ruin a deal that would have likely elevated the Watson family out of the quicksand to the heavens.
When Narlie arrived with her father into the house she was met with two kind parents of the said Alpha. In fact, they actually treated her well despite her father telling them to their face to drop the act and deal with her strongly.
The woman, Constance, pulled Narlie into a warm bear hug. "Wow, she looks exactly like Nancy. That barbie doll face is kind of expected."
Jeremiah and the woman laughed. Narlie stared at her father with hatred burning in her eyes. She suddenly wished for the moon goddess overwhelming strength so that she would be able to return back the debt that he owed her.
Even if she doesn't get the power she wished for, she would definitely come back to settle the score.
Turns out, the so-called devil alpha was nowhere in sight, almost like he disregarded his own wedding, letting his parents do all the formalities for him. She suddenly wanted to spank the man.
Narlie turned towards Ms. Constance and Mr. Abel. "He didn't come?" She inquired and the woman smiled warmly.
"Of course he did. He didn't want to step into this house, claiming that it is unclean for him."
Narlie was stunned however she refrained from asking another one of her unintelligent questions. Narlie had really been suppressed to the point of not being able to freely speak, despite wanting to say something.
Constance and Abel noticed this too well but they did not say anything as long as they were still within the base of the Watson's mansion.
After the celebration, Narlie was more than excited to finally leave this house. Even Jeremiah was starting to see the happiness on his daughter's face. This wasn't the expression of someone who was being sold off to an Alpha devil, the one rumoured to take girls in as slaves.
The truth is that, Narlie had never actually believed the rumours about the alpha devil enslaving girls for marriage which is why she didn't mind delivering herself into his arms in the name of marriage.
Narlie turned to Mr. Abel and asked. "Is he outside?"
The man smiled and nodded. "He's in one of the carriages. If you step out of the compound, you should be able to find him easily."
Narlie smiled and turned towards Constance who actually assured her. At that moment, her eyes coincidentally met with a certain someone, sulking, lips pursing like she didn't like as Narlie was happy to be sold off. It was Delilah.
Mrs Gwen, Delilah's mother and Narlie's step-mother was just as unwilling as the daughter.
They had thought that they were selling off the bitch, only for the parents of the groom to actually treat her well. This action is not exactly what they expected of them but they dare not interfere.
Narlie meanwhile left the house. She grabbed the heavy silver dress by hand to prevent it from kissing the dirty floor as she walked towards the exit of the Watson mansion. And just as Constance and Abel had told her, there was indeed a carriage… two of them in fact.
Narlie took a deep breath and decided to approach the first carriage. She tried to knock first.
But before she could even start knocking; a cold and sharp voice stopped her.
"Don't you dare knock!"
Narlie's body chilled in an instant as his blood ran cold.
She stood there frozen and lost for a while before she heard his gentle voice speak: "Come inside."
That alone was enough to make her recover from her stupor.
The moment she obliged and entered, she was dumbfounded. The man, the same man who had been described as a devil, was looking drop-dead gorgeous with those raven black hair that cascaded down his back. His jawline and masculine outline was so perfect that Narlie couldn't help but drool.
And to add on top of it, he was so nice to her.
"I know exactly what your family did to you. I'm only here to give you a taste of freedom."
