Chapter 2 - 2: Planning Ahead: The Fool Named Quincy Yates

Planet Namek.

Whether it was the original Vegeta or the man he had become he had to go.

In the original story, Vegeta eventually cut all ties with Frieza just to claim the Dragon Balls for himself.

Now that John Max had taken the wheel, the new Vegeta felt the exact same pull. He would charge straight in, no hesitation.

To grow stronger he had to reach Namek.

To seize every opportunity he had to reach Namek.

To completely rewrite his fate he had to reach Namek.

As the old saying went: "The bigger the storm, the fatter the fish."

Since he'd already become Vegeta, cowering wasn't an option. He couldn't just hide on some backwater rock, grind for years until his base power level hit a hundred million, unlock Super Saiyan 1, 2, or 3, then strut out and steamroll the universe.

Sure, that path was safer especially since Kakarot was fated to handle Frieza anyway.

But it would mean throwing away every single crucible that forged the original Vegeta into a legend.

Besides… he had inherited all of Vegeta's memories, instincts, and that burning pride.

Vegeta's dignity left no room for retreat.

He thrived on challenge.

And with the original prince's obsession with Kakarot now carved into his very soul, only one road lay ahead.

Put simply: he held the script of past and future in his hands.

If he still ended up as the eternal second-place prince even with that cheat sheet… then he deserved to be called trash.

Let Kakarot inherit the "eternal number two" crown instead.

Frieza? He would be the one to kill him.

Striding down the wide metallic corridor, Vegeta locked in his resolve and began mapping out his moves.

Right now, the top priority was awakening the dormant power sleeping inside this Saiyan body.

All he had to do was reach Namek, meet the Grand Elder, and get his latent potential unlocked.

At the bare minimum, that would catapult him past a million in power level.

The original timeline was crystal clear on the numbers:

After recovering from the loss to Kakarot on Earth, Vegeta's power level returned to 24,000.On Namek, he enjoyed several explosive jumps.First: beaten half-dead by Zarbon → healed → 30,000+.Second: crushed by Recoome → Senzu Bean from Krillin → 250,000, enough to trade blows with First-Form Frieza.Third: deliberately wounded by Krillin, nearly killed, then healed by Dende → 2.5 million, strong enough to force Frieza into his final form.

So the moment he landed on Namek, priority number one: locate the Grand Elder.

But how exactly was he supposed to convince the old man to help him?

Threats were out of the question Nail alone sat at 42,000, and the Namekians weren't idiots.

To them, he was still the same blood-soaked Saiyan butcher who had slaughtered countless innocents across the galaxy.

Krillin and Gohan only got an audience because they saved little Dende first.

That single act of kindness opened every door.

Vegeta's thoughts drifted for a moment… then shifted entirely to the holy grail: transformation.

In Dragon Ball Super, Cabba had explained that to go Super Saiyan you concentrate Saiyan power in the small of your back and let it explode outward all at once.

But Vegeta knew the real trigger wasn't some mystical back-tingle it was S-cells. You needed enough of them, plus the right emotional spark.

Still, he was going to try.

If he could pull off Super Saiyan early…

Then Frieza wouldn't be a mortal threat anymore.

He'd be prey.
