Chapter 20 - 19: Frieza is Just a Dog

Dodoria spat blood and venom, voice rattling like gravel.

"Hand over that scouter, monkey. Do it now and I might let you die quick."

Vegeta's eyebrow arched, genuine amusement flickering across his face.

"Look at you, playing smart for once. All those years of licking Frieza's boots finally taught you when to beg."

He unclipped the scouter with deliberate slowness, turning it over in his fingers like a worthless toy.

Dodoria's pink face darkened to purple.

"Quit stalling! Give it here or I'll rip it off your corpse!"

Vegeta smiled, cold and princely.

"Fetch."

He flicked the scouter to the ground between them.

It landed with a pathetic clink.

Dodoria's pride screamed, but fear won. He lumbered forward, bending low to snatch it.

The instant his fingers brushed the device, the world vanished.

Vegeta was simply there, boot planted squarely on the back of Dodoria's skull, grinding his face into the dirt.

A perfect, humiliating bow.

"You really are a good dog," Vegeta murmured, voice silk over steel. "Head down, ass up. Exactly how Frieza likes you."

Dodoria roared.

Ki detonated beneath the boot twenty-two thousand raw, ugly power trying to buck its master.

The ground cracked in a fifty-meter radius.

Vegeta didn't budge.

One percent.

That was all he needed.

Dodoria's eyes bulged, veins popping, spit flecking the dirt.

"H-how…?! You were only twenty-four thousand on Earth!"

Vegeta increased the pressure until Dodoria's cheek scraped stone.

"Wrong. That was the old me. The one you and your master used to laugh at."

He leaned down, voice dropping to a whisper only Dodoria could hear.

"Right now, untransformed Frieza couldn't last ten seconds against me. And you? You're not even warm-up."

Dodoria thrashed, limbs flailing, ki flaring uselessly.

Vegeta grew bored.

One casual kick.

Dodoria shot backward like a cannon shell, punched through three cliffs, and vanished into a mountain with a detonation that turned half the island to glass.

Dust and smoke billowed.

Vegeta strolled forward through the haze, hands behind his back, boots not even touching the ground.

He stopped above the crater.

Dodoria lay buried under a thousand tons of rock, twitching, pretending to be dead.

Vegeta's palm lit up.

A sphere of violet-white energy formed, dense enough to warp gravity around it.

Small moon? Planet buster? Didn't matter.

It was overkill, and that was the point.

"Playing possum?" Vegeta called down, almost kindly. "Cute. But I can hear your heart trying to explode."

He raised the sphere higher.

"Any last words, dog?"

Dodoria's scream was muffled by rubble, high, animal, and utterly hopeless.

Vegeta's smile widened, sharp as a blade.

"Good boy."

The sphere began its descent.
