Chapter 234 - Breaking the Ground! Pikachu’s God-Tier Thunder

The battle between Flygon and Pikachu began with a roar of wind. Because Flygon possessed the Levitate ability, it held the ultimate "air superiority" over the ground-bound mouse.

Not only were Pikachu's electric attacks theoretically useless against Flygon's Ground typing, but the dragon could strike from the safety of the clouds.

Harrison felt a glimmer of hope. In his hand, he still had a Manectric and an Alakazam back in the PC, but he had chosen Flygon specifically to wall Pikachu. If he could win just one round, he could walk away with his head held high.

"Flygon, use Sandstorm!"

"WOOOO!"

Flygon flapped its wings in a rhythmic pattern, whipping up the dry earth of the battlefield into a choking vortex of sand.

The Sandstorm began to howl, obscuring Pikachu's vision and slowly chipping away at his health. In this environment, Flygon could move like a ghost, striking from the dust and vanishing before Pikachu could react.

"A Sandstorm, huh? That's tricky," Ash muttered, pulling his hat down. "But we have our own way of clearing the air! Pikachu, use Thunder!!"

"PIKA-CHUUUUUUU!!!"

Pikachu didn't aim at Flygon. He aimed at the sky.

Black clouds coalesced instantly over the lab, swirling with violent, golden energy. Then, a pillar of lightning as thick as an ancient oak tree slammed down onto the center of the field.

CRACK-THOOM!

The sheer electrical pressure was so immense that it literally tore the Sandstorm apart. The static charge in the air was so high that the sand particles were repelled or incinerated. The storm didn't just end—it was deleted.

Chloe shielded her ears, wincing at the thunder. Professor Birch was slack-jawed. This wasn't a "Pikachu." This was a localized weather deity.

"He cracked the Sandstorm…" Harrison whispered, his eyes bulging. "With an Electric move? Against a Ground type?"

Even though the lightning didn't damage Flygon directly due to its typing, the concussive force of the thunder and the resulting air pressure had sent the dragon tumbling through the sky.

"My turn!" Harrison shouted, trying to regain his composure. "Flygon, use Sand Tomb!"

Flygon spiraled downward, channeling ground energy into the earth beneath Pikachu. The soil began to liquefy, turning into a swirling vortex of quicksand that threatened to swallow the small mouse whole.

"Jump, Pikachu!"

Pikachu leaped high into the air, but Harrison was waiting. "Use Mud Shot!"

Flygon launched two orbs of thick, brown mud at the airborne Pikachu. In mid-air, with no ground to push off from, Pikachu was a sitting duck. Or so Harrison thought.

"Don't back down! Use Volt Tackle to charge through it!"

"PIPIPIPIPIPI!!"

Pikachu's feet seemed to kick the very air itself, his body suddenly enveloped in a blinding golden shroud of electricity.

This was his signature move, the high-voltage charge! He didn't dodge the mud; he smashed through it. The density of the electrical aura was so great that the mud was vaporized before it could touch his fur.

Pikachu became a golden bullet, slamming directly into Flygon's chest.

BANG!

Even though the electricity didn't "shock" the Ground-type Flygon, the physical force of a Champion-level Pikachu moving at those speeds was equivalent to being hit by a speeding truck. Flygon was sent spiraling toward the ground.

"Finish it! Use Iron Tail while you're falling!"

"CHUUUU-PI!"

Pikachu's tail turned into a gleaming, silver blade of hardened steel. Using the momentum of his descent, he performed a front flip in mid-air and slammed his tail down onto Flygon's back.

CRASH!!

The battlefield shook one last time. When the dust cleared, Flygon was unconscious in the dirt. Pikachu landed lightly on all fours, his sparks slowly fading as he gave a confident "Pika!"

The rematch was over. Ash had won a flawless victory.

[Lance: Incredible. He used the concussive force of Electric moves to alter the environment and then finished with physical moves. That's top-tier tactical adaptability.]

[Cynthia: Harrison gave it his all, but Ash is simply playing a different game now.]

[Professor Birch: Well, the battle is over, and my backyard is a series of craters. Ash, I think you owe me a lot of landscaping work!]

In the Footage—

The fate of the battle was sealed in a display of raw, overwhelming power. Harrison's Flygon, a majestic Desert Dragonfly known for its elusive speed and immunity to electricity, had been physically dismantled.

First, it was intercepted mid-flight by Pikachu's high-speed Volt Tackle, and before it could even regain its bearings, it was struck by a devastating, silver-clad Iron Tail.
