Chapter 9 - The Genshin Forum Has Gone Live

Reality.

"WDNMD—Grandpa actually uses the Skyward Blade now?!"

As the cutscene played on her screen, BunnyButNotBunny nearly cursed herself off the chair.

She stared dumbfounded as Lumine handed her dull blade to Ye Luo… then casually pulled out a sparkling Skyward Blade.

Mihoyo, are you possessed?!

You're actually listening to players now?

You seriously replaced Lumine's weapon from a dull blade to Skyward Blade??

Then when is Grandpa's golden sword—sealed away by the Heavenly Principles—coming back, hmm?

The dull blade didn't retire…

It was simply entrusted to someone else.

[I love one thing Genshin players always say: "Huh?"]

["You're giving me this, then what are you using??"]

["I have the SKYWARD BLADE, sweetie."]

"Ahhh—Lumine-baby is really flexing now."

Seeing Lumine's smug little expression, Bunny couldn't help bursting into laughter.

The Rare Species: Smug Lumine — finally on screen.

Though it was a pity Ye Luo had lost his black-hair-black-eyes moe-point.

His eyes had changed—same color as Hu Tao's, though shaped differently.

Bigger, brighter.

But still…

Insanely handsome!!!

Bunny propped her chin in her hands, quietly staring at Ye Luo like a lovestruck fool.

[You use a dull blade, I use a Skyward Blade.]

[Grandpa, where's your Corrosion Sword? Your Dawnlight Sword?]

[Steady. Civil-engineering majors stay steady.]

[So he's a Fontaine character? Will he appear in the main story?]

She glanced at the chat and smiled in satisfaction.

Whatever the case, the change was a good one.

More content. More reactions. More comedic fuel.

Perfect for streaming.

Teyvat.

[Ding. Detected: Increase in host popularity.

Genshin Forum unlocked.]

Ye Luo jolted upright from where he'd been dozing off, almost shouting aloud.

He rubbed his eyes, staring blankly at the stage.

Sure enough—leaders in every world could never stop talking.

Three-hour event, two and a half hours of speeches. Classic.

Paimon had long fallen asleep in Lumine's arms.

Even the Traveler herself was nodding off, head bobbing, teetering on the edge of unconsciousness.

Yikes. Terrifying.

Even someone with Lumine's constitution could get put to sleep.

Ye Luo sighed and shifted sideways —

Fine. He could lend the Traveler a shoulder for a bit.

But more importantly:

What the heck was the "Genshin Forum"?

"System."

A translucent screen materialized instantly.

At the bottom tab — a new icon: Genshin Forum.

He mentally clicked it.

[Genshin Forum]

[User: Ye Luo My Wife]

Post: I LOVE YOU, YE LUO!!!

Opening attack.

Ye Luo stared at the text, brain going blank for one second.

Then only one thought remained:

"Oh no, I'm about to go on a wild run in Teyvat at night."

He could already imagine the future real-world search results:

"Dude, I'm a male character, how can you call me 'wife'?"

He twitched internally.

Sure, he knew players in his previous life often lost their sanity over male characters…

But he didn't expect himself to be the target now.

No wonder his popularity spiked.

People were already fangirling over him.

This was only an event quest!

How was the effect so immediate?!

He scrolled further.

There were links to various streamers reacting live.

Of course there were.

System tech: maxed out.

He clicked Bunny's stream.

Good lord—players were so abstract.

Entertaining though.

But when he saw everyone guessing his rarity as a 4-star, he nearly vomited blood.

Brothers, I am a 5-star. I'm sorry.

And that one saying he'd "pull for C6 Ye Luo no matter what"—

Yeah. You. Don't run. He remembered the ID.

"TMD… so the Traveler's dull blade was freed from its prison by ME, huh."

Watching the clip, Ye Luo felt complicated.

Part of him wanted to shove the sword back into Lumine's hands.

He sighed.

Never mind.

This nonsense was gaining him popularity, wasn't it?

If being a clown meant saving Furina in the end —

CLOWN HE SHALL BE.

He clenched his fists.

As long as the memes grow, as long as players enjoy him…

He will be the first to break Mihoyo's "tragedy style" dominance!

Want to stab his poor Fufu?

Dream on!

He gently glanced sideways at Lumine, sleeping against his shoulder.

This soft-cheeked, adorable Lumine obviously wasn't the terrifying "Fourth Calamity consciousness" some players joked about.

No way she'd hurt his popularity.

Besides — in Genshin, male characters interacting with female characters did get CP-tagged by certain corners of the fandom…

But this was Lumine.

She'd been CP-ed with nearly every male character in fanworks.

If anything, he wouldn't get backlash.

She would just drag him into another ship.

He relaxed. Saving Furina came first; clowning came second.

He didn't notice that players who chose Aether were reacting VERY differently:

[I see. He's a new ship for Aether.]

[AAAAA Aether x Ye Luo is real, help!!]

[Aether sleeping against someone's shoulder… he's so cute!!]

[I heard the writers were threatened by the Three Kingdoms TCG devs to produce this scene. Incredible work.]

[Let's go leave positive reviews!!]

[Let him become overwhelmingly well-reviewed!!]

[No — General, you must not! You are the pillar of Han…]
