As Trouble stood there, frozen in shock, Ekaterina didn't go for a peck. It cut through his confusion. He felt a strange sense of calm wash over him, despite not knowing why. Suddenly, a thought popped into his mind, but before he could ask, " sorry I didn't intend to make you feel insecure, I had a sense of familiarity when I saw you. I just wanted to know if you were him " her voice trembling with emotion.
"However, I felt relieved when I saw you after I regaining consciousness," she said, her eyes shining with tears. "It made me happy that you stayed with me all that time, even when I was unconscious. It reminded me of him."
Trouble's heart ached as he listened to her words. He saw the pain in her eyes, the longing, and the sadness. He felt a pang of guilt, knowing he couldn't remember her, couldn't remember what had happened between them.
Ekaterina's voice cracked as she spoke, her words barely above a whisper. "Unfortunately, when I wanted to ask you something, the doctor had called you out. After that, I never saw you again till this day."
The silence between them was oppressive, heavy with unspoken words and unshed tears. Trouble watched as Ekaterina's face crumbled, her eyes welling up with tears. He felt a lump form in his throat as he saw the pain he had caused her.
Without thinking, Trouble reached out, his hand brushing against Ekaterina's cheek. The touch sent shivers down his spine, and he felt a spark of recognition. Ekaterina's eyes locked onto his, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.
"Is your name Ekaterina?" Trouble asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Ekaterina's face lit up, and she nodded, her tears streaming down her face. "You're him," she whispered, her voice trembling. "It's really you, Trouble."
Time seemed to stand still as Ekaterina launched herself at Trouble, her arms wrapping around him in a tight hug. Trouble felt his heart swell with emotion as he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.
They stood there, holding each other, tears streaming down their faces. The world around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in their own little bubble.
Minutes passed, and Trouble finally suggested, his voice husky with emotion, "Let's find a beautiful spot to sit and catch up, what do you say?"
At the moment he had forgotten everything even about the system's quest, only Ekaterina was in his mind.
Ekaterina nodded, her face buried in his chest. "Yes," she whispered, her voice muffled. "Anywhere, as long as we're together."
As they pulled away, Trouble saw the happiness in Ekaterina's eyes, and he knew he would do anything to keep it there. He took her hand, and together, they walked away from the chaos, into a new future, one filled with hope and promise.
The city around them came alive, the sounds and colors vibrant and beautiful. Trouble felt a sense of peace wash over him, knowing that he had found something special, something worth fighting for.
As they walked, Ekaterina leaned into him, her head on his shoulder. "I'm never letting you go again," she whispered, her voice filled with determination.
Trouble smiled, his heart full of joy. "I don't want you to," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper.
And as they disappeared into the crowd, the system watched, a small smirk on its screen. The game had just begun, and Trouble was in for the ride of his life.
