Kick off began and Yoichi passed it to me. I charged forward and Kanade charged straight to me. I passed to Yoichi and watched him blitz through the opposing team. Yoichi readied himself for a cross to me but Kanade quickly blocked his path. Kanade stared at Yoichi in his eyes and left the goal open for Yoichi to score. "Shoot it." Yoichi hesitated before Kanade swiftly stole it from him.
Dribble through our whole team only one person emerged from the unworthy crowds. The Reaper who was ready to harvest the souls of everyone on the team. Kanade took a quick breath and dashed past me, but I turned to the counter. He flicked the ball up but our greedy king came in with his golden spear. Turning the whole field goal with a single touch, he leaped into the air and intercepted the ball. "Keep the ball close." He said with a gaze that looked past everything in his field of vision. He passed to Yoichi and ran through the entire team. Kanade shoved me and rushed toward Jaylon.
Yoichi dashed past the entire defense with ease but one thing kept him from making the ideal play. MENTALLY! "YOICHI SHOW THE WORLD YOU'RE LIGHT! LEAVE BEHIND WHOEVER CAN'T ADAPT TO YOUR RADIATION!" A sudden burst of adrenaline ran through his mind as he let out a wide smile. Yoichi looked towards me and readied the world for a play that they could only witness with his light.
A light speed pass, one that only he could do! The fastest pass in the world! He kicked the ball full force and everybody ran toward me. I readied myself for a quick volley but…the ball was nowhere to be found. I looked towards Yoichi and in a flash the ball flew past me and went through many defenders. There was nobody there…but the king who sat down readying his kingdom for war. He smiled and dashed past Kanade. It was over, Jaylon was gonna end this long battle. It was so intense he didn't even follow it up with his signature condescending comment.
Suddenly everybody heard a zip and the youngest person on the field was in the air. Kanade had jumped up and kicked the ball full force away from the goal. He could see it? No, he anticipated. He knew every single thing that was gonna happen and he acted appropriately. It was humanly impossible to just "react" to that pass. The only proof of its existence was the sound of it ripping through the air. Kanade fell onto the ground and immediately got up to start running full speed to the other side of the pitch. It wasn't over, it was far from it
