-----------------------------------------------

In Alastor's training and studies he gained a much deeper understanding of the nature of his Psionics.

Apparently his "cheat" was more like the "potential" of being able to wield Psionics, Psychic power from the mind not of the Warp.

Alastor discovered that unlike him other humans even those that possessed the gene to wield Psychic power(Mages/Psykers) were not able to wield it.

It was literally not in their genetic "framework" at all and it wasn't just humans but other races as well.

Alastor came to the conclusion this was a change that mysterious "God" in his memories had done to allow his body to wield Psionics.

Aside from that, each Psionic discipline needed different type of training and knowledge to improve upon it and to drive upon it's limits.

He understood even with his powerful talent as a Primarch, the sheer research, knowledge, experimentation and practice needed would make mastering every Psionic discipline virtually impossible.

Alastor found that discovery displeasing but this reminded him that even Gods would find such endeavours difficult especially since Psionic was an entirely new and unknown field with zero development.

He already made a note to see if Psionics could be cultivated in other humans in some way, having more people work on it together would not only offer the field more research momentum but also give fresh new perspectives it's development.

Aside from that Alastor made a theory that a person's potential Psionic path(s) and power can not be only measured by perceived Psychic but also their personalities, preferences and the depth of their emotions.

Currently his findings were mostly based on his own conjunctions on himself and he would need further studies to confirm it if he was successful in finding or making more Psionics.

But back to why Alastor based this on himself was because of how it affected on his own training.

Alastor found he was most comfortable in using Telekinesis, Technopathy, Psionic Healing and Empathy with a few more useful abilities from other discipline he found useful.

Yet when it came to other Psionic abilities he found that he was not only uncomfortable with using them in most circumstances but had more difficulty in exercising them.

He came to this discovery when he found his difficulties other Psionic arts like Psychic torture, Parasitism and Telepathy to name a few due to his own personality and misgivings.

Telepathy was a big surprise for Alastor especially when he started diving into it fully, Minds in general he found were both Chaotic and deeply structured things if not used right then either the Telepath himself would go mad or accidentally make someone else a vegetable.

Despite that he was still able to use Telepathy somewhat effectively when it came to telepathically communicating and using it as a way to detecting the presences of other minds through extrasensory means.

Another art that Alastor found himself hopeless on was Precognition.

He came to the conclusion since he himself never believed in something as fickle as prophecy and fate he had trouble grasping it.

He was always of the belief that the only reason such prophecies come to be is because either people accept them as gospel or because they try to resist them so badly despite believing them they end up fulfilling them themselves.

Alastor on the other hand didn't even deign to give them another glance, he simply refused to acknowledge or even care about such predictions.

If you simply stopped believing them then they naturally lose their so called "power".

--------------------------------------------------

In the first year of his stay in Dalaran Alastor mainly focused on his foundational magic studies when he wasn't working on his Psionics or tech.

Alastor found that most people who showed the magical/Psychic gift were to be immediately taken to their kingdom's College of magic where they would be given training to control their powers.

If they then desired more knowledge and wished to further their mastery they could journey to Dalaran and continue it here even better if the prospective mage showed large aptitude, talent or drive then they could even be eligible to joining the Kirin Tor.

But Alastor was a bit dissatisfied on how Mages generally trained themselves to control the flow of Aether in their bodies and surroundings.

The most ancient and safe way for Dalaran mages that was popular in almost all Colleges of magic was that apprentice mages were first put through meditation exercises.

Which could range from normal meditation to other more exotic meditations like sculpting or painting to empty and focus their minds and only after a certain amount were they allowed to practice spells and draw in the power of the Aether/Warp for them.

While simultaneously resisting the onslaught of foreign power and any "whispers" they may hear as a way to harden their wills.

Powerful mages could erect formations or use magic tools to lessen or negate these effects but for many apprentices and low-mid class mages the previous method was the best one they had.

Alastor found it archaic and ineffective but understood that it wasn't that the mages wanted to use this method but despite the Millennia's passing this was the best they had.

So he immediately got to work on a method which EVERY mage could use and he had a very good reference to draw on from his foreknowledge from another work of fiction.

It's name was Occlumency a magical art that was mainly used to protect one's mind from external manipulation and penetration.

The one that Alastor developed on the other hand was different.

Alastor's Occlumency would have the mage clear their minds and begin constructing a mental palace or domain unique to each individual to act as a sturdy defence against external mental influence.

It also had the added benefit of regulating out of control emotions as well as focusing the mind and sharpening perception when the Occlumency shields were brought up by a mage when the situation calls for it.

Alastor had spent quite a while refining the process, simplifying it and over all making it user friendly for even apprentices to start upon it.

Then he gave the book of his first fully made magical art to Antonidas so he could review it himself and see if he had missed some part or if something needed approving.

Unfortunately for the poor honourable fool due to his strong sense of responsibility had forgot one crucial detail he swore to do.

...He forgot to tell his master to keep his name anonymous.

All in all before the month's end, the new magic book Occlumency authored by Alastor Wrynn was given a stamp of approval and praise not only by Antonidas but also MULTIPLE Archmages.

As copies of it were immediately put to use in Dalaran's academies and sent to every major Kingdom's College of Magic except Quel'thalas.

They were shocked and amazed by the theory and application of it and many of them had tested it out themselves first.

Suffice to say they found Occlumency to be almost a tailor made magic art for almost all mages especially beginners which would pave the way for their future journey on their arcane path.

Understandably that single book had revolutionized magical study especially for apprentice and journeyman mages at least significantly if not more cutting down on the dangers they would face as well making Aether control much easier.

And the name Alastor Wrynn was once again being hailed as a miracle worker and his legend growing even further.

While Alastor himself was slamming his head on his desk repeatedly.

"So is this what you would call Doomed for greatness?"

"Rhonin don't you bloody dare-!"

"Dare what Miracle prince?" Rhonin asked with mock innocence and a very punchable smirk.

"LIGHT BLOODY DAMN IT!"

And like that 2 years pass since Alastor's arrival at Dalaran.

Author Note: Okay, before any of you start yelling about me supposedly "nerfing" Alastor please note the simple fact.

Alastor is a PRIMARCH! One with a Cheat on top of having the standard Primarch package!

Psionics is a umbrella term for Psychic abilities, If I had given Alastor full closure to have mastery in every discipline he got his hands on then this wouldn't be a story but wish fulfilment trash.

Not to mention Alastor is being portrayed as a living being if I gave him unrestrained benefits he would be no different from a mary sue.

Warcraft and Warhammer are a clusterfuck of problems and the story is about Alastor is living in those words to address those same problems.

But not to worry I am not nerfing Alastor since even with his Primarch abilities and the full scope of his cheat. (Spoilers)

Al will be powerful and walk his own path.

Now as always please remember to Vote, Comment, add to Library and give the story a 5 star review to help it get the coverage it needs.
