Chapter 59 – Finally the Fight Is Over

The shattered skies above the Pride Ring hung heavy with the lingering echoes of battle, the air still crackling with residual energy from the clash between light and darkness. Sera watched Razan leaving, his massive form shrinking as he flew toward the city below, and thought, not knowing what to do:

Why didn't you just kill me right away?

Sera then placed her hand on the cheek he kissed, the spot still tingling with an unfamiliar warmth that made her wings falter for a moment.

She took a deep breath, steadying herself amid the swirling emotions she couldn't quite name, and flew toward where the angels were gathered.

Arriving there, she saw Lute helping Adam, who was all battered his body bruised, one arm missing, blood staining his once-pristine robes.

Lute looked at Sera and asked:

— Ma'am, how was the battle? As a sinner, did you manage to eliminate him?

Sera, hearing this, placed her hand on her face and felt a little shaken, the memory of the kiss flashing unbidden in her mind.

She then regained her composure so Lute wouldn't see anything strange and said:

— No. I couldn't kill him. It ended in a draw. He was much stronger than I thought. Let's gather the angels and help Adam get up. Let's leave this place soon. After a mess like this, Lucifer must have already arrived.

Lute held the unconscious Adam and said:

— Yes, ma'am.

She then called the rest of the angels, her voice sharp and commanding despite the exhaustion evident in her posture.

Sera looked at them, scanning the group with a growing sense of unease.

Lute looked at Sera and said:

— Ma'am, they're all here.

Sera looked confused and said:

— Why are there still so many angels after this fight?

Lute said angrily:

— Ma'am, he must have intended to focus and defeat you first, then return to finish us off.

Sera, hearing this, became totally confused.

After all, he had defeated her—so that wasn't the reason he hadn't killed them when she wasn't there.

Sera, looking at this, thought:

Could it be that he simply didn't want to kill anyone?

She shook her head and said softly:

— There's no way he can be good...

But then:

— Why?

Lute, seeing Sera acting strange, asked confused:

— Ma'am, what's wrong? Is there a problem?

Sera then became serious again and said:

— No, it's nothing. We must return to paradise.

She then opened the portal to paradise, a swirling gateway of golden light that pierced the dark infernal sky.

Lute then flew carrying Adam along with the other angels, their wings beating in unison as they prepared to depart.

Sera looked one last time in the direction Razan had gone, with a complicated expression—confusion, doubt, and something deeper she refused to acknowledge and entered the portal.

Back to Razan, he finally arrived in the city, descending gracefully despite the lingering aches from the battle.

Razan then looked down and saw Charlie, Loona, Vaggie, and even Lucifer waiting below, their faces a mix of relief and worry.

Razan thought:

Well, it seems the other guests left after the fight ended.

Razan then exited his new form, the hybrid energy fading as he returned to his half-dragon appearance.

But he looked at his hair that had become half golden and permanent and shook his head discouraged, running a hand through the changed strands with a sigh.

Razan then looked at Loona and smiled and said:

— Well, it seems I won the fight.

Before anyone could say anything, Loona ran and jumped into his arms, her tail wagging furiously as she wrapped around him.

She then pulled his face and started kissing him passionately.

Razan was a little surprised by her reaction, but he also hugged and kissed back, holding her close as the world around them faded for a moment.

After a while, they separated.

Loona looked at Razan and said: It's good to see you don't have any piece missing.

Razan smiled and, while caressing her ears, said smiling:

— It wouldn't hurt to say "welcome back, dear"?

Loona looked at him with a face full of strangeness and said:

— Not even dead would I say that.

Razan smiled hearing that.

Then he was knocked down by Charlie, who tackled him with her usual enthusiastic energy.

Razan looked at Charlie on top of him and said:

— Can you stop jumping on an injured person who just went through a deadly battle?

Charlie smiled and said:

— If you're still this annoying, then it means you're okay.

Razan said:

— And how can I pretend with you jumping on me at cannon speed?

Charlie smiled and said:

— Hey, idiot!

Razan looked at her and said:

— What is it?

Charlie smiled and said:

— Welcome back.

Razan smiled and said:

— Yes, it's good to be home.

Loona, seeing this, gave a tired smile and said:

— Razan, if you don't want to be killed by Vaggie, let go of Charlie already.

Razan then looked to the side and saw Vaggie staring at him with a deadly look, arms crossed and foot tapping impatiently.

Razan looked at her and smiled and said:

— Vaggie, no need to worry. There's nothing for me to grab on her.

Before finishing, Charlie hit an elbow on his head and said:

— Shut your mouth, you perverted dragon!

They then started playing on the ground, Charlie laughing as she wrestled with him playfully, Razan pretending to struggle while grinning.

Lucifer, seeing that, smiled happily and took out the camera and said:

— My little Devil playing with friends. This is a great photo for my collection.

Loona, seeing this mess, just sighed and said:

— Well, at least it's over.

She then looked at this mess and thought about how much work it would be to clean up the mess those idiots made in the mansion with the party.
