Mu Ning slowly rolled up her sleeves.
A faint smile curved on her lips, but there was no warmth in it.

"Mu Ning, what… what are you trying to do?" Su Nian forced out, trying to sound stern, but his voice cracked halfway.
Mu Ning tilted her head and looked at her like she was something disgusting stuck under her shoe.
"What am I trying to do?" she repeated softly. "I am only returning what you all gave my babies."
Her eyes moved to Ren.
The little boy immediately hid behind his mother and started crying louder.
"I-I didn't do anything! It was just a joke!"
"A joke?" Mu Ning laughed, low and dark. "So, releasing beetles on them was a joke? Pouring nano-ink on their faces was a joke? Forcing them to kneel while they had a fever was also a joke?"
Each question made the adults' faces uglier.
No one dared answer.
