Chapter 1 - Prologue: Heir to The God of War

Under one nation, many territorial lords held power in their respective territory. From the South was the territory Khan, led by a militaristic commander, Lao Fu.

To the East was the ever so united people in the city of Laten, led by Charles Norton, the current head of the Norton family.

And to the West was the small and territory named Kanto, led by Yosuke Ishimaru of the famous Ishimaru clan.

The three large territories, including the lords of other smaller cities all were under one ruler, the King. The king's own city was much larger than all of the territories combined and held power to every lord, having them all answer to him.

However, even the lord was prone to natural death. In one moment, the king had died of an illness, leaving his only son, Borin, to take his place at just 9 years of age.

This led to the many politically powerful advisors, scholars and greedy politicians to gain the young king's influence in order to get more power. However, another child was also present.

In one of the smaller territory's, son of the great warrior known as Pao Xian, Shu Xian, had been born but not as Pao Xian's son. First, he was born into the family of beggars.

Force to flee, steal and scam in order to eat, his hands filled with calluses and dirt, befitting the hands of a thief. However, even at a young age, he saw these actions as sins, and had wished to make payment of these sins in due time.

As such, for small atonement, he made sure to protect and fight for the weak children who are beggars like him, earning the title of "Protector of the Unfortunate Kids", even when he was just 6 years old.

The rumours began to spread of him, being a child prodigy of combat. As such, Pao Xian, who was revered to be a god of war, travelled to Kataka, a small village of the west, where the kid was located.

"Hmmm...It is of truth. These lands are indeed riddled with poverty. However, brother will surely come to fix these problems." Pao Xian said with dignity.

Pao Xian knew of the poverty that covered the lands of Kataka, and as such, had brought with him troops that carried carriages of food, drinkable water, and money enough to feed a family.

These supplies had made him a target to every thief within Kataka, as such, Pao Xian remained wary and on-guard, holding onto his Crescent Moon Blade Polearm, and tightening his hold on his horse.

The more he got closer to the center of town, the more thieves began to show and get ready to pounce the cart that held the supplies.

However, the child that Pao Xian came looking for, came out of his hiding place first, knife in hand, all bruised up and had pounced on the cart full of supplies, not eith confidence, but desperation, to be fed.

The boy shouted a war cry, and had managed to injure 2 out of the 10 troops Pao Xian took with him, and all of the stabs were vital spots on the legs, rendering them unable to even stand. Pao Xian was quite impressed at the display and opted to get off his horse.

"He has dropped to his feet! Destroy the nobleman!" An adult thief said.

Pao Xian knew of this outcome, ans readied his Crescent Moon Blade Polearm. In just one swing, 40 out of the 60 men that charged at him were flung into the road or t he stone houses to the sides, showing his strength as the God of War.

"To think a child would have more bravery than 60 mem combined. What has this world become?"

The God of War valued bravery, courage and prowess. And the boy who had came forward all had displayed those 3 characteristics of a warriors. The thieves, now filled with fear, allowed Pao Xian to walk towards the boy, who was threatening to slit the throat of the guard he had injured.

"Do not come any closer, nobleman! One more step and the guard will get his slit opened by my dagger!" He shouted. "Hmm...I guess thieves are still thieves...but you are indeed brave." Pao Xian complimented the boy.

The boy looked up the man who had complimented him. The man had quite the beatiful, brown beard that extended towards his chest. Straight, and neatly groomed, that even hair stylist would be in awe. The man exude the aura of a fierce but honorable warrior, but showed little to no scars, indicating his battles were won without being hit once.

"Do not come any closer if you value this guard's life!" He threatened. "...I do not believe your bluff, boy. You may be a thief but I see it in your eyes...you are not ready to kill a person." "I am! If you do not provide me with the supplies you have brought to Kataka, I will slit his throat if I must!"

Pao Xian merely let out a huff and began to walk slowly. The bot trembled and stepped back, nearing the blade to the guard's throat, but not slitting it, despite his threats to such as that.

With enough time, Pao Xian crouched down to the boys level, took the dagger gently away from the kid's grasps and patted his head. "To charge right in to the enemy lines, what is your reason, young one?" He asked.

"Wh-what?" The kid was confused. Why did this nobleman want his opinion? Is what he would be asking, but seeing the Crescent Moon Blade Polearm that man wielded, he cracked "...To feed my brothers and sisters...I am the eldest...it is my responsibility." He answered.

"...Quite the noble cause...Lead me to your family, young one. I wish to see it." He said.

Out of fear of being killed, the kid led Pao Xian to what seems to be a stone brick house, with 1 more male child outside, playing alone.

"Elder brother! You have retur-" The boy cut himself off at the view of Pao Xian had brought intimidation to the young boy.

"...Where are your parents, young ones?" "I-Inside...with my elder sister." The boy said. "W-wait, n-no no no!" The kid entered the house in a panic.

Pao Xian, a bit confused decided to follow the kid. There, he opens the door to see the father and mother, beating the little girl. "You little harlot! This is all the money you could come to me with me? A measly 23 gold!? You little imbe-" The father was ready to strike, but Pao Xian grabbed his wrist with force that nearly exploded the veins.

"Enough! To beat a child is dishonorable. You must be ashamed of yourself as a person." He said with anger as he pushes the father away, the mother going to her husband. "You dare teach me how to discipline my children! You are-a...a.." The father stop.

The father recognizes the man immediately. Luscious beard, green uniform of a general, the Crescent Moon Blade Polearm, and the dragon crest...He was Pao Xian, the God of War!

"G-G-G-God of war, Pao Xian! We humbly ask for your forgivrness!" The father bowed. Hearing what he said, the mother also began to bow in fear of being killed. "Have my children disturbed you, my lord? If so, I wil-" "It is you have disturbed me greatly. To beat a child to near death, is complete unacceptable. You should be ashamed." Pao Xian said.

However, the father wasn't ashamed, instead, he was fearful. After all, the god of war is here. "W-what brings you to our humble abode, my lord?" "...I wish to adopt your three children. They will be my next heir to the Xian family." "Wh-what!?" The father said.

However, based on the condition of the children, as soon as the children heard of the news, they all went behind Pao Xian's leg, clinging to him as if asking to be let out of this place. The kid also looked st Pao Xian, walking towards him, when his father stopped him. "You little...I raised you all! You da-" "Do not try to earn their bias on sympathy. Let them decide." Pao Xian brought his Polearm's Blade to the father's neck. "I...i...I wish to be your heir...God of war." The kid said.

With that, Pao Xian took the 3 childreen as his new family. The carriage he had brough acted as their transportation as they rode off. "Please, you may take some of the leftover food in the carriage. I made sure to provide the people of Kataka enough to survive for 1 week." Pao Xian said.

This was it, a change in their lives, the kid was now ready to change, to thank Pao Xian, his savior and now his adopted father...to follow in his footsteps and be...the same warriors as his adopted father.
