Chapter 1 – The Awakening Veil

The city of Elysara burned under a crimson sunset, the skyline fractured by plumes of smoke and the wails of chaos. Streets that were once alive with laughter and commerce now twisted into corridors of fire and debris.

Arden Kaito ran through the rubble, his chest heaving, mind a storm of panic and rage. The scream still echoed in his ears—his younger sister, taken in a heartbeat by a rogue Sacvin wielder. He had promised to protect her, and now…

A sharp pain tore through his chest. The instinct to survive, to fight, surged within him. His hands trembled, and a strange warmth began to flow through his veins. It was not fear. It was something else—something old and dangerous.

The air around him thickened. He clutched his palm, and for a moment, time seemed to slow. A faint red mist rose from his skin, coiling like living threads. From the mist, sharp blades of blood formed midair, spinning with a metallic hiss.

His first Sacvin had awakened.

A figure lunged from the shadows, a rogue with eyes as black as spilled ink, intent on ending Arden's life. Arden's mind screamed, fight… or die. The Veil reacted before thought. Blood twisted into a jagged sword, slashing the attacker cleanly through the chest. The figure vanished, leaving only a dark stain on the rubble.

Breathless, Arden staggered back. His heart raced—not just from the fight, but from the sensation of power, of something primal coursing through him. He had tasted Sacvin. And now, he was changed.

From the rubble, a calm, sharp voice cut through the chaos:

"Impressive… but reckless."

Arden turned. Standing atop a crumbling wall was Lira Venn, her eyes cold, her presence radiating authority. She raised a hand, and the air around her shivered. Frost crept across the ground, freezing the rubble, halting the fires in a shimmering instant.

"Who… who are you?" Arden gasped, staggering backward.

"I am your observation," Lira said simply, stepping down. "You've awakened your Sacvin… but you cannot control it. Not yet."

Rin Akashi appeared behind her, calm as always, her gaze piercing through the haze. "We've been watching you. Your Sacvin… it's rare. Dangerous. But with guidance, it can be controlled."

Arden's chest tightened. Guidance? From strangers? His mind flickered to his sister—if he didn't learn to master this now, she would be lost forever.

Suddenly, a new threat emerged: another rogue Sacvin wielder, this one larger, darker, radiating a palpable malice. The ground quaked with each step, and the air hummed with tension. Arden's blood surged in response, instinctively forming crimson blades around his arms, the first of many weapons yet to come.

"You want to fight?" he whispered to himself, voice low and trembling. "Fine… show me what it means to survive."

Lira and Rin moved with him. Frost and Warp manifested around them, creating a protective perimeter as Arden stepped forward. The city's streets became a battlefield, the flames reflecting in their eyes, the wind carrying the scent of ash and blood.

And somewhere deep inside Arden, the Veil whispered: This is only the beginning.....

Arden's Sacvin awakening (Veil)

Introduction of allies/rivals (Lira's Frost, Rin's Warp)

First taste of combat and stakes (rogue Sacvin wielder, city in chaos)
