In the morning at school, during PE class, Akira and Ren were jogging together around the field.
Ren: "What's up, Akira? You look like you're spacing out. Thinking about something heavy?"
Akira: "I'm just a bit anxious thinking about my younger sister. She just started school."
Ren: "I had no idea you had a sister."
Akira: "I guess I haven't mentioned it to you yet."
In the distance, Ayumi and Natsumi were sprinting at full speed, neither wanting to lose the duel.
Akira: "As usual, those two are getting along great."
Ren: "Sigh."
Ren just let out a long breath.
The scene shifts to the school where Yui, Emi, and Hana are. A new teacher enters the classroom.
Teacher: "Class, we have a new friend joining us today. Please be kind to her. Please, come in."
Yui walked into the class and stood beside the teacher. Many students, both boys and girls, began whispering in admiration of her beauty.
Teacher: "Please, introduce yourself."
Yui: "He... hello. My name is Yui. I hope we can be friends."
Yui introduced herself nervously while the students continued to praise her looks.
Teacher: "Yui, you can take that empty seat next to Hana."
Yui: "Okay."
Yui sat down next to Hana.
Hana: "If you need to ask anything, I'm ready to help you, Yui."
Yui: "Yes, thank you, Hana."
Teacher: "Everyone, open your books. Let's continue the lesson."
Students: "Yes, Ma'am!"
Time passed, and it was lunch break. Hana and Yui ate together in class; they both brought lunch boxes with identical contents.
Hana: "Ugh, why did Akira give you tomatoes? He knows I hate them!"
Yui: "Don't be like that, Hana. Tomatoes are healthy for the body."
Hana: "But... they taste so bitter!"
Suddenly, Emi appeared and placed her lunch box on their table.
Hana: "Wait, why are you suddenly coming over here?"
Emi: "To eat lunch, obviously."
Hana: "Go back to your place! Yui and I are eating together here."
Emi: "I'm not eating with you. I'm eating with Yui."
Emi looked at Yui.
Emi: "Nice to meet you, I'm Emi. I hope you don't mind eating with me."
Yui: "Nice to meet you, Emi. I'm Yui. Come on, let's eat together."
Hana: "Eh, Yui!"
Yui: "Isn't eating as a group of three better than just the two of us?"
Hana: "Fine... let's eat together then."
Hana and Emi stopped bickering for a moment. But when Emi looked at Hana and Yui's lunch boxes, she became confused.
Emi: "Why are your lunches exactly the same?"
Yui: "Big brother made them for both of us."
Emi: "You mean Akira?"
Yui: "Oh, you know Akira too, Emi?"
Emi: "Of course. Because Akira is my boyfriend."
Hana, who was about to pick up food with her chopsticks, suddenly dropped them on the table. Both Hana and Yui were stunned.
Yui: "Eh...?"
Hana: "What on earth are you talking about? Don't just say whatever you want!"
Yui's face turned bright red, while Hana felt a surge of anger at Emi's words.
Emi: "Why are you guys so shocked? Didn't Akira tell you anything?"
Hana: "There's no way I'm believing a word you say!"
Emi continued to tease them, clearly enjoying herself.
Emi: "We've been very affectionate. For example, we go out together. Yesterday, I even slept on his lap, and we were all alone at home."
(By "alone at home," Emi meant when Akira was tutoring her while Mei wasn't around).
Emi: "My mom says that's what dating is like—always being affectionate."
Yui and Hana were speechless, lost in thought over Emi's claims.
Emi: "Why are you guys so quiet? The food is going to get cold!"
In the afternoon, Akira returned home from school. As he walked in, Hana and Yui were already waiting for him.
Akira: "I'm home, Hana, Yui."
Akira took off his shoes, but when he looked at them, they were both staring at him intensely.
Akira: "What's with you two? Did you send me a message to buy something that I missed?"
Hana: "Nothing..."
Akira: "Good. I thought you were mad because I forgot something."
Emi, who was already waiting in the living room, walked toward Akira.
Emi: "Welcome back, Akira!"
Emi immediately pulled Akira's hand toward the living room.
Emi: "Come on, I have more homework from the teacher. I need help!"
Akira: "You're in such a rush, Emi. I haven't even changed out of my uniform yet."
Akira sat on a cushion in front of the study table. Emi immediately sat on Akira's lap. Seeing this, Hana and Yui peeked from behind the door.
Yui: "What should we do?"
Hana: "Of course, we're going to sit next to him too! I'm not letting them be alone!"
Hana and Yui marched into the room and both proceeded to sit on Akira's lap as well. Akira struggled under the weight of all three of them.
Akira: "Wait! What's going on? This is really heavy!"
Yui looked down, her face crimson.
Yui: "Sorry, brother..."
Meanwhile, Hana and Emi looked Akira straight in the face.
Emi: "Don't you know you aren't supposed to call girls heavy?"
Hana: "Exactly. No wonder you don't have a girlfriend if you call girls heavy!"
Akira (thinking to himself):Sigh... what did I do wrong this time?
Akira stood up and moved to sit beside the table instead, leaving the three girls sitting where they were.
Akira: "Try to get along, okay? I'll go make some drinks. Just sit quietly."
Hana, Yui, & Emi: "Okay..."
While Akira was in the kitchen making juice, the tension remained.
Emi: "It's your fault, Hana. You made Akira mad."
Hana: "Isn't it your fault for being too close to him?"
Yui tried to calm them both down.
Yui: "Stop it... it's all of our faults. We should apologize to him. I feel bad for making such a fuss."
The three of them began to realize their mistakes.
Emi: "I'm sorry for being selfish."
Hana: "I'm sorry for being selfish too."
Yui (thinking):Thank goodness they're making up.
Akira returned and placed a glass of juice in front of each of them.
Emi, Yui, & Hana: "We're sorry, Akira!"
They apologized in unison.
Yui: "I didn't think you'd actually get angry."
Hana: "The truth is, I just wanted to be close to you too. I'm sorry."
Emi: "I hope you don't hate us."
Akira smiled at their words. He stood up and patted Hana and Yui on the head.
Akira: "I wasn't angry. I just want you all to get along. I'm glad you've made up."
Emi: "You haven't patted my head yet!"
Akira: "Yes, yes, sorry."
Akira patted Emi's head too.
Akira: "Now, let's finish that homework, Emi. Hana, Yui, you too. I'll help."
Hana, Emi, & Yui: "Okay!"
As evening approached, they finished their work. Mei arrived at Akira's house to pick up Emi.
Mei: "I'm here to take you home, Emi."
Emi: "Okay, Mom!"
Emi got ready and stood by Mei's side.
Mei: "Thanks for looking after Emi, Akira. Next time, I'd like you to 'look after' me too."
Akira: "Mei, you aren't a child anymore."
Hana and Yui walked out of the living room and saw the interaction. Mei was surprised to see Yui.
Mei: "Who is this little girl? Did you get married, Akira? To whom?"
Akira quickly explained to avoid any misunderstanding.
Akira: "She's my younger sister, Yui."
Yui bowed politely to Mei.
Yui: "Nice to meet you, I'm Yui."
Mei: "Oh, I see! I almost misunderstood. So that means you're still single, right, Akira?"
Mei began to tease Akira with a playful pose. Akira's face turned bright red.
Akira: "Don't do that so often, Mei!"
Mei: "Haha! I just love seeing your embarrassed face. Well then, see you later!"
Mei and Emi left the house.
Hana: "What was that expression? You look so flustered being teased by an older woman."
Yui: "Do you prefer older women, Brother?"
Akira: "No! Any guy would be embarrassed if she did that."
Hana: "And what about you dating Emi?"
Akira: "I am not dating Emi. Where did you even get that idea?"
Hana and Yui looked at each other, feeling a massive wave of relief knowing it wasn't true.
Hana: "Whatever then. I want to eat curry!"
Yui: "I want curry too!"
Akira: "I'll make it. Wait a bit and watch some TV."
Hana & Yui: "Okay!"
To be continued...
