Iron Maiden could no longer restrain herself. Suddenly, she summoned her large, heavy, spiked hammer into her hand and placed it beside Silver Knight's head.
A cool breeze brushed against Silver Knight's helmet.
"Explain yourself, Silver Knight," Iron Maiden demanded, her usual joviality gone.
Without hesitation, Silver Knight drew his blade in a single, swift motion and pressed it against the spikes of Iron Maiden's hammer, pushing back against it.
"How dare you draw your weapons here?!" General Avandal roared at them.
Instantly, the guards surrounding them tensed, their grips tightening around their swords.
Prince Realen and Prince Kaland glanced at each other with hesitant expressions, unsure of what to say. Both were afraid of offending either side, especially Prince Realen.
In their view, it would be best to let them settle it themselves. However, General Avandal's favoritism toward one of the otherworlders had led to this mess, and if they interfered now, they would surely be dragged into their conflict.
For a moment, the Red Rose Knights standing beside Prince Kaland hesitated, unsure of how to act. But after noticing Prince Kaland's passiveness as he silently observed the situation unfold, they halted their attempts to intervene and waited instead, watching to see whether General Avandal was capable of taming the hornet's nest he had stirred.
Meanwhile, they became certain of one thing: the otherworlders were not united. Whether that would become a blessing or a curse remained to be seen.
"I've noticed the way you've been itching for a fight against me," Silver Knight said, his tone cold. "I thought I had misjudged you, but it appears I was wrong. Still, I'm not surprised. What did I expect from a woman who has more muscles than brains? You're a barbarian through and through."
Instantly, the large spiked hammer in Iron Maiden's hands underwent a violent transformation, reshaping itself into a massive longsword, its blade far wider and longer than that of an ordinary weapon.
Iron Maiden snorted indifferently. She was accustomed to such insults due to her huge physique, but that didn't mean she would allow just anyone to disrespect her and walk away unscathed.
She drove her heavy longsword forward, forcing Silver Knight back until the edge of her blade grazed across his neck.
Seeing that both of them were completely ignoring him, General Avandal grimaced deeply.
However, before he could utter another word, Elias interrupted.
"Everyone should calm down," he said, looking at Silver Knight. "Although I'm the party leader, I can't control my member if you choose to continue antagonizing her."
Silver Knight gritted his teeth in anger. Iron Maiden possessed strength no less formidable than his own, which was why he hadn't attacked yet.
His gaze flickered toward General Avandal, who stood rooted in place with a conflicted expression.
What a shame. Although he had worked hard the previous day to earn the General's trust and favor, he was still unable to interfere in conflicts involving otherworlders. Fortunately, Silver Knight had anticipated such a reaction; otherwise, he wouldn't have escalated the situation this far.
Elias withdrew his gaze and focused on General Avandal. "Allowing Silver Knight to be the first to choose a ferocious beast already crossed our limit. Letting him decide on who to choose again would be the same as disrespecting all of us and creating enmity between the Empire and us," he said with a smile.
"We've already informed the Emperor that we don't mind working with the Red Sea Giants to destroy this Empire. What makes you think we wouldn't go that far? Can you afford to explain it to the Emperor if we do?"
Silver Knight snorted. "We all know you wouldn't dare," he said, glaring at Elias.
Unless they wanted to fail the quest, there was no way they would do such a thing.
"Shut up. I'm not speaking to you," Elias shot back, narrowing his eyes at Silver Knight. He might not possess the same raw strength, but he was the party leader, with Iron Maiden and Night Ninja at his side. If he hesitated now, he might as well kiss his leadership goodbye.
Silver Knight's lips sealed, his teeth clenching even tighter. He hadn't gone silent because of Elias's words, but because the moment Elias spoke, Iron Maiden pressed her sword harder against his neck. He could sense that any unnecessary movement would draw blood.
He glanced at Wolf. Even now, the man didn't dare utter a word.
'What a weakling. And he had the audacity to persuade me to join his party.'
At this moment, Silver Knight couldn't help but feel disappointed by Lyrac's indecisiveness. If Lyrac had supported him now, he might have reconsidered joining his party. But Lyrac had remained indecisive.
Compared to him, Elias was far more capable of being a party leader. Despite his lower level, he had been decisive enough to form a party early on.
If he hadn't already harbored enmity toward Iron Maiden and Elias, and if he had been willing to work with others, he might have joined their party as well.
"General Avandal, as you can see, my party and I are starting to grow impatient. So I'll ask again, are you willing to make enemies of the three of us for the sake of only a few?" Elias asked.
