Chapter 89 - The Frenzy Begins

A few minutes later, Bodoro opened the room door and walked in. Before he could even open his mouth to report his encounter, Allen, standing by the window, proactively asked: "What was your first impression of Chrollo?"

Bodoro offered his assessment without hesitation: "His aura capacity isn't huge, but his ability is incredibly bizarre, and as you said, his mind is exceptionally clever and flexible. He saw through my purpose instantly; he is trouble, pure and simple."

Honestly, Chrollo's type was the one he liked the least and was worst at dealing with. Compared to someone who fights using "plots and schemes," he clearly preferred a direct, head-on contest against an Enhancer like Uvogin.

To be precise, this was a common fault among most Enhancement Nen users.

"Then, were you aware he followed you all the way to the hotel entrance?" Allen turned his head and asked with a smile.

"What? He followed me!" Bodoro's expression shifted slightly. He hurried to the window and looked down, sure enough, seeing Chrollo's back as he turned to leave: "Damn it! I was careless!"

"No. That was actually within my expectations. If I'm not mistaken, when the Phantom Troupe launches its attack tonight, they'll target this hotel as well. So go tell Marcus to start immediately moving our personnel and important assets. Don't go near any Mafia-related businesses, and don't use credit cards or checks for payment. Just use cash and find a small motel to stay in," Allen gave his instructions without batting an eye.

Because he had the Hunting Map, no matter how Chrollo changed or adjusted his strategy, he could respond calmly. After all, the distribution and movement direction of people on the map wouldn't lie!

Bodoro nodded immediately: "Understood! And tonight..."

"Tonight's plan remains the same. Because if the Troupe can't find what they want in this hotel, they will still converge on the Mafia building. At that point, they will become prey that has fallen into a trap, unable to escape my grasp no matter how they struggle." As he spoke, Allen raised his hand and made a grasping motion.

"What about me?" Baise, covered in sweat, pointed to her nose. Having just finished a full set of basic Nen ability training, she felt completely exhausted, sitting on the floor leaning against the wall and panting heavily.

Allen warned her with a serious expression: "You will act with me tonight. Remember, no matter what happens, do not act on your own, or you might genuinely die."

Baise rolled her eyes irritably: "Don't worry, I know very well the difference between me and you monsters; I won't sacrifice myself needlessly."

Time flew, and a few hours passed in the blink of an eye.

When night once again enveloped Yorknew City, the building controlled by the entire Mafia Syndicate was heavily guarded. Hundreds of men were patrolling nearby, armed with automatic weapons, rocket launchers, and fragmentation grenades. In terms of sheer firepower, they were equivalent to one or two regular infantry companies.

Even more incredibly, the city's police force had been bought and controlled, actively blocking all major thoroughfares for the Mafia and checking every passing vehicle and pedestrian.

In order to wipe out the Phantom Troupe in one fell swoop, the Ten Dons had truly pulled out all the stops.

They even offered temporary assassins and bounty hunters a five-hundred-million deposit just for joining, with massive rewards ranging from two to four billion for killing or capturing the limbs of a single Spider.

Under the naked temptation of money, over a dozen Nen users were drawn in within a single day.

Allen was currently sitting among these individuals, wearing a playful smile, his gaze constantly sweeping between Kurapika and the Zoldyck Family's Zeno and Silva.

In his opinion, apart from those three, the rest of the riff-raff wouldn't stand a chance against the Phantom Troupe, let alone the Shadow Beasts.

There was no helping it. Most "self-taught" Nen users without a teacher were essentially at this level.

They didn't even know the four major basic practices and several advanced application techniques, developing their Nen based purely on instinct and interest.

Although some abilities were quite promising and unique, their overall aura capacity was generally low, even pitifully small.

Just as these individuals were beginning to discuss what kind of codenames they should adopt and how to cooperate in hunting the Troupe members, the mobile phone in Allen's trouser pocket suddenly rang.

The short, sharp sound instantly drew the attention of everyone nearby. But he calmly took it out and pressed the answer button: "Hello?"

"Allen. The war has begun, yes? Are you ready?" The voice of Hisoka, full of excitement and pathology, had just sounded when a violent explosion suddenly occurred outside the building. A towering column of flame reflected off the black night sky, followed by an explosion of gunfire, screams, and shrieks echoing through the streets and alleys.

"I've been ready for a long time. Let the frenzy begin!" As the last word left his mouth, Allen immediately dropped his disguise, revealing his true appearance.

Not just him, but Bodoro and Baise beside him also followed suit, changing their facial structures to show their original appearances.

"A... Allen! Bodoro?" Seeing the familiar figures and faces, Kurapika's expression instantly changed drastically. At the same time, he stared intently at Baise, who had been presumed dead, and asked: "You're not dead?"

Baise shrugged helplessly and explained: "Almost. I apologize for keeping it a secret from you, but it was a request from my savior, and I couldn't very well refuse."

"I see. The 'mutual friend' Hisoka mentioned was referring to you!" Kurapika looked up, meeting Allen's eyes, which glittered with a violet light.

The latter smiled and nodded: "Exactly. This is the hunting ground I meticulously designed, and the Spiders are my prey. Gentlemen, if you are also interested in the Phantom Troupe, then let us have a fair competition."

Old Man Zeno stroked the beard on his chin and lamented: "Oh? Competition. Young people nowadays are truly becoming more and more terrifying."

"Thank you very much for the compliment. If you don't mind, I'll be going first." The moment he finished speaking, Allen grabbed Bodoro and Baise with his left and right hands, respectively, and jumped straight out of the window from a height of over a hundred meters.

Using the power of Aura Burst, he performed several mid-air decelerations, finally landing safely in the fiercely contested area.

Seeing this, Silva couldn't help but sigh softly: "Illumi was right, he really is a monster, both in ability and aura capacity. Old Man, it might be a bit difficult for us to win this time."

Zeno laughed heartily and led the way out of the room: "Hahahaha! That just makes it more challenging, doesn't it? Besides, the commission we took has no conflict with him. No matter how many Phantom Troupe members he kills, we won't earn a single cent less."

"Fair competition..." Kurapika subconsciously clenched his fist, knowing he couldn't wait any longer; he had to act immediately.

Otherwise, the Phantom Troupe might genuinely be wiped out entirely tonight and vanish from this world forever.
