Chapter 51: Get Inside

"Harry? Are you not hungry?" Molly asked when she saw him staring at his food without taking a single bite.

Ron gave him a side glance. "Mate, are you okay?" He shook his shoulder, making him react.

Harry had been sitting at the table, but his mind was somewhere else completely. "I'm fine. Just… a bit tired."

"You do look tired," Ginny pointed out. "Did you have trouble sleeping last night?"

"Yeah, something like that," Harry responded.

"Did Ron snore too loudly by any chance?" Molly asked.

"Mom! I don't snore," Ron complained.

"I can hear you from my room…" Ginny rolled her eyes at him.

"We can get you some Pepper-Up potions for that," George suggested.

"You will be as good as new. We have a few in our room," Fred added.

"Absolutely not!" their mother exclaimed. "Those potions are not a substitute for sleeping and must only be used when there is no other choice."

The twins exchanged a look. "We use them all the time!"

"Hmph!" Molly shook her head before turning her attention to Harry. "Well, if you don't feel well, you can stay in your room and rest. I could prepare some chicken soup and bring it to you a bit later."

"But… don't we have chores today?" Ron said. "We need to clean the weeds from the garden."

"And clean the shed… that place is always filthy," Ginny groaned.

"You have chores," Molly pointed at her children. "Harry is our guest, and he doesn't feel well, so he doesn't have to do anything."

"Ehm… actually…" Fred started.

"We have some important work at the alley th—"

"Not today. Today you have chores," their mother interrupted the twins. "And if you have finished your breakfast, you may as well get started. The sooner you begin, the sooner it will be done."

Ron and Ginny groaned as they stood up to leave.

Harry waited for a moment until only Molly remained in the dining room before speaking again.

"Miss Weasley."

"Yes, dear?" she addressed him with a smile.

"Would it be okay if I went to visit Sirius today?"

The smile vanished. "Sirius, why? You saw your godfather just yesterday."

"Ehm… there is something important that I need to discuss with him."

"Harry, dear. Whatever it is that you need to speak with him about, I'm sure it can wait until the weekend, when he will come to visit you. Right now, what you need is to get some rest, okay?"

Harry stood silent for a moment after realizing that words alone were never going to convince her.

His magic began to concentrate on his hands.

'Don't.' V's voice was heard inside his mind.

"Miss Weasley." Harry approached the woman and gently grabbed her hand.

"Yes?" Molly looked confused by his sudden actions. This was not something Harry would normally do.

"I really need to go visit Sirius. It's very important that you let me, okay?" Harry said softly.

Molly's eyes became glazed and lost their usual luster. "Y-yes. Of course. If it is so important, you should go."

"Thank you very much. If anyone asks for me, tell them that I am in my room resting and that they should leave me alone," Harry added.

"Okay, I… I'll do that. Have a nice trip," Molly said.

Harry let go of her hands, and the woman returned to normal.

"Then I'll get going, Miss Weasley."

"Eh? Oh… right." She quickly got back her bearings. "The visit, Sirius, yes… will you be back for lunch?"

"Yes, it shouldn't take that long. I'll be back soon." Harry then turned around and walked up the stairs.

"That was not nice. And that is something, when I am the one saying it," V said.

"Shush. I didn't have any other choice." Harry went inside Ron's bedroom and locked the door behind him. "I just used a mild compulsion. She won't remember much of it."

"Yes, that makes it better," V said sardonically.

"Enough, V. I'm only doing this because I care for them. I need to get this done as soon as possible." Harry made a circular motion with his hand and formed a portal in front of him.

After crossing it, he found himself standing on an empty street, in front of several old houses.

"They all look the same," Harry said as he observed the surroundings.

"Isn't that the point? The House of Black is hidden among the others. It's a very effective form of protection for those living in urban areas," V commented.

"I know where the house is. I have been here before," Harry said.

"But not alone. And they never granted you entrance. That's why the house hasn't revealed itself to you… now what?" V asked.

"Mmm… I don't want to mess with the wards. I could try contacting Sirius, or…" Harry moved his hand.

"How well do you remember the inside?" V already guessed what Harry was trying to do. Harry's 'Gate' was able to bypass all magical protections by folding space itself and connecting two separate points.

Since this was a piece of magic that only Harry knew how to perform, no one had any protection against it.

"I remember it perfectly," Harry responded with confidence.

"The last time you said that, you lost an arm in the process," V pointed out. Just a small deviation, and the gate could have ended inside a wall. This was why he usually avoided opening gates to narrow spaces.

"I only lost a hand. And I got it back." He completed the circular motion. "Gate."

Harry crossed the portal…

"Ahhh!"

And was welcomed by the screams of a loud woman.
