Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Probably Not!

"Minato Namikaze, what are you doing?"

Yagyu looked at Minato with a perplexed expression. At this moment, Minato was attacking him with the special kunai one strike after another, neither rushing nor slowing down.

The special kunai passed through Yagyu's body repeatedly, causing him zero harm.

Yet Minato wasn't discouraged. As if unaffected, he continued his relentless assault with the kunai.

Yagyu watched Minato quietly. After a moment, realization dawned on him. With a smile, he said to Minato,

"I understand what you mean. I'll give you the answer right now."

Saying this, Yagyu punched unceremoniously at Minato.

A gleam flashed in Minato's eyes. Without fear, he punched back to meet the attack, his fist colliding with Yagyu's.

"He has a solid body!"

Minato was thrilled. Yagyu had a physical form when he initiated an attack.

This had originally been just a hypothesis, which was why he probed Yagyu with the earlier method.

He wanted to provoke Yagyu into attacking to verify his guess, and facts proved he was right.

"Next, let me show you my improvement on the Flying Thunder God."

Minato took a deep breath. It was time to show off his real skills.

In the Spectator Stands.

The Third Hokage watched Minato and Yagyu in the arena with a calm expression, but his heart wasn't as tranquil as he appeared.

He desperately hoped Minato could defeat Yagyu, thereby gaining more bargaining chips for Konoha in the negotiations with the Hidden Mist.

Of course!

Another major reason was that he didn't want this enemy ninja, Yagyu, to remain

"unsolvable."

"Minato, do your best!"

In the stands, a girl with red hair shouted loudly.

She was Konoha's Nine-Tails Jinchuriki—Kushina Uzumaki, and also Minato's lover.

Previously, when Minato faced Terumi Mei, he had an absolute advantage, so Kushina hadn't shouted or cheered to draw attention to herself.

But now that Minato was clearly at a disadvantage, Kushina cheered for him loudly.

"Kushina Uzumaki?"

Yagyu glanced casually at Kushina, not paying much attention.

Just a violent flat plain; he had absolutely no interest.

"Hmm?"

Just then, Yagyu noticed Minato's movement; the opponent was charging aggressively towards him.

Minato's previous attack had failed, but he had intentionally sold an opening to provoke Yagyu into striking.

The corner of Yagyu's mouth hooked up. He instantly saw through Minato's intention, chuckled lightly, and decided to grant his wish.

"He fell for it!"

Minato cheered internally. Without hesitation, he slashed his kunai at Yagyu's arm.

The sensation of cutting through tough flesh and blood came from the kunai, delighting Minato.

Then, he watched as an arm, glowing brilliantly at the wound, flew away magnificently.

"Cutting off one of my arms the moment you attack... how cruel"

"Minato Namikaze... truly a terrifying man"

Yagyu looked at his severed arm flying through the air and spoke to Minato with a mocking expression.

As his voice fell, the severed arm transformed into particles of light, flew back, and recondensed into his arm.

"How did you..."

Minato was stunned, staring at Yagyu with hesitation and shock.

"Surprised?"

"You made contact with what felt like a solid body, so you assumed I was in a flesh-and-blood state?"

"When light particles are concentrated to a certain degree, they feel no different from flesh and blood. Who said I can only attack in a flesh-and-blood state?"

"It was all just your guess, Minato Namikaze~"

"Do you know why I did this? If I didn't let you experience it personally, you wouldn't know what despair is."

Yagyu spoke to Minato unhurriedly, his expression relaxed and teasing.

Yagyu's Elementalization skill was even more broken than Obito Uchiha's Kamui.

Obito's Kamui had a cooldown time (limit on intangibility duration), whereas Yagyu had no such issue.

Furthermore, Kamui was an active skill; Obito had to activate it consciously.

Yagyu's Elementalization wasn't that troublesome. He could activate it with a thought, or it could trigger instinctively.

In the original story, Obito was wrecked by Minato using the Flying Thunder God Level 2. If it had been Yagyu, he wouldn't have had that trouble.

Original Obito realized Minato's attack too late to use Kamui to protect himself.

But for Yagyu, a mere thought would suffice.

Even if he didn't detect Minato's attack, his body's instinct could activate Elementalization, allowing him to dodge.

Like a knee-jerk reflex, Yagyu would instinctively elementalize upon receiving damage to avoid the attack.

"I wonder if the experience of fighting me will help you deal with Obito in the future... Probably not!"

"With me around, that guy and Madara Uchiha probably won't be able to be as rampant as in the original story."

Yagyu muttered to himself, glancing at Obito in the spectator stands.

"Despair? I haven't despaired yet!"

Minato wasn't discouraged. He formed hand seals, and pitch-black markings began to condense on his body.

These black markings were Sealing Jutsu formulas, preparations for activating a seal.

Yagyu frowned slightly.

"Sealing Jutsu? Trying to use such boring things against me... how awful!"

Undoubtedly, Sealing Jutsu posed a threat to Yagyu.

But Yagyu wasn't afraid. It was merely a method that could be effective against him.

Just like Sea Prism Stone in the One Piece world counters Devil Fruit users—but which powerful user was defeated just because someone had a Sea Prism Stone?

Take

"Black Arm"

Zephyr from the One Piece movie; he carried a massive Sea Prism Stone arm, yet was still suppressed by Kizaru.

"Here I go!"

With a low roar, Minato charged violently at Yagyu.

He threw a special kunai at Yagyu, teleported instantly to it, and erupted with the black markings from his body.

These markings formed a large net, sweeping toward Yagyu, attempting to entrap and seal him.

"Too slow!"

Yagyu snorted disdainfully. With a movement, his body transformed into light particles, escaping directly from the envelopment of the black markings.

"Sealing Jutsu is nice, but the attack speed is too slow."

"Clumsy attacks like that can't hurt someone as fast as light... like me."

Yagyu reappeared in the distance, speaking unhurriedly.
