Veronica's POV
From the sounds coming through the wall, I could tell Adam's rage was building with every passing second. Based on the thunderous crash that followed, the fury must have consumed him completely.
He was probably livid!
All his hard work had amounted to nothing. The deal he'd counted on was slipping through his fingers.
I could only imagine him staring at the expensive spread before him, snatching a wine bottle and chugging half of it in one gulp.
When he finished, he must have flipped the entire table in a violent rage.
Crash! Dishes, glasses, and food crashed to the ground, exploding into fragments. The elegant feast now lay in shambles, mirroring his shattered hopes.
The thunderous noise echoed through the nearby private dining rooms. I heard it from the adjacent room and felt a cold smile tug at my lips.
Adam, you piece of trash!
Thought you had it in the bag? Look how spectacularly you've screwed yourself over!
Savor that bitter defeat, why don't you? Ha!
