Veronica's POV
"Earlier today, one of my team found him dead," Lachlan explained, gesturing for us to follow. "We've moved the body to forensics. The autopsy's underway."
I wheeled Leonardo forward while Tony and the others trailed behind as we headed to the forensic center.
Clyde's corpse lay stretched across the examination table, draped in clinical white. Lachlan pulled back the sheet once we entered. I forced myself to look at the body. "What killed him?"
"Poison." Lachlan passed me the autopsy file. "Tabun - a neurotoxin. Found it in his bloodstream."
I scanned the report quickly, piecing it together. Tabun - dimethylamino-cyanophosphoryl fluoride. Lethal chemical agent, no color, slight bitter almond scent. Dissolves completely in water. Military forces used it as a weapon, perfect for contaminating drinking supplies.
"So Clyde died from tabun-laced water?" I asked.
Lachlan gave a curt nod. "That's our working theory."
