lan flashed me a grin. "Perfect timing—I made it just in time. Word got out about the bounty you posted on the Hacker Alliance. With a payout that massive, there's no chance I'd sit this one out. Step back, Phoebe. I'll take care of the messy part while you and Mr. Bailey kick back and watch."
lan had deliberately taken his sweet time arriving, first misleading all those bounty hunters who'd come sniffing around and sending them off on pointless detours. It was obvious what he was thinking. A bounty this enormous—of course he'd want the lion's share for himself. Thirty million bucks was enough to make anyone go absolutely insane.
lan gestured for Harold and me to move aside and take a seat.
His demeanor shifted instantly, turning ice-cold. Without hesitation, he launched himself at Rodney and his three companions.
