Terror flickered across Chester's face as he swallowed hard, sensing the deadly aura radiating from me.
My entire presence had shifted into something dark and menacing.
Something that would haunt his nightmares.
Whether his gulp was too loud or my senses too sharp, I couldn't say. But the sound drew my murderous gaze from the wall of preserved horrors to him.
Meeting his eyes, I spoke each word with deliberate, chilling precision.
"Chester," I began, "ever since those assassins you hired began hunting me when I was just a child, I've mastered countless torture techniques."
His face drained of color.
"I'm skilled in every single one." Moving closer, I smiled—a expression that held no warmth whatsoever. "Which would you prefer to sample first?"
