We headed to the upscale villa district downtown. The second I walked into Harold's place, just like at Starbrook Estate, every signal in the building cut out completely.
Our secret tail must have been going crazy with frustration.
Nobody had a clue what we'd managed to squeeze out of Chester during our full day at the villa.
But judging by how pleased Harold and I looked walking out of there, we'd clearly hit the jackpot.
The really creepy part? Those two who'd snuck into Harold's villa never showed up again, even after we got back home.
They'd just... disappeared.
Unsettling, but it made perfect sense.
Winter nights in Clearwater dulled the moonlight, making it seem less bright and pure.
After we finished eating, Malcolm came to get Charlies.
Johnson and Alistair stayed behind at the villa.
When evening settled in, everything outside felt calm and quiet, while the villa buzzed with warmth and comfort.
