"How is that even possible?" The other mercenaries stood frozen, some actually rubbing their eyes like they couldn't believe what they'd just witnessed.
Noah and Dion looked equally stunned.
Noah's gaze bounced between me and the man thrashing around in the river. "Did Miss Hale just launch that guy into the water?"
Dion gave a slow nod. "Yeah, Miss Hale sent him flying with a single kick."
Out of everyone watching, only Johnson kept his cool. He was probably thinking how clueless they all were about what I could really do. That kick? I'd held back. Johnson had seen me literally kick someone to death before.
The leader finally surfaced, spitting out river water and coming back to reality, only to explode with fury. He screamed at his frozen crew, "What the hell are you morons standing around for? Take that bitch down!"
That snapped the other mercenaries back to attention. Yeah, I'd just humiliated their boss completely. They weren't about to let me just walk away.
