Cherreads

Chapter 2 - Prologue:

Ch* Ch* Ch*

Ekaterina tiptoed her way through the wilderness of the forest--Her emerald eyes darted like a hawk--Ready to hunt it's prey. Her hands clutched around the bow and arrow.

Her delicate fingers clenched the tip--Rustle* rustle*

Her lips curled as she then released it. A low guttural urrrp pierced the air as she fled to it.

 Got you!!! Hah!

a thread of her hair escaped from her headdress--Her hair then fluttered against the cold Trojantium air. Her heart raced. This wasn't her first time hunting--Yet she knew that this one was enormous.

Father will be proud... a thought passed her mind as she rushed towards the lush trees.

Ekaterina then shrieked as she went behind the bush--She froze. Her eyes widened.

There in front of her was a man--His fine silk attire deem him as a noble. Her face went pale as the image of her sick father played out in her mind.

He clutched his legs as he then met her. Just for a fleeting second--His eyes widened. He stared at her.

Ekaterina feeling his judgmental stare--She gulped internally. In her eyes--He looked infuriated. The image of him ordering to behead her flashed through her mind.

D-Dominus... Forgive me...! she blurted.

Ahh... well, would you look at that... a woman...? his voice came out low, smug even in pain-- Making her jaw clench.

Now... tell me... do you find pleasure in hunting people, my lady? he asked, leaning in, his voice dripping with amusement.

Ekaterina felt the heat rush to her face--For a mere second, she had felt bad for this bastard. She sighed and walked to him. Eyes returning to his then the soil.

She then knelt in front of the man as her hands reached for him. He watched as she examined his leg. His eyes unknowingly lingering on her small frame.

Small...yet fiery--His lips curled. Interesting indeed.

She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear--Feeling in his presence and the low thrum of his heart. She glanced up--Only to meet his gaze which was already on her.

A pair of piercing blues popped out even with blonde strands of his hair hovering above it.

At that moment--Time itself seemed to stop as both stared each other. His eyes roamed over her shamelessly. He noticed how her pulse quickened with every beat.

At how she looked now--Prior to few minutes ago...

Ekaterina's breath hitched--As she then quickly let go of him and rose up to her feet.

hmm...If you would like to come along with me--Then you could make a hearty stew off me, my lady...? he teased yet again.

Ekaterina sighed in disbelief--Look, sir. "I have a made a terrible mistake and I want to make it up!"

So I beg you...let me? Seeing him not budge, Eketrina's eyes fell. She dusted off the hem of her dress as she then began to retreat.

Just a few steps in--He called for her, You know it doesn't seem that bad of an offer...

She stopped, her eyebrows softened as she turned to him. He had stood up--Still wincing from the wound.

She then walked up to him and lend him a hand. He took it without hesitation--He grasped it firmly.

Ekaterina's heart raced as they began to walk. The scent of his insufferable cologne clung to her. "What even is this feeling, God..?"

Her eyes darted to the floor avoiding him. He then brushed his fingers against her palm, slow, teasing.

Ekaterina froze as then quickly let go off him. You, sir...walk... she murmured.

--But I need your assistance... ? he tilted his head in amusement as he watched her eyes narrowing.

She then took a hold of his hands again--And this time he gripped it tighter as if not wanting to let go.

They walked without uttering another word--Though soon, his lips parted. "I haven't asked...what is your name?"

Trudge* Trudge* footsteps*

(Ekaterina breathed, didn't tell me yours first... then--"Ekaterina"

Ekaterina...he tested it out, Ekaterina...

She then turned her head to him, yours, sir? "Thoroughly interested in me, my lady...?" he asked leaning in slightly.

Ekaterina looks away in mock annoyance. "Nothing like that sir"... she murmured between clenched teeth.

"Trojan" he whispered making her hands drop to her sides. Aurelius Trojan...

Her eyes widened, her chest tightened, She then shot him a look. T-Trojan...? (Prince) The princeps...? her voice came out dry.

He nodded subtly. they then walked in silence, Ekaterina throughout the whole walk didn't breath another word.

Though Aurelius stole small glances of her from time to time. His lips curled at how many staggered breath she took.

Oh, the trouble I have bought myself...?

Will he order for my beheading...? Ekaterina shook her head.

Not good! bad thoughts! not good! she scolded herself internally for the thought.

Trudge* trudge* trudge*

Her eyes fluttered to him, she then tilted her head "What does he require from a peasant like me anyway?"

Her lips dropped in a natural pout.

"You will burn a hole in my face, if you kept staring at me in that manner...his blue gaze now on her.

"My lady" ... he then whispered. Making her jolt as she looked away--Heat rushed to her cheeks.

They soon reached the modest house.Their boots thudded against the rusty cobble stone coated floor as they made their way in.

Ekaterina noticing her father's absence--"After I treated you, you will leave, my good sir...?"

Hmm... his eyes fluttered up and darted, "Is this how you treat guests?"

Her eyebrows raised, "Oh no! not at all! how dare I?...

it's just that my father isn't here...

His lips curved as he watched her face pang with guilt--She then gave in.

A triumphant smile spread across his face as she led him in. Soon he seated himself. His cloak pooled over the mattress as she then to his wound under then warm glow of the torch.

The space between them shrank as he once again found himself admiring her. Her hands moved precisely. Wrapping the damp cloth around his knees--Her eyes went up to him.

She suppressed a gasp as she noticed how close his face was to hers--"Cannot stay here, good sir"... not at this ungodly hour...

She gulped internally, her pulse quickening with every breath.

What do you fear, Ekaterina...? Is there something wrong about a man staying in a lady's manner past dusk...?

his lips curved as he watched her crumble. Ekaterina's face flushed--Her lips parted yet nothing came.

He then got up and walked to the door--She followed him behind.

"Wait, I haven't finished...!" (Ekaterina panted softly*)

He gazed at her from above his shoulder--"You will meet me, Ekatrina" he murmured before turning to the front.

She watched him quietly as he stepped out. The cold air carried a strand of his hair.

He then turned to look at her one more time--His lips carved a small smirk as he tilted his head to signal his leaving.

"You will meet me again"

"again and again"
