Leo's POV
The Wildmane Pack house blazes with light against the darkness. Every window glows like a beacon. They know I'm coming. Yannis stands on the front steps, restless energy radiating from his frame. Good. If he's here, Helena can't be far.
I stride toward the porch with my guards trailing behind me. Huxley claws at my mind, desperate and wild. Her scent lingers in the air, but it's faint. Too faint.
She's not here.
Yannis blocks the doorway, his jaw set like stone. Asher and that damned demon healer stand with him, shoulders squared in defiance. They form a wall between me and what I want.
I approach them with steady steps, ignoring their hostile stares and bared teeth. Let them try to intimidate me.
The three men watch my every move. The demon clenches his hands into fists. The feeling is mutual. I've never understood why this pack uses his services when there are werewolf healers available. He serves the Goddess of Death, making him dangerous and unpredictable.
